  1. Is this PC decent value and spec? £780 but it doesn't include windows

    AMD RYZEN 5 7600
    ASUS PRIME A620M-K
    16GB DDR5
    1TB LEGEND
    AMD | RX 6700XT
    700W PSU

I'm more of a console gamer but do play Football Manager & League of Legends and would like the option to play more demanding/new games if I feel like it. I will use it for work but that isn't super intensive (usually I'm just running teams, Microsoft office programs, SSMS). It will likely be running on WiFi and I would like 2 monitors so I can game/work on one and watch/browse on the other.

  2. I'm browsing the laptop market (could potentially move to PC but laptop is preferred) and looking for some suggestions really. I currently have an HP Ak085na i7-6700HQ with 8gb RAM and it runs FM great but it overheats switches off and the fan is pretty much always running even when just watching videos.

I want to be able to run FM smoothly without overheating and use the 3D ME, with the option to play some other games like League of Legends, CSGO, Valorant but not on max settings.

I use it for work so reliability is a necessity as it'll be used for 12+ hours a day.

Budget is £650 but can go higher but don't want to spend over £700 really.

  3. a few minor things for Bristol City:

Adam Nagy history incorrect. He played 23 games last season and scored 1. It's currently down as 46 apps & 2 goals

Bentley should be first choice GK not backup, he played 43 out of 46 games last season and 10 out of 11 this season. O'Leary should be backup

Massengo's history is showing as joining City, then Monaco then City again

James Taylor is a defender not a midfielder.

Not convinced on the DoF role for Mark Ashton as he's officially a CEO and on the board but I understand why it's been done that way due to this involvement in transfers. Not sure how it's done at other clubs in the game

  4. I've not watched it yet as I'm at work, but I really hope data analysts have some involvement. What I'd really like to see is a scout report that gives us knowledge of his stats and personality (especially with dynamics) and then we can get a data analyst to look at things like dribbles per game, successful dribbles, area where the player has key passes or creates ccc/hc.

Anyone seen that feature Miles was mentioning where you can identify one player(galactico) for transfer? I can't seem to find that option, but I'm managing Gladbach currently, not really a team that buys galacticos so maybe that's why..? Am I missing something?

I may be wrong but I think what he meant by that is that certain AI managed teams will buy a big name like certain clubs (eg Madrid) do IRL. I'm in my second season and Utd have just spent £82 million on Verratti.

Hi herne79 in previous FM's if you go in the data folder there used to be a folder called tactics where all the AI's tactics were saved (preferred formations) for example: 4-4-2.tac 3-4-1-2.tac where are they now saved? in the pre-game editor you can see the list but they are nowhere to be found thanks!

The tactics saved in that folder are your own aren't they? I'm fairly certain the AI's tactics have never been saved.

  7. 1 - The language is important too, in order for them to be able to communicate.

2 - If the players in the first team are 24 or under then very important as they're still classed as young by the game. Over 24 not so much of an issue.

3 - They need high determination, level of discipline, motivation and working with youths. The first 3 of those make up 80% of the coaches rating.

And here is my thread that I think you was looking for?

    http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/380395-Ajax-When-Real-Life-Meets-Football-Manager-FM14

Thanks that's the thread I was looking for , I'm guessing nothing has from FM14 to 16 so everything still applies?. I'm playing in the Croatian league so I'm struggling to find coaches with good ratings in those attributes but I'll have a more in depth look. Thanks for your help.

Edit: Sorry one more question. I currently have my HoYD or youth team managers to set up training for the youth players , what attributes will be good for someone to have so they set up useful things? Or shall I set it up myself?

  8. I'm looking to replace a lot of my staff now that my first team is up to par with the league so I can focus on my youth squads , so I have a few questions.

    1) Does the nationality effect? Apart from adaptability rating of the coaches.

    2) How important is the working with youngsters attribute if they are being signed as first team coaches?

    3) Is it better for youth coaches to have a high working with youngster attribute and low coaching attributes or high coaching attributes and lowish (10 or so) working with youngsters?

I'm trying to find Cleon's thread but I can't find it.

  9. 2. All other things being equal: when faced with a tricky AMC who thrives in the space between midfield and defence and makes his team tick, would you be better served by pushing up the defence to keep it closer to the midfield and leave the area congested, or rather to drop deeper and not allow him to make any passes in behind? What should one look at to make such a decision, ideally?

I think there are a few variables in this , but please don't take my word for what I'm about to say you're better off listening to Cleon or anyone else.

What I tend to do : So if the opposition have 2 up front I'd drop the defence back or if they have one striker who's playing role where they are on the shoulders of the defenders (or if the strikers are quite quick with good anticipation) , but if they have striker(s) who are more of a DLF S , F9 or just something deep I like to push the defenders up to try and restrict that space. If you are still having trouble , again depending on the shape of either team , maybe put one of your CM or a DM to man mark him just to try and get him out of the game.

  10. but surely one of those forwads as a deep lying foreward should be back a bit more picking up one of those DM

well that screenshot doesn't really show DM's , just CM's who are on the edge of the box and you can't expect a striker to defend at the edge of the box can you? If you truely want your strikers to stick with the CM's I can only think the best way to do it is to set them to man mark them. Still I would take everything I say lightly I'm not the best with the whole tactical side of things.

pretty sure defend does the Dm and support the CB?

Okay thanks , I can't check as I'm not home.

  11. I don't see anything wrong with that image tbh , I wouldn't expect strikers to be much deeper than that. Also doesn't the defensive forward on defend pressure the defenders rather than the support who pressures the DM's / CM's? I'm not at home to check so can't be 100% certain. Another thing im not 100% certain about is the 'be more disciplined' surely they will just remain in that position and wouldn't help? still not 100% not the best at this.
