My most recent big signing for free would be Schweinsteiger about 4 seasons in on FM13. Nobody as of yet on FM14 but I've not been able to make it past the first season on any save so far.

Same here, No idea why either but when it happens i always verify integrity of game cache and steam always downloads a file thats 17.2MB everytime. No idea what it is but it obviously does nothing as it happens every time i verify integrity of game cache.

So far on my current save I'd say this guy. http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/823/8mtk.png He's been decent, still young and already proving to be a useful player. Couldn't believe his contract ran down but hey i'll take it. I'm still undecided on if i want to keep him or sell him on at the end of the season for a big profit.

It's all personal preference. Personally I used it as a time to really put my own stamp on the team sold £96 million worth of players including Nani, Evans, Young, Rooney, Butner and Kagawa. I then brought in £122 million worth of players including Isco (see above) and a lot of the youth players i have posted above.

I use a 4-4-2 with the MR/ML positions pushed up to AMR/AML. In the middle I have AP (A) and BWM (D) Then on the AML I have AP (S). Isco usuallly plays in either the AML or MC position and plays well in either position I've highlighted the area's i usually play him in. Thought I'd check the forums to see if someone did a thread on this team as ive just started my long term save and the 'Pick Me A Team' option gave me these. Really liking the squad atm just wish i looked for this thread earlier. I lost Okore because of his minimum fee release clause :/ Currently 2nd in the league in November but got a tough champions league group (Barcelona, Shalke and Basel) I'm 3rd with 1 game to go (Barcelona at home) and cannot qualify now. I think i may change tactics after looking at this as I'm currently using a 4-5-1. Great Job with the thread

Personally i like First Team regulars spending a few weeks on the physio table. It gives me a chance to try bit part players aswell as testing out some youngsters without feeling like im not putting out my best 11.

No Problem. And yeah Lars Bender, I forgot about him he's defo worth a look. Not sure what price he would be though.

yeah his reputation will have been upped plus he will have the 'recently joined club' issue so probably best looking elsewhere. I'd say get your best scout and get him to scout Europe for MC with at least 15 positioning, 15 passing, 15 tackling and stamina 15 with maximum age of 24 and see what he comes back with. Could take a few months but like you said your thinking of the future so shouldn't be a problem waiting to see what he can find.

Hmmm yeah £25 mil is a bit steep. A young player that is great for this role and cheap is Verratti, Natural DMC/MC/AMC and plays for an italian team in Serie B. Check him out.

Have you checked Banega? plays for Valencia at the start of the game. Not sure on what price he would be though.
