  1. Yes. As was the case in real life, Rangers withdrew from the development league last season to play a programme of matches against European sides. In FM I set up friendlies each week in the first season and they rejoin the league in season 2.
  2. My goalie is Rok Vodisek, young Slovenian. Signed at 19 and was already rated higher than Wes. Cost peanuts and is now 21 and worth £8m, Wes has moved on.
  3. In the first season I just arranged friendlies constantly for them but they do join the development league in Season 2. Semi finals of both so admittedly I did come up short of expectation in all competitions. Luckily managed to avoid the sack, for now at least!
  4. Bit late to the party this year but have recently started a game with Rangers. Having a bit of a bizarre time. As we stand, I’ve played 37 league games in the first season. I have 88 points, having lost 3 games (all to Celtic). They’ve won 34 of 37 games, sitting on 103 points going into the last fixture (against me). For about 6 games now, I’ve been threatened with the sack if a result goes badly. Admittedly I’m 15 points behind, but given the circumstances this seems harsh. Anyone had a similar experience?
  5. In addition to the above transfer activity I have since sold Dembele to Monaco. They bid £12m, I asked for £30m and to my surprise they paid it. So I've spent the profit on Will Hughes, Michael Bradley along with securing the returns of Caulker/Carrick.
  6. So after my initial attempt with Spurs corrupted after 18 months I've started again. Thought I'd post an update. My first season transfer information (including January) is: IN: Nathaniel Clyne - £9m John Souttar - £1m Saido Berahino - £10m DeAndre Yedlin - £2.4m Martin Odegaard - Free Alexandre Lacazette - £8.5m Joe Gomez - £5m OUT John Souttar (loan back) Saido Berahino (loan back) Kyle Naughton - £2.4m BAE - £1.3m Adebayor - £4.5m Brad Friedel - free Had a disappointing time in the domestic cups. FA Cup - lost in 3rd round away to Liverpool. League Cup - lost in 4th round away to West Brom. Europa League was tough to take. The semi final line up was: Tottenham v. CSKA Arsenal v. Zenit. I was 4-0 up after 52 minutes at home in the first leg which then somehow ended 4-3. I proceeded to go out on away goals after a 6-6 aggregate score line. The blow was slightly softened by Zenit defeating Arsenal in the other semi! As for the Premier League I made a late surge of form and finished 4th on goal difference ahead of Man City and a further 11 points clear of Arsenal in 6th. Dembele was my best player all season. His CM partnership with Eriksen was formidable while Soldado chipped in with 26 goals in 36 league games. So. The summer of 2015. Transfer activity so far has seen: IN: Ross Barkley - £15.25m Leonardo Bittencourt - £2.5m Ricardo Rodriguez - £15m Nikola Vlasic - £195k OUT: Tom Carroll - £2.2m Nacer Chadli - £5m DeAndre Yedlin - £750k Paulinho - £20m Ryan Mason - £2m Alex Pritchard - £1.5m Lewis Holtby - £10.5m Federico Fazio - £6.75m Danny Rose - £6m Opening game of the season was at home to Stoke. I'd played my CL playoff on the Wednesday before. Last season I basically had two different starting XI's for the EL/PL so it wasn't an issue. This season will be different. Stambouli went off injured after 25 mins. I didn't have Capoue on the bench. I play with a DM. Rather than adjust and move someone forward to CAM, for some reason I stuck Dembele at DM and went on to lose 4-2. I only conceded 30 goals all season last time round so this was a major shock. I've been in a huff with it for about 2 days since and this is me just going back to it!
  7. He was kicking into gear before that save game corrupted! I've signed him again from the start on my new version so he must have done something right!
  8. I never thought of doing that. I had backups of the save but, strangely, I'd rather start again than have to go back 6 weeks or whatever. So having a save just after doing all the rigmarole at the start is a good idea.
  9. The other plus side of my original save corrupting is that having started again - Odegaard is now in it and has been snapped up.
  10. Had a bit of a nightmare. 18 months in and my save game corrupted. Started again. Focus now being on bringing in young British players (although not exclusively). Sold Vertonghen, Adebayor, BAE, Soldado, Naughton. Signed Berahino, Roberts, Hughes, Souttar, Clyne with a few of the younger ones returning to their clubs on loan. Brought in Lacazette to offset the loss of Soldado/Adebayor. Berahino doesn't arrive until January so I could perhaps do with another forward on loan until then. I'll try to secure Stones & Barkley again at some stage. Took me forever to re-do all the staff etc. I'll actually be playing Kane this time round to try to mimic the above results!
  11. Not sure if this is the right place for this so I'll keep it brief. I've just had a bit of a snowstorm of bad things happen (censoring myself). Basically FM crashed. Crash dump message. I reloaded. Saved the game, my laptop crashed. Restarted it and now when I'm trying to load the saved game in question I'm getting a message of "the save game could not be loaded". Any ideas?
  12. Ante Coric moved to Man City it seems for £725k and is now on loan at NYCFC. Lopez has signed a new deal with a renegotiated buyout of £26m. Tielemans I've been scouting for about 18 months now but just haven't pulled the trigger in attempting to sign. Not entirely sure why.
  13. Just been on a bit of a scouting mission to try and find some good youngsters to bring in but I'm finding that clubs who have players of "black star" 5* potential are demanding £20m even if they're only 15/16. Realistic, I suppose. Puts the burden on you developing your own players.
