  1. I've started a save as Arsenal, and it's going pretty well so far. Just started season 2. Last year I finished 3rd (tied on points with City) in the league, won the Carabao cup and was UCL runner up but we're struggling more this season. My tactic feels pretty inconsistent.

My transfers have been a mixture of typical FM & realistic Arsenal.

Season 1 In: Declan Rice, Alex Scott, Ivan Fresneda (Jan), Caicedo (Jan), Archie Grey (Jan), Pepe (Loan)

Season 1 Out: Nelson, Tavares, Cedric, Biereth, Trusty, Partey (Jan), Tomiyasu (Jan)

Season 2 In: Marc Guehi, Arsen Zakharyan, Ashley Phillips, Alban Lafont

Season 2 Out: Pepe, Holding, Elneny, Balogun (loan), Phillips (loan), Patino (loan)

This is my current tactic, as I said its been inconsistent this season. Any suggestions?

  2. I’m trying to find a save but struggling to decide what. I want to go for a team that is top but not quite elite that I can make the best team in the world, focusing on youth. For example in FM21 I played a Roma save that was so good I never played FM22.

Can’t decide on anything this year, was thinking one of the following:

    Brighton, Villareal, Napoli, Milan, Roma

could anyone suggest a team and maybe even some tactical guidance?

No suggestions on tactics but you could always look at trying to replicate Pep's style at Man City or his classic Tika Taka style he had at Barca.

Roma, Torino, Lazio, Sassulo, Empoli, Bologna would probably be good choices to do a youth only save.

Either that or look at a team in Seria B so it gives you more time to get your tactic right and bring through some of the youngsters. Palermo would be a great team to do a youth only save with I think.

Not necessarily going for youth only, but defo youth focused. I don’t get to play that much so I prefer to go with nearly-top teams so I don’t have to build as much. For example, FM21 my favourite save was Roma.

not even necessarily doing Italy, but I just can’t decide who to manage!

Keep in mind that British are non-EU and you may not be able to register them.
If you want to check some italians then scout:

    Gianmarco Cangiano

    Felice D'Amico

    Vincenzo Millico

    Giacomo Raspadori

Brenner (Brazilian with italian passport from Sao Paulo)

I ended up going for Madison, I had space for a non EU player but he actually has Irish second nationality so he counts as EU. He's started the season well, a marked improvement over Mkhitaryan.

My other two targets were Richarlison and Cunha, both of whom ended up at Juventus. Hopefully they don't prove me wrong!

Going in to season 3 we line up as below (4123 wide)

    Edouard

    Madison - Zaniolo

    Pellegrini - Castrovielli

    Tonali

    Pellegrini - Mancini - Ahmedhodžić - Mbabu

    Ramsdale

Valencia has an absurd amount of good potential youngsters, and not a lot of money.

Fran Perez, Munoz, Lee, Musah, Guillamon, Fran Garcia, Jesus Vasquez, Koba Lein and some more...

They do have a lot of youth, but I'm a little hesitant of clubs with very poor finances overall, which I think they do?

I imagine I'll have to go away and think for a while as I'm way too indecisive

I would go with Villa or Rennes for the biggest challenges :)

I agree they'd be the biggest challenge, but for me it's not necessarily about how hard it is. Lyon in FM19 is the best save I've ever had, and would probably still play if not for the temptation of FM21s features

  7. Looking for some help with picking a long term save... My last one was Lyon in FM19 who I managed through to 42/43 season.

I like 'smaller' teams in the big leagues who have a lot of potential to become the best. Generally stable finances, good youth set up, maybe a good prospect or two? I've thought of some ideas below but can't really decide

    England: Aston Villa, Everton, Leicester

    France: Lyon, Rennes

    Germany: Leverkusen, RBL

    Italy: Atalanta, AC Milan, Roma

Nice to see a little variation in the tactics everyone's using this year. I'm tempted to start a save but it never goes well.

I get too invested in every player and care too much about the development of minor youth players like Ben Cotteral or the young Estonian lad we have in goal.

Would love a 4-2-3-1 with a front four of Saka, ESR, Nelsen and Eddie or Martinelli up front.

I'm hoping that when the full game comes out there will be some upgrades to our youth - if so, I'll start a long term youth focused save

  9. When you remember this is just a beta save and even if you were to do a long term Arsenal save it'd be after release (there's no way they don't upgrade our youngsters, surely? Or at least Saka)

Time to make some dreams come true. First/Second XI below... (not sure between ElNeny & Guendouzi)

i play 4-2-3-1 and i play willock next to partey, best cm pairing tbh

What roles do you use? I went ahead with McTominey and it's working okay, but I do think I should have found another target.

I rotate Willock and Aouar at AMC and both are great. Although I do play Willock and Partey/McTominey at times (DLPs - CMd)

On another note, Nketiah is absolutely broken. Last I checked he had 27 goals in 27(4) games. Hoping someone comes in for Lacazette as I don't see the point in having both

  11. My board bought Aouar in the summer for 40m, and have just given me another 40m to spend in Jan.

Looking for a midfielder to partner Partey. Determined to get a 4231 working, currently rotating Willock and Aouar at AMC. Not sure I like Xhaka or Ceballos next to Partey. Looking for a hard working playmaker who could also fill in for Partey (El Neny is currently injured). Maybe McTominey but not sure he is creative enough. Mount would be the dream but doubt Chelsea would sell. Not necessarily British, but have 17 foreign player limit coming in.

And any suggestions for u18s to sign?

This is how i line up the team at the moment, Partey spent the first season being on the right of that midfield, but he partners with Torreira really well.

I don't fiddle with creating set pieces etc. as i'm scared i'll break the game and get something super unrealistic :D

Interesting! How is Auba as an IW?

So far I've started and convinced the board to buy me Aouar. Now to decide how to play him! Stuck between a 4123 and 4231 really
