  1. Also a bit confused about using work ball into box when you have 4 players that want to pump crosses into the box and a striker who, if I'm not mistaken, is a solid aerial threat? In general I wouldn't use WBIB any more as the players inherently have gotten better at working proper chances and with the roles you're using I definitely wouldn't use it. On top of conflicting with the roles you chose it will also slow down things, which just makes it more likely that Scamacca will be marked by 2-3 defenders as nobody will support him in the box, at which point it's no surprise you're seeing a lot of blocked shots.
  2. General and individual training are apparently swapped around in the responsibilities menu for the U19s. Just a bit confusing.
  3. Oh, this would actually explain the absolutely ridiculous transfer of Endrick moving to City for €31m after one season at Real where he actually was a regular starter in my save. Can't say anything about Roque, Barcelona threw him under the bus, yet he still stuck around for 7 years before going back to Brazil and becoming an icon at Palmeiras. To be honest a lot of things are hard to judge as to how much of it is buggy and how much is bad management. Some of these revolts definitely seem out of place, but when another poster openly admits that he lied to his player because he considered it easier to just promise him something that he would never fulfil and then complains when said player is angry at him for breaking the promise because the club performed so well a player clearly shouldn't be angry about a broken promise, is that buggy interactions or is that just poor man management? SI have acknowledged the revolts regarding squad depth, so obviously something went wrong there, but a lot of other stuff seems to be a lot harder to pinpoint. The player scoring a lot isn't really anything new and none of the leagues I got running in full detail are reproducing some of the pretty absurd goal lines/xG overperformance people are posting here, so it becomes much harder to define the actual issue.
  4. So, playing a journeyman save I received a job offer from a bigger club, which I accepted. However, as my old board wanted to keep me on board they requested a meeting with me and I couldn't continue the game until I responded to that, so I told the board that my mind was set. This results in me handing in my resignation, despite already having signed for a new club and then resigning from my old club cancels the accepted job offer from my new club, leaving me behind unemployed. Similarly, if I go to the meeting first and hand in my resignation this will also cancel any open job offers. Steps to reproduce: Go into the board meeting and tell them you have made your decision. You will resign from the job and both the AB/Randers offers are gone. Alternatively, accept one of the job offers first, this will cancel the second offer as it should, then go to the meeting and tell them you have made your decision. You will resign and the game will treat it as if the accepted job offer simply never happened, telling you after a while that you failed the interview if you continue playing.
  5. Well their manager got fired again, I applied again and.... my application was unsuccessful! Didn't even get an interview this time around, I'm sorry but what the hell is this based on? How can I get the job the first time around and the second time be deemed as not good enough to even get an interview?
  6. Play a journeyman save. Apply for better jobs. Get offered a contract by a bigger club. Accept it. Can't continue the game due to a board meeting with my old club about my contract situation. Tell the board that I'm leaving. Game considers that me handing in my resignation, which then apparently terminates both the contract with my old club and the new contract I just signed. Be told a week later that my interview was "unsuccessful" despite actually being offered the job and accepting it. Ok, now I'm actually annoyed. Especially as it happened just before my auto save kicked in, so I either replay a month, hope that specific coach gets fired again and I get the job again or just go on holiday applying to any random job because I'm unemployed.
  7. Yeah screw board visions as always. Hey, you managed a surprise promotion with a team that should consider itself lucky to even win a single game next season? Well, we now want you to play Attacking, Entertaining and Counter Attacking football! Yeah, we want you to attempt to avoid relegation, but don't you dare try to play defensive football to scrounge points together! And of course I can't remove them, because why would you care about the coach that managed to get your team promoted.
  8. Penalties should maybe be toned down just a bit. That's 198 penalties compared to 134 in the 22/23 season and 105 in the 21/22 season.
  9. Sure some decent players went, but it's pretty obvious that the Saudi's couldn't just buy any player they wanted, because otherwise the transfers they are making in FM would've already happened this summer and a lot of clubs would've happily offloaded even more deadwood. In my save Bayern has become the Saudi's favorite store and I just can't imagine that happening. Yes, Mané went this summer, after massively falling out with the club and nobody else willing to pay his wages. But the likes of Kimmich, Goretzka, Coman or Kim all happily moving, while still being some of the best players in Europe, playing for one of the best clubs in Europe and having a salary to match that? Seems rather unlikely. At the same time the AI should also try harder to hold onto these players, especially someone like Kimmich is not someone you can straight up replace regardless of how much money you got.
  10. But that's the issue, that's not realistic is it?! No club put down a €15m bid on the table for say Frenkie de Jong or de Ligt, even though it's not as if they were earning millions at Ajax, because everyone knew these were two of the greatest talents in the world, every top club was after them and both the club and the player would have laughed you out the room if some PL relegation candidate had shown up with €15m. Also thanks to the CL Ajax's finances wouldn't care about €15m in the slightest, so approaching them financially in the same way as the rest of the Eredivisie again makes no sense. The OP is basically in the same situation, yes his national league isn't the greatest, but with CL knockout stage money his club is going to be pretty wealthy and the players that show a level that gets him to the knockout stages should not be rated as your average guy from the Hungarian league. Admittedly, the players should also take this into account and ask for a bit more than €1m/yr no doubt, as the club can clearly afford that and they are worth it, but this is just another part where things get really awkward when you start doing relatively well as a club from a small league. And sure, you can keep rejecting bids and probably even keep these players very happy at your club if you butter up to them enough, but that's not really the issue is it? The issue is that a guy with world class attributes, who year after year shows it in the CL, would not be rated as a ~€15m player simply due to playing in Hungary. Especially a Hungary that has a much improved reputation as obviously those CL runs from the OP are gonna do wonders for their league coefficients.
  11. Mmaee went for €3.5m+ and is not a great player, comparing him to Chalá is just disingenuous. Lisztes is going for €4.5m, with bonuses up to €10.8m and that's an unproven 18 year old. Meanwhile, Chalá is 21, absolute class, worldwide reputation, but is valued at like €13m? That's just absolute nonsense, the guy looks good enough to walk into almost any starting eleven out there. Any club from a top 5 league buys him and the game will value him at €100m+ before he has even played a game. Also with the OP doing pretty well in Europe Hungary's league rep should have improved quite a bit, his own club rep should be good and the player will have demonstrated his skills on the highest level in the CL. I recall this being a lot better in FM22 (although perhaps a bit too good), but this reminds me of the days where you could buy de Ligt from Ajax with basically any club in a bigger league for like €20m while in real life every top club was after him and the rumors that were around suggested he could very well become the most expensive defender ever. Talking about the OP using the editor and stuff like that really shouldn't matter in this argument, a player of Chalá's calibre, with worldwide reputation and plenty of CL experience should never be valued that ridiculously low regardless of what national league he plays in!
  12. I feel like one issue with Saudi clubs is that they buy more players than they can field, which might inflate their transfer activity (as I think in real life the Saudi clubs will be a lot more quiet due to foreigner limits and securing the world cup moving forwards). Maybe if you play with an active Saudi league they adhere to the rules more? Not sure, considering it is still the AI. The transfer fees are also absolutely silly and while in real life there were some silly transfers, like Neymars €90m, €60m for Otavio or Malcolm and the €52m for Mitrovic, in my game they have multiple 100m+ transfers and while a prime Kimmich probably could attract that price from the Saudi's, the likes of Sterling, Dimarco, Goretzka or Coman all going for €118-143m seems incredibly doubtful. They probably should also tune down how eager players are to join the Saudi's. In my save Kimmich for example went at the beginning of the second season and I really can't imagine him making that kind of a move right now. Goretzka and Sterling then went a year later, so at 30. Coman went in 26, when he was still 29, Dimarco was 30 as well and looking at a bunch of newgen transfers since then most are around 30 as well. Feels like SI hasn't really tuned when players consider themselves at the end of their career, so they go their in their early 30s, while still having a couple years in them at top level football (while often playing at an European top club) and instead decide to go to the retirement home 5 years early. Kimmich for example actually came back to Europe after his contract ran out, signing for PSG, so clearly he still had top attributes and then left them again a year later for €59m to join a different Saudi club. Similarly, PSG sold off Hernandez after one season and then once his contract ran out he went back to Europe to play for United for another 2 seasons before actually retiring. Honestly feels like too many of these elite players are way too happy to cash in and I'm also not sure whether they really should retain their attributes to the degree they seem to do when playing in a far weaker league. Admittedly, United and good decisions don't go together, but could you really imagine them signing Hernandez (for probably pretty absurd wages), after 4 years of him playing at Saudi league level?
  13. A quick Google search shows that their financial situation is pretty dire with a ~110m debt, they're making losses every year now that the PL parachute payments stopped, haven't been able to make any major sales recently and barely spent a dime in the past 3 transfer periods. So, looks to me like their finances are just that horrendous.
  14. Sometimes players get a random outside of football event that drastically alters their personality. I'm assuming that's what happened in these cases. Sometimes a player gets a massive boost, sometimes they see a massive drop in some personality stat. Alternatively since this is FM24 it could be that issue where player personality gets cloned and you cloned a much lower determination personality onto your player. From what I've seen in this thread that's something that can happen with imported saves from FM23?
  15. Some people will tell you the game is quite literally unplayable, some people will tell you everything is fine, some people will tell you that it's not a big deal and some people will ask you "what issues?". Honestly what's the point of this thread.
  16. There are rare off field events that will massively impact personality, both positively and negatively. Looks like that's what happened to your player. Check your inbox, the message about it might still be in there.
  17. I'm not seeing numbers like that at all: The average goals per game are a bit higher than real life, with roughly 2.9 GPG so far, compared to the general 2.5-2.6GPG the league sees in real life, but that's by no means a game breaking difference. There clearly seems to be something funky for some people, but without the ability to properly point out where the issue lies specifically it's hard to say what's wrong and why some cases produce some absurd goal numbers.
  18. Tonali's ban simply came too late to make it into the current database. The ban will be there in the next database update.
  19. Ok, what is actually wrong with AI squad building? I holidayed forward to 2041 and honestly, the AI squads look pretty good to me? Yes the PL squads seem to bloat a bit as the PL clubs throw around the money they have, which is hardly unrealistic to be fair, but the squad quality looks fine, they don't seem to be actively missing players for the formation they use and they are mostly fine depth wise (and what squad truly has no depth issues in any position?). Yes, there are still stupid transfers, no doubt, especially in the PL with clubs waving around their massive budget a bit too eagerly, but it's not like real life is that different.
  20. Looking at my holiday save, where I do run most top leagues in full detail, total goal numbers might be a bit higher than RL (partially due to lots of added time supposedly), but overall I don't see anything too crazy. Well Villa won the PL, that is crazy, but that wasn't the issue here right? In Spain Barcelona went pretty nuts, but nothing crazy considering how dominant Barca and Real have been at times. 104 points might be a league record though? Bayern in a pretty dominant season only scoring 82 goals and nobody else hit 70 in Germany. Italy looks like a pretty high scoring season, but I wouldn't say it's completely out of the ordinary, especially if you compare it with the 19/20 and 20/21 seasons. PSG dominated France, no surprise there, but a massive drop off after their 94 goals. In the Netherlands the top 4 scores quite a bit, but after them there is a massive drop off. (Groningen got a Consortium takeover, but it must've pumped in some cash as well. ) And finally Portugal sees a rampant top 3, which does look a bit iffy, although 100+ goals have happened before as well.
  21. You can finesse your way into spending a billion in real life as well, look at Chelsea. Honestly, for me it's a mixed bag so far. I've holidayed until 2032 so far and for example Bayern is doing pretty well. They have their core team and are adding in mostly hot prospects as back ups, as a result they have a relatively young, but still balanced squad. It's obviously not flawless, as their depth for a 3 CD line up is very thin (then again, RL Bayern would like a word) and they did just throw a lot of money at a Turkish talent who now wants to leave as they're barely playing him, but overall this looks like a much better squad than what I've seen in previous years. On the other hand, looking at a Liverpool, they have a massive squad even for PL standards. As a result they're loaning out a ton of expensive players as they simply are not getting any play time, making those transfers a massive waste of money. Admittedly, their overall squad honestly is pretty good as well and again, they do have a lot of hot prospects on the bench, but they are clearly throwing too much money at back up players that due to their fees and ability demand a squad status that guarantees them play time but they barely play and thus get offloaded again very quickly, only for the AI to then think they need to replace these guys and thus maintaining their bloated squad. I feel like the AIs eagerness to buy and sell simply needs to be toned down a bit. (Insert people crying in horror about their inability to offload deadwood) As it stands, it feels like the AI is very happy to sell when they receive what they consider a fair price, regardless of whether there is a real need to sell. So, they get a 30m offer for their back up CD, look at it and go "Fair price, sure!". They then look at the squad, realise they're missing a back up CD, so they go onto the market with their 30m and buy a new back up that's roughly at the same level as their previous back up CD and in the end you're basically back where you started. Realistically, if you have a back up CD that's happy, he fits your system, knows how you play, why would you sell him for his value when you don't have an alternative already at the club? At the same time the AI feels overly eager to spend their entire budget, because they have it so lets go for it (which arguably ties in to FM finances in general where there tends to be more money in the first place), so they buy 3 back up players that look like they might be useful, but you're a PL club so you had €150m budget, so you now have a bunch of players that cost €50m each that due to the price and their reputation are expecting to see play time, but the AI treats them as emergency back ups in case they need a 4th striker in their 1 striker set up. So, there is definitely some improvements (at least compared to FM22 which is the last version I played), but some of the quirks the AI has need further looking at, especially their urge to replace players that never played in the first place.
  22. There is no such thing as a sales guarantee. Some players simply won't attract any interest regardless of intermediaries getting involved.
  23. Trent has a contract until 2025, for all we know negotiations broke down at which point him being transfer listed isn't that strange. As for Maddison, we're talking 1.5 years into the game, a lot could have changed. Spurs might just be on a poor run so Maddison wants out, perhaps due to the number of players Spurs have in the centre he isn't getting absolute Star Player game time and is complaining, maybe he had a row with the trainer because he didn't like his team talks, I really wouldn't take too much from a single save where after one and a half years some stuff happens. Only issue I see is McGinn being apparently an auto transfer list, but the researchers also seem aware of that already, so that will probably be adjusted for the official release.
  24. Considering 4PM UK time is the official release time, I'm assuming that the redeem page won't be updated until then as those codes do not have early access.
