  1. I've found you can almost always take the promotion wage increase and yearly wage increase off a players contract and they still accept (as long as these are the only 2 bonuses you are removing). You might already know but thought I'd point it out.
  2. Not sure if there's a thread for this sort of thing but I had a search and found nothing. Think my goalkeepers been paid off! This is on FM 2011 btw.
  3. 2010/11 Season End Update We won the league with ease in the end with 3 games to spare. Our form picked up towards the end of the season while all the other teams struggled to be dominant. Only Leek put up any sort of challenge (and just to rub it in that we are the champions we beat them 3-0 at home in the last league game). League Cups Won the Chairman's Cup: Market Drayton 4 - 1 Curzon Ashton We also won the fair play award picking up only 24 discipline points. Fans Player of the Year: Gary Funnell ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Our stadium is now currently undergoing expansion in order to comply with the higher leagues regulations. They originally planned a stadium move but it was rejected by the council. It's costing £72k. In the meantime we are ground sharing with Crewe. Old Capacity: 1000 New Capacity: 1500 Completion Date: 09/12/2011 Since our highest attendance last year was 290 it's a bit of a waste of money. But it can't be helped. I Believe I can avoid relegation Wage Budget: £1.8k p/w Unfortunately even after a cash injection we are £74k in the red. Might have to be a bit more careful with the wages. Media Prediction: 19th Promotion Odds: 3-1 The bookies think I can achieve back to back promotions! I'm not so sure.
  4. After 14 games they were second to us since then they haven't won in 12! Hope the same thing isn't happening to us!
  5. 2010/11 Season January Update First things first, I'm on a £95 p/w contract till 6/12. I've been given £1300 p/w in wages to work with and no transfer budget. Staff Got rid of the previous assistant and brought in a replacement plus 2 coaches, giving me 1.5-2 stars in everything. I'm thinking this should be ok for this level. My assistant has 10 in both judging ability and potential, which is the main thing I look for in my assistant. Players Not too familiar with this level but nobody looked up to scratch from the initial bunch except Grant Goodhead, who looks a decent centre back and Martyn Davies, a striker. Apart from these two plus a few other decent players who were on a low wage, I tried to get rid of everyone. In the end 9 players went on free transfers. I brought in 15 players to replace them, going £40 over the wage budget. Players that stand out are Wixon and Sheridan, although in the last few games Sheridan has been horrible, with most of his shots being nearer the corner flag than the goal. I'm hoping it's just a blip. Tactics Set them all up on a simple 4-4-2 but with a bit more fluidity than normal. League I went the first 16 games in the league unbeaten and was absolutely flying. But in the last 9 games we've only managed 9 points and I'm really struggling to turn it around. We've managed to throw away a 9 point lead. Cups F.A Cup - Eliminated 2nd Qual. Round F.A Trophy - Eliminated 1st Qual. Round President's Cup - Eliminated 1st Round Challenge Cup - Eliminated 3rd Round We couldn't reproduce our league form in alot of the early cup games, losing to similar level competition in them all.
  6. Ha, yeah it almost put me off picking them! Update coming very soon once I've done half a season.
  7. The Gingerbread Men - Market Drayton Town This is my first Career Update. I'm partly creating this so I can track my game though the years and partly just to share my game. I probably won't go into too much detail, but I will update where I finished etc at least once a season, maybe more. My ultimate goal in this game is to win everything with Market Drayton (picked due to being the nearest club to me at level 8). I don't expect to achieve it but I can always dream! 8. In my current game I set my starting reputation as Sunday League Footballer and started the game unemployed. I quickly joined Worcester in the Blue Square South who were tipped for relegation. This season so far I finished just behind the league winners and am about to play in the playoffs. So I have done very well so far. My reputation is unproven but my description lists me as a talented manager. Throughout the course of the season I have been linked with many jobs as far up as league 1, but have never been the favourite to get the job and have never been approached. Just now I got a message saying Portsmouth have sacked Grant and that I am the most likely candidate for the job... they have just been relegated to the Championship but still!? A bit unrealistic? An unknown manager has 1 good season with a BSS team and becomes the best candidate for a relegated premiership side? Not sure whether to take the job as I'd have prefered to work my way up steadily. What's the most unrealistic job offer you've had?
  9. New Database From Scratch

I did a search on this and couldn't find anything conclusive... I want to create a database that removes all the existing clubs and competitions from the game so that I can create a fantasy system with completely new teams. Instead of having different nations with their own leagues, all the clubs in the world (just 32) would be under the same league system. Is it possible to delete all existing competitions and teams and if not which ones must stay? I have created the database but it crashes while creating it at the end of loading the competitions. Thanks for any help.
  10. I don't think this would work, as if you set a minimum ability at prime, it means the player must improve at a certain rate to reach this. If an 18 year old has a CA of 40, a PA of 150 and a MAP of 100 for example, and their prime is 28, it forces the game to improve the player by 60 CA over a 10 year period, no matter what may happen to the player. This may be very unrealistic as the player could pick up long term injuries, or never play a game, yet the player would still improve at a quick rate. Although a good idea there are massive flaws.
  11. 32.94%! That figure is much bigger than I expected. Pretty much any monitor produced in the last few years has a native resolution above that I thought. Must be that people have their monitor on a lower than native resolution, or have older monitors or laptops. I presume if the game is being played in windowed mode it still counts and records the total desktop resolution rather than the windowed game resolution?
