  1. What I want from a wish list is a match engine that has some common freaking sense for once. I'm finally sick enough of 2014's I've come to bitch to the devs, but I don't bitch mindlessly. Year after year I've seen the same bugs over and over, but 2014 has got FAR FAR worse then they were in the past. Defensive positioning is still absolutely pathetic and mindless. Its always been absolutely rediculous how differently my team looks when playing a lower class opponent then a top notch opponent. Why dones my team suddenly not know how to pass or my keeper know how to stop a very slow long shot that bounces literally right next to him and he makes no move to stop. While playing equal or lower teams they don't put a foot wrong. For once make the better teams actually play better instead of my team playing worse. For god sake REVAMP THE INJURY SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Playing the Portugese second division with one weak physio I had almost no injuries. I got the team promoted and hired 2 additional physio's with better attributes and now my senior and youth players are getting injured on a regular basis. So try to get rid of some of the lame randomness. But worse then that, why the hell can't a player with a sprained wrist play?!?!?!, it's f'ing moronic how simplistic the injury system is when you guys keep putting more and more work into the idiotic media interactions. Those are just the big over arching issues, there are plenty of little ones, most likely all do to poor graphics representation, but along those lines. The animations in 2014 are just terrible. I'm been a loyal player for a few years now but I'm fed up with the lack of attention to existing issues and 2014 is easily the most annoying of them. Oh yeah forgot the management AI has gotten worse and in a way that starting unemployed is almost impossible, even the lowest level teams won't hire you. Even when I exceeded expectations for my first club I get laughed at when I apply for a team only slightly higher then my current one. And here is a stupid bug, with 3-4 weeks left in the season after already wrapping up the the league win and promotion I asked the management for a new contract, they say no, I leak the story ( just to try it out), board asks why and I say because I exceeded expectations, board doesn't care and fires me... lol WTF?! I reloaded and of course got a new contract at the end of the season without asking for it. Come on SI, you are going downhill, so I'm not wasting my money any more until it turns around.

  3. All this over graphics... Look its a management sim, graphics are not a primary concern the game play and mechanics are the big one. The only thing the 3d engine needs to do is -clearly and accurately- show me(us) what the ME is creating. As long as I can watch a match and determine the quality of my players and such then that's all that matters. Now that being said there are issues with an accurate representation, but that doesn't mean we need FIFA level graphics. Nor would I like SI to spend the resources on them when there are far more important things I'd like to see worked on for the management aspect, let alone the ME itself.
  4. Not seen a diving yellow that I've noticed yet. Sort of laterally though, have noticed yellows in friendlies are way more common. More like normal matches, not sure if I like that or not. Harder challenges in friendlies makes me worry of more injuries needlessly.
  5. Good question... i've noticed roles are tainable now, maybe those aren't equal between the different positions, although i couldn't imagine why they wouldn't be. Only other thing I can think is 'accomplished' is a wider term with more detailed levels behind the scenes so he's not actually equally trained/experienced on that right. But equally good with both feet I would think those would be the same. Would be curious to hear what someone from SI says.
  6. sounds reasonable, haven't really payed attention myself. But you're assigning a specialization for a coach, he's not going to change that spec from first team to youths. Just sounds like a change with minor impact.
  7. This is good news. Have to say I'm glad to see this patch at this time as well instead of waiting for the usual 13.2 around the end/new year. Thanks for going the extra step with the new ME. Edit: Heh, opened my big mouth before reading the patch notes, no Me changes, just hot fixes. At least it still sounds like they intend to get the ME changes out too though.
  8. Don't remember any shadows, not in a position to play a match and check, but i uploaded a pkm regarding this.
  9. I get that part of it... I just mean that there are lots of times players that aren't moving aren't reacting to the ball on passes many times. If its an accurate pass they never do which I get. But if its a sloppy pass and they aren't moving, players along the path of the ball don't make plays on it. Only players in the area of the intended pass location will make a play. I'm pretty sure its just the representation again, I see a player that can get the ball, but in the background he's not really able to. But still a little frustrating. And its not just the new physics because this is something I've watched since 2011, think its slightly more noticeable in 13 though.
  10. Well with the information available not much can offer. Need to know more about your players, also what are your MC's? You have a heavy attack, do you have either of the MC's on a defensive stance to support your back line? What are your FB's doing? With 2 attacking midfielders, on attack stance no less, that's going to leave you FB's pretty vulnerable. Personally I would step back again to the 4-4-2, even if your wide midfielders are higher trained as attacking mids I think having a tighter more basic formation would benefit the team more. But if you really want to stick with the 4-2-4 I'd say make sure your MC are one on defensive duty, like a ball winner, and the other on support. Then change the winger to a support, that will make him cross more and with 3 targets available he should find someone. On attack you are limiting your options because then all your attacking players are running at the defense and becoming one dimensional. I often play 4-4-2 standard or diamond and have good success with them, i think the key isn't getting overly aggressive especially from what I've seen/heard from the new ME.
  11. Going to agree with milner here as well. The game is complicated enough, the tactics are a MASSIVE learning curve if. Sure adding more depth would be nice but then unplayable by all but the most dedicated hardcore players. I think the options presented as is are fine. But would like a little more option related to if you players aren't following your instructions to the level you want. Like a way of instilling more tactical discipline as opposed to the discipline used for poor or violent play. Those would be options used after the fact post match and hence not impact the complexity of the tactical planning any more.
  12. Personally this is how I approach every save I make to be honest, even if I already know what works in the past. I mean you shouldn't be able to make one tactic (or group of tactics) work for all teams and I expect that to be how the game works. So whenever I start with a new team I look make my formation based or what it looks like I have and, aside from some standards like cutting long shots or GK distribution, always work with the default sliders until i get a real feel for the team. Think that would help everyone complain less about the effect wwfan talks about with 'beating the ME'. This is a great question and if it isn't it should be.
  13. Actually this is a very good point you bring up and I'm honestly surprised by the answer. Because in 2013 and past versions there is a very distinct representation in the other direction. Either the ME isn't representing the path or location of the ball correctly or numerous players are failing to make plays on the ball as it goes right past them time after time after time. It one of the things that's annoying but i know its more a issue with how the ME shows the action to us rather then it being an technical flaw that decides winners.
  14. Meh, after playing a few matches in the demo I broke down and bought it. The ME's not as bad as many are saying, it needs work obviously. There is still the sloppy play issues from other versions, and the players ignoring balls they could easily play seems a little more prevalent then the past, but its not terrible. The changes outside the ME look ALOT better to be honest so that's cool and I know the Me will get better after a couple patches. So I decide to not wait and support SI on this one, although buying it is mainly due to being impatient and wanting some more football. Just hope the updates are worth it.
  15. Side with wwfan on this... However, when the concept in mind isn't understood by the ME we still need the tools to work to muscle the ME into our concept for it to work right. Again the most obvious example is why my players are all taking long shots when I want through balls. Granted that is fairly easy to fix, but it makes the point.
