  2. Kettering Town Season Summary 2024/25 Media Prediction: 12th Actual Finish: 6th Much better this season, we still suffered a few heavy losses at the hands of the big teams, but we picked up points from the teams closer to us, mainly thanks to German Keeper Candas Bayramoglu who Claimed the Barclays Golden Glove, and the No.1 spot in the Team of the Year, my first player to do so in the Premier League. In doing so, we took a fantastic 3 points of Chelseas, which in the end proved the difference between Europe and 7th. 4. Kettering Town Season Summary 2023/24 Media Prediction: 10th Actual Finish: 10th Fustrating season, things just wouldn't work for us, and we were losing to teams we should have been easily beating at times, Good FA Cup run until City showed up. 6. Kettering Town Season Summary 2020/21 Media Prediction: 14th Actual Finish: 7th We could have taken 5th if we hadn't drawn so many of our last few games, instead, we were forced down to 7th, mainly by a 7-2 thrashing against Man City (who took a quintuple this season). Due to them also winning the Capital One and FA Cups, I figured we should have been in the Europa league in 7th, instead, the game decided that Relegated Bolton would instead receive that spot, I was not happy about missing out on the Europa league by that small a point gap. Then suddenly, out of nowhere "Kettering qualify for UEFA Europa League", apparently we were the most disiplined team the league, with England being one of the countires getting an extra slot through fair play. Its the long route, but we are in Europe. League / Past Positions / Squad / Transfers / League Fixtures (Aug-Dec) / League Fixtures (Jan-May) / Cups Fans Player of the Season: Alexandre Sanchez - Second season running for the Spaniard. 7. Qualified for the Europa League, just, will post full update tomorrow
  8. hmmm, why does that not seem right, lose 4-0 to Aston Villa (17th at the time after 12 games), then proceed to beat Chelsea 2-0 (2nd after 13 games), still, can't complain about beating Chelsea
  9. Kettering Town Season Summary 2020/21 Media Prediction: 20th Actual Finish: 12th Quite possibly the most enjoyable season of FM i've ever played, I was expecting a relegation battle all season, but we were never in danger of that, being 5 points off 7th at one point. even taking a point from Man Utd and Chelsea, as well as 3 from Man City. The most important position to strengthen this season was the Striker position, with all of my main strikers in the Championship were all poor, with only Said getting over 10, cue a combined spending of £18mill on 2 Italians with potential leading premier league potential, Valentini and Mariotti were both signed from Roma. Valentini was an instant hit, and only an injury in the last few weeks prevented him from hitting 20. Mariotti as such didn't see as much game time, and didn't score many (just 2 in 18), but is 2 years younger so hopefully he'll get better over the next season or so. The cups were poor, drawing Chelsea and Man City meant we reached nowhere near the board expectation. Finally, John Norris has now played at least 25 games in a season in every single playable division in England League / Past Positions / Squad / Transfers / League Fixtures (Aug-Dec) / League Fixtures (Jan-May) / Cups Fans Player of the Season: Alexandre Sanchez - I remember looking at the board confidence screen early on in this lads Kettering Career and it saying the fans were disappointed with the signing, now hes a fan favourite, good to see the turnaround go that way around Best Eleven: Season / Overall Season League Position Achievements 2013/14 Blue Square North 1st Promotion, League Winners 2014/15 Blue Square Premier 6th Survival, FA Cup 3rd Round 2015/16 Blue Square Premier 1st Promotion, League Winners 2016/17 nPower League 2 13th Survival 2017/18 nPower League 2 2nd Promotion, FA Cup 3rd Round, JPT South Quarter Finals 2018/19 nPower League 1 2nd Promotion 2019/20 nPower Championship 20th Survival, FA Cup 4th Round 2020/21 nPower Championship 2nd Promotion 2021/22 Barclays Premier League 12th Survival
  10. Kettering Town Season Summary 2020/21 Media Prediction: 24th Actual Finish: 2nd We started the season with wins over QPR and Wigan, I knew this season was going to go better at that point, but losses to Blackburn and Sunderland in the last 5 games put our promotion prospects in doubt, with everyone from 2nd-7th all very close, thankfully wins over Leeds and Brighton meant we went into the final game with playoffs assured, and level on points with Blackburn and Huddersfield, the latter being in 2nd on Goal DIfference after thumping Middlesbrough 5-1. A Win guarenteed us promotion unless Blackburn won their game by at leasyt 3 goals more than us. We defeated Huddersfield 3-0 and Blackburn only just won their game 1-0. So justy in time for the new stadium, we've reached the Premier League. 11. Kettering Town Season Summary 2019/20 Media Prediction: 24th Actual Finish: 19th Safety was achieved with a single game to go, and just as well we did, the final game was against already promoted West Ham. Losing our 1st team keeper Andoni Aragon made survival look even more difficult than we were already making it. but thankfully a late revivial saw us draw several games we were expected to lose gain us valuable points, enough to keep us playing Championship football in 2021. We did however, reach the 4th round of the FA cup where we held Wolves to a 1-1 at Home, unfortunately, they smashed 4 past us when we went to visit them. League / Past Positions / Squad / Transfers / League Fixtures (Aug-Dec) / League Fixtures (Jan-May) / Cups Fans Player of the Season: Anthony Malbon - The only Striker who was albe to adapt to this level successfully, though Said got fewer games than I would have liked due to the 4-2-4 formation being inneffective at this stage. 12. Kettering Town Season Summary 2018/19 Media Prediction: 23rd Actual Finish: 2nd We were lucky to take automatic promotion, a result against mid table Ipswich would have seen us safely up wiyth no worries. So of course we decided to lose that 3-1. Odds then were against us with Sheffield Utd and Northampton equal on 78 points 2 behind me playing each other, either team winning that with our loss against Ipswich meant they'd go 2nd, thankfully they drew 1-1 and we made it up by pure luck. Still I'll take automatic promotion to the Championship, but there will need to be improvments to the squad to stay there. Finally, the board have announced a new and excitingly named "Kettering Stadium" with 16,000 seats, which has us playing back a 22mill loan till 2034, thankfully we have new sponsorships arround 400k p/a (previously 48k p/a). Realistically this means survival is now essential League / Past Positions / Squad / Transfers / League Fixtures (Aug-Dec) / League Fixtures (Jan-May) / Cups Fans Player of the Season: Anthony Malbon - Signed on a free from Kidderminster, been after him for a while and he menaced me in league 2, he was impressive for me after a tough start for him while adapting Best Eleven: Season / Overall Season League Position Achievements 2013/14 Blue Square North 1st Promotion, League Winners 2014/15 Blue Square Premier 6th Survival, FA Cup 3rd Round 2015/16 Blue Square Premier 1st Promotion, League Winners 2016/17 nPower League 2 13th Survival 2017/18 nPower League 2 2nd Promotion, FA Cup 3rd Round, JPT South Quarter Finals 2018/19 nPower League 1 2nd Promotion
  13. Kettering Town Season Summary 2017/18 Media Prediction: 16th Actual Finish: 2nd We could have nickjed the league on the last day, If Mansfield and Port Vale had played along to my script, unfortunately, neither did, and we missed out on stealing it, thankfully, 2nd was still something I hadn't expected so I'm delighted to take that and get promotion again, especially after we spend mid season in bad form and dropping out of the playoff places, at which point I though it just wasn't going to be our season, thankfully we recovered and surpassed my expectations. We also had a fantastic FA Cup run in which we beat League 1 Rotherham, and gave Chelsea a run for their money at Stamford Bridge, a draw that saw us make 600k in one match, securing finances for at least a season, hopefully League 1 football will mean they continue to improve, though my track record with club finances is terrible. League / Past Positions / Squad / Transfers / League Fixtures (Aug-Dec) / League Fixtures (Jan-May) / Cups Fans Player of the Season: Ross Keane - The Irishman was back on form this season overcoming his long term injury last season in style, becomeing not only the fans player of the season, but also the League 2 Player of the Season Best Eleven: Season / Overall Season League Position Achievements 2013/14 Blue Square North 1st Promotion, League Winners 2014/15 Blue Square Premier 6th Survival, FA Cup 3rd Round 2015/16 Blue Square Premier 1st Promotion, League Winners 2016/17 nPower League 2 13th Survival 2017/18 nPower League 2 2nd Promotion, FA Cup 3rd Round, JPT South Quarter Finals
  14. Kettering Town Season Summary 2015/16 Media Prediction: 24th Actual Finish: 13th 13th flatters us, we were poor at the start of the season, and only did the turn of the year see us really start getting somewhere, but i'm hoping its that form we can keep up next season to make a serious challenge for the playoff places. We might have been better off, had it not been for a 4month injury to Keane, and the stikers need to improve next season, with Guile being the only one to score more than 10 all season. Despite this, I'm delighted with the finish, even though we could have snuck a playoff place, that'll be next seasons aim League / Past Positions / Squad / Transfers / League Fixtures (Aug-Dec) / League Fixtures (Jan-May) / Cups Fans Player of the Season: Reece Wabara - Signed permenantly after his loan last season.
