@knapI have a few questions given some of the comments above re ME changes and mentality.
I have been using your tactics for 2 seasons, with Man Utd, winning the league both times, Europa League in S1 and QF of Champs League in S2.
i finally have the squad I want after 2 seasons of clearing deadwood. Best team/squad looks like this 4-1DM-2-2IF/IW-1
Diego Costa,
Dalot/Porro, Shaw/Guardivol, Varane/Silva/Scalvini/Martinez,
Casemiro/Bamba/Scalvini
Bellingham/Bruno Fernandes/Eriksen/Enzo Fernández
Rashford/Sancho, Assensio/Chuzeweke
Laurato Martinez/Leonardo
also have some strong youth prospects
Not married to this shape so could do 4-2-3-1 but prefer not to do DMC x2 with S.Vol role as don’t think I have the players for that and given my Centre Mids / AM C players I favour a couple in M C. So beowulf (which I have used a bit) is not really a long term formation for me.
anyway my question is that I’ve been using HGF451IWp106ALLCups and also PARIS4231P102ECC (if want to play AMC). All ME23.1 versions.
but have been conceding a LOT of goals and not winning easy games, eg 3-3 vs Leciester, next week 7-3 win vs Leeds, then lose 3-0 vs Liverpool, then beat Man City 2–0 followed by 3-0 win vs Juve then lose 3-1 to Newcastle
so I suppose my question and reading the above is if you think (after playing around with it more) is ME23.1 is more suited to balanced and if you will be bringing out a 4-1-2-2IF/IW-1 or 4-2-3-1 IF type formation with this. I like scoring lots of goals but the conceding is infuriating and also conceding lots of penalties!
also do you recommend rotating formations for home and away
finally off topic but do you know if FM touch (which is what I am playing) has tactic familiarity just we cannot see it? Worried about chopping and changing formations!
super confused after 2 seasons of relative success and seeing your stats for your tactics it doesn’t make sense to me!

Question: does tactical familiarity matter in the touch edition? I know we cannot see it but wondered if it mattered?

I can see the tactics folder. I just can’t access it. I’ve tried creating a folder called tactics on my desktop and adding that folder to iTunes via the file menu but it makes no difference. Is there a way to open a folder in iTunes file sharing? ie like you would in windows explorer by double clicking.
simple question it seems but strange iTunes doesn’t seem to work like that.
(FAOD I am not technologically challenged, at least usually and it was working before by putting the tactics in the roof folder in iTunes)

If you have windows pc. Download itunes, connect ipad or iphone to pc. Click on the tablet type icon on top, its greyish. You will then see file sharing as before. download all tactics you want on windows pc, and then just slide the file over to FM23 file on itunes.. it dosent have to be in tactics file, just among all fm23 files. When you load the game on ipad, get tactics, choose to get it from documents instead of tactics file.. you will see the fmf tactics file there. Load it. play and have fun.
Hi all. The above was working for me but now the tactics are not appearing in FM23. I am still downloading to iTunes using file sharing but (and this seems to have only occurred in the last 24 hours) now on the iPad I can’t see them. I have a strong suspicion that the iPad FM23 is looking in the tactics folder as if I save something to the iPad (ie my own tactic) it says (on iTunes) the tactics folder was last modified at the time I saved on ipad. But the issue is in iTunes i cannot seem to “go into” the tactics folder nor drag files to it, only to the root folder. Does anyone know how to address this?
would also be great to understand how cloud saving of tactics works (and where it saves to) as that may be another method here?
would be great if SI had provided some form of guide here

i guess this sounds like simple tweaks but I don’t want to mess up the way the tactic fits together
3. In reality can I change the PF to AF - and up their pressing urgency. I am basing this on Martial/Rashford being good AF but less at PF
(as a side note would be interested to hear how you use the role suitability on your saves as many of your formations have MR and ML and also MC where there can be difficulty finding a player “green” for that role - do you just ignore and play someone good (eg Salah on your recent Liverpool save) in MR/L and basically they act as AMR/L)?
I have started the season now with a 2-1 home victory vs Chelsea, which I dominated and should have had more - so far so good. Would be good to get feedback on the above though!

about changing to IF instead of wingers, at real madrid I run a test where hazard was IF-S instead of W-A , and I changed the other flank from W-S to W-A and the tactic did work perfectly to (Won la liga and CL in a holiday season on FMT with real madrid)

Equally i I agree with you all that the ME this year seems very odd - a backward step viewing wise IMHO

The reason i used the TIME tactic as a base is because it uses (almost) no PI's, and uses very usefull roles already that can stay the same in a 433 dm wide, so I knew that most of the things knap got working very well in the TIME tactic would still work in a 433.
I was very succesfull:
- Won league with man city, best in clean sheets and topscorer aguero, and best average
- Won league with PSG, best in clean sheets, best average list filled with almost all my players
- won the league in belgian 3rd division (2nd in league but won promotion playoff) with team predicted dead last and had best clean sheet stats
- lone striker is scoring a lot and uses the AF role, which is a quite common role for most top strikers
- playmaker like de bruyne shines in his natural role
- Standard def line, so your not getting caught by balls over the top
- Frequently winning the possession battle (51-54% on average with the three teams I've tested, so both good and bad teams keep possession)
- No "tackle harder" or "get stuck in", so this avoids tons of yellows & reds
- All results were holidayed in FMT with 'use current match tactics' and OI set to manager so no OI's were used. I didn't select the team, so results would be even better when human manager make selection every weak and applies rotation when needed
I'm not saying it's as good as knap's tactics, but it's the first traditional 433 DM wide that got me this good results at so much different levels (so for me it's really plug & play).
So I would recommend it for people who want a more tradional 433 instead of all the 422 variants and don't care if it might not be the record-scoring nr 1 tactic of FM20
All credits to Knap offcourse, I just shifted some positions, roles an TI's
Is this tactic on FM Base / being tested fully? I have started using it with good results (but I am Man Utd). It suits Pogba (AP A) and Bruno Fernandes (MEZ A) but I have been tweaking the wingers to IF or IW. Any views on that?

Hi - I have one question on this tactic (and it applies to others). As 442 seems to be making a comeback in FM20 how are people finding using AML/R in the MR/L slots given their “role ability” in those positions is not as “green” as if moved up to the AM slots on the wings? For example, Rashford, Salah, Sancho etc
similarly in the CM spots, people like Bruno fernandes, Pogba etc seem wasted (on paper) in those slots vs MEZ or AP - thoughts?

So you think a M C natural even if not accomplished in DM C will be ok in your double pivot VOL tactics? If so that changes a lot and is helpful.
what is SUS tactics?
btw I am amazed you can create all these tactics!
