I can't resist (just like you addicts !) I want to try one more adventure on FM22 in my beloved Iceland with Njarðvík FC. After previous short attempts on this fm with Haukar, last year Njarðvík and some FMs ago with Íþróttafélag Reykjavíkur (quite long save) I'm back for another attempt in this beautiful country with fast seasons. I had just started a Head coach (DoF) challenge in the Balkans but because of @XaWand @Winski their new adventures, I couldn't resist this topic & challenge. Also a lot of credits to @Koetzerwho did a brilliant job in Iceland and with this team ! Club info Njarðvík FC, commonly known as Njarðvík or UMFN, is the men's football department of Ungmennafélag Njarðvíkur multi-sport club, based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland. It currently plays in the Icelandic football league system third-tier 2. deild karla. Of course after a holiday they promoted to the 2nd tier (Lengju Deildin) . They never played at the highest level in their 77-year history. They are known for good training and youth facilities. The original uniform colours of the club where blue and white. In late 1973 the basketball department was in need of new uniforms and due to lack of funds they decided to select a colour that no other team was using, so they wouldn't have to buy two sets of uniforms. There where three colours to choose from but as the three selectors where all Boston Celtics fans they decided to choose green uniforms. The green colour has been in use since then. Region & Facilities We are located in Reykjanesbaer. a 30 miles drive to the capital Reykjavik. Njarðvík located in Reykjanesbær , a 30 miles drive the capital Reykjavik. Reykjanesbær is made up of the towns Keflavík, Njarðvík and the village of Hafnir. Reykjanesbær population is +-18920 . Njarðvík have a population around +-4400. Greater Reykjavik has a population of +-233000. Since 2009, Njarðvík has accommodated the Viking world museum, opened on the Icelandic Nation day. Squad 20 potential senior players and with Ólafur Bjarni Hákonarson we'll lose one of the key players . He'll join a first tier team on a free transfer. We lack quality on the wings (fullbacks & wingers). This will be my first eleven, average age of 27 ! Key Players Einarsson is our star midfielder with a lot of first tier experience. Mcausland is our experience and best defender and almost could have been a brother with that last name. I lost him quite fast on the previous FM , so i hope i can keep the St. Mirren legend for a few years. With Błąkała we have a very good goalkeeper from Poland.

wow ! i take everything back about not getting any foreign in iceland :o

good luck in Iceland @XaW and @Winski . not sure if you'll get many foreign (second nationality) intake players, in all of my iceland saves i only had a few (english, denmark etc). Are all the teams in the league above , semi pro again? it could be wrong but in the past most of the first tier teams in Iceland were pro, last time i checked almost every team is semi pro ?

August 2022 A very good start and we should have won the big game against Prishtina , we were much better but had a red card in minute 60. But does that really matter if you win the derby against Gjilani? What i didn't know and should have read is that you are obligated to put one U19 player in the starting eleven. i only had some regens from the first intake(during holiday season) and.. that was a big problem . i can't take of the kid without replacing him with another one.. So striker Altin Selimi (15) and goalkeeper Renato Doci(15) are included in the senior squad with the intention to put Selimi up front in all the games till i have another young one to rotate. Selimi already scored and gave us three points in the league so that was really fun ! Transfers $ The window closed already at the 8th of august A veteran AMC on loan , can be useful but he doesn't fit in the system at the moment. The two others are young regens, not any good. This Save is on hold because of a mix of reasons. Don't feel the head coach stuff, can't understand why my Dof didn't sign a U19 if that is a rule (one u19 should play every game in Kosovo, so you also need a bench with guys U19) and Island Youth only is calling me again.. my desire for a transfer save (Dof or no DoF challenge) is really gone. Maybe i'll continue this next month but at the moment it is on hold

July 2022 Our preseason is almost finished and this are my first eleven. Transfers Our president signed below DoF Donat Vrenezi with no experience, not what i wanted but we have to deal with him, he is my boss He signed three players in July, one is ready for the first team. He won't be more than a DC backup. He could feature as a backup winger but i already had many options. At the moment he is our second best defender with some experience in North Macedonia and Albania.

Juni 2022 - Job interviews part 3 FC Drita Gjilan - Kosovo- Intro - 1st tier - BKT Superliga Profile manager | Club vision | Wikipedia I didn't want to start higher than Albania or Kosovo so I'm glad it became FC Drita. They play in the highest league, were champions 3 times (recently in 2020 and 2018) and last season played in a qualifying round Europa Conference league against Feyenoord (the eventual winner could only narrowly win the return match in their own stadium. They could play against my team( Antwerp) in the second qf In the ECL , if they beat Inter Turku in real life. One other fun fact: Xherdan Shaqiri is their biggest fan. In this save they finished 7th (out of 12) in the first season and now expect to finish higher. I see this as my first adventure in the Balkans and I am curious what my future DoF will do in terms of transfers. No DoF yet so the chairman knows what to do. They play in a old stadium with 9000 capacity in the city Gnjilane-Gjilan. Let's go !

Juni 2022 - Job Interviews part 2 The Akademija Pandev was my first interview and they offered me the job. I didn't know this club. It is the own academy and team from Goran Pandev, started in 2010 . They already won the cup and qualified for Europe in real life. And they play in a 9200 seated stadium ! But North Macedonia and first tier is not my idea of starting low in the Balkans so i'm going to reject .. more news in the next post.

You know I can assure you that it is possible but really hard in the first seasons. I can send you some details from my save (2038).

Thanks for the great pack ! i have a question. I'm using the Albania and Montenegro file but in both countries i saw this: In both countries, almost everyone is FGN and you only can select a few of them, is this a bug or am i missing something please ? Never mind, edited the files and changes the EU dates but even without editing those dates to 2030 (squad rules) , it seems to work after a few restarts.

Juni 2022 - Job Interviews I decided to only attend interviews for jobs in the lowest-ranked Kosovo,Montenegro, Albania & North Macedonia tiers. Had some offers from Bulgaria (reputation is not low enough to start) and Bosnia & Herzegovina but I want to start lower.

Database The database is restricted to the 12 balkan countries (players based in nation and of nationality loaded) and top five countries (view only). I downloaded the Around the Globe database to add certain nations like Albania and Kosovo. Coefficients Italy is included in this list because the cities Monfalcone & Trieste are located in the Balkans area. Achievements /

After several youth only challenge saves I am still tired of doing transfers and scouting myself . Hopefully this will come back in the future but I only saw one way to do a non youth only & no transfers save... and that was the head coach challenge ( great inspiration by @coady with his yearly head coach saves and youtube episodes). I intend to make this my last save of this edition. Rules - Start unemployed with the lowest reputation and without coaching badge. - Chairman or DoF are in charge of transfers, staff, scouting, contracts and youth intake. - I can't sign my DoF. The Chairman should sign one after I join the club. - I am responsible for the line-up, tactics, training and press conferences. - Do a one year holiday and apply for a job after the reset date. Try to start in the lowest possible tier/country. Region The Balkans, a region where I have rarely coached but which is nevertheless loaded with talent. Also internationally, there have been beautiful national teams in the past such as Davor Šuker's Croatia, Gheorghe Hagi's Romania, Hristo Stoichkov's Bulgaria, Goran Pandev's Macedonia and many more. I am ready to explore the region as a manager and work in leagues that are unknown to me. There are also some countries on my bucket list to go on holiday in the future. For now, I have only been to Greece and Turkey. Objectives - Manage and win the championship with the best club(s) in the Balkans by constantly moving to a better-reputed club or by developing a smaller club. - Reach the knockout stages of the Champions league. - Win a European cup. - International management with a Balkan national team is possible but not a real objective. - Possibility to add extra Italy as final destination because Italy has a small section in the Balkans.

Luxembourg - 1th tier - RM Hamm Benfica - affiliated with Benfica and they get portugese regens

One team plays a promotion final against the number last from league 2. You have to reload it many times before you get Caley Braves but on the last FM they came 'fast' (20/25 reloads). Scotland - 25th June. Save on April 30th then holiday for 1 day to see who is the promotion playoff team

Hey , 1. I think the yes next to Vaduz is my mistake, i'll change that. thanks. 2. Suitable for youth only save = suitable according to the youth challenge rules (picking a team that promotes to the lowest playable tier after year of holiday). 3. Before they were named Edu Sport. I did ten season with them in FM20 and afterwards becase follower and 'member' of the club. Tried it again this year and started a topic but stopped after some minor bugs (and was tempted to start with Africanos). You can find all the information in my intro in this topic: they also have a youtube documentary and a nice app.

Not all Belgium clubs, few of them play in Europe every season and have a big budget. But I'm not sure the tv money is correctly reflected in fm22.

OFI Crete (Greece) ?

Enjoyed reading this, good luck ! i'm at Crete next summer and i like OFI Crete , visited them before in 2018 and had a short save with them . Now they have a new owner sinds 2018 and are back in the top flight. i think i'm going to start with them , with some kind of transfer policy (yes i'm going to do transfers for the first time since my gibraltar save from last fm)
