  1. ...hut my run has come to an end with a goalless draw after 25 straight wins in the German Regional Division (a 34 game league). How close has everyone else come to the perfect season?
  2. Expect the above message if you ever happen to manage Oggersheim in the German RDS - one of the strikers is called Alexander Christ - tickled me at least!

  4. In my career game I have just finished my 12th season, 11 at Leigh, one at Leeds. For the third time in 12 seasons I have finished just outside the playoff spots in 7th place in the Championship. Just one point away. In my other seasons I have finished champion three times, playoffs (unsuccessfully) 3 times and safe midtable 3 times too. Does anyone else find that their seasons end up as a "so near yet so far" experience, or is it just my run of luck? I have suspicions that the game stage-manages your form to make you think you might achieve more than you deserve...

Here are some interesting statistics: Shots - Valladolid 3 R. Sociedad 20 Shots on Target - Valladolid 0 R. Sociedad 11 Possession - Valladolid 46% R. Sociedad 54% Passes - Valladolid 66% R. Sociedad 78% Tackles - Valladolid 61% R. Sociedad 66% Headers - Valladolid 49% R. Sociedad 63% The score? 2-2 and R, Sociedad didn't score any own goals. And we had to come back from 2-0 down and only got the equalizer in the 95th minute! This game never ceases to amaze me... </div></BLOCKQUOTE> Valladolid were the bookies favourites, right? That is why they won.
  7. Thanks for the help - I am now two managers and looking forward to the challenge. I see someone else has won Serie A in 2015 - that is a pretty astonishing acheivement. I will be very happy if I can get into Serie A within 6 seasons, let alone win it in 7!
  8. Could someone explain... 1. How do I become manager of San Marino at the start of the game - I only get the option to manage about 20 major nations. 2. What is the "retain players" option? I can't find it. Thanks. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> Sorry, I mean San Marino national team, I am already manager of the club side.

In order IMO they go Form, Morale, Media(both interaction and mass media), team talks and tactics. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> Little summary here for the hard of concentration. You omit training altogether - why? It could be argued that this was a major factor in Spurs under-achiving under Jol this season. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> Although I am not the OP, I don't think training is that difficult to master. Certainly you don't end up with players eating pie and chips in the club canteen! Just sign good coaches, let the game auto assign them, then look at the blue bars. Tweak the sliders to try and get the ones that you think are important as pale as possible without makingt the player unhappy. However, managing morale, condition and tactics is a lot less clear cut because you don't get the same level of feedback.
  11. For me, about 24 hours game time, that is around a week of my real life I suppose, although at the moment I am having too many late nights because I am trying to crack the b*stard and every time I think I have made a breakthrough it slaps me in the face again
  12. Funnily enough I have been pondering a similar concept myself although I would not put it in the exact same way you have. But yes, it is definitely true that the switch from an attribute model to, as you put it, a "big six model" has made the game both more realistic, and more frustrating.
  13. I definitely think there would be a market for a more "fun" Sensible Soccer Manager game with a return to the simpler tactics and game world of early CM/FM, plus the retro Sensible Soccer characters playing the game. We don't all want to spend a five hour session doing ten games, sometimes you want a quick and crunchy fix of football management while you wait for dinnertime.
  14. Even with very defensive settings on the centre backs they do still rush forward like idiots and concede the exact same goal as described above. You just have to hope that your full backs and central/holding midfielder work hard enough to get into the gap that is left. Another example of why pace is important, it does help sweep up the mess from the dumb moves your players are inclined to make in the match engine.
