  1. FM22 does feel easier, at least when compared with FM21. In two saves thus far:

    1. Flamengo (Brazil top division) - lost only 3 out of 50 matches. Champion of all leagues and cups, except continental Libertadores.

    2. CD Ibiza (Spain fourth division) - unbeaten in 30 matches! Never happened. I was on my way to win the league and be promoted, but I had to start a new save.

Now, Ok, Flamengo is a continental powerhouse, but CD Ibiza is not (expected to end 5th place in the 4th division).

I never performed that easily in many years... As I said, maybe FM21 was particularly difficult, so we find FM22 so easy to win...

    Thoughts?...

  2. While in Brazil staff salaries are super high, in Spain they can be either super high or super low. I'm managing CD Ibiza (a semi-pro club in Spain 4th division), and while some staff asks for salaries in the range of 15,000 to 30,000 Euro per year for a part-time job, which makes sense, I can easily hire staff for less than 1,000 Euro per year! Even if these are Part-Time contracts, these figures make no sense whatsoever. Unless there are invisible perks for the staff (pizza, nightclubs, parties, etc.), I can't understand how a physiotherapist or a scout would accept to earn 1k euro per year as a part-time job. See below circled in red color folks I hired on the cheap. Isn't this cheating the game off its realism?...

Just to confirm I'm not going crazy, these are the salaries in monthly format:

Also curious as to how SI comes up with such modifications and whether SI tests them with gamers beforehand through market research...

Thanks all for your thoughts in how you see the new value feature. It helps me understand how to use it better...

Now, I'm still curious as to how SI comes up with such new features. Is it Miles waking up one morning and saying "fiat lux", or, is it some sort of team decision making based on consumer research data testing desirability and feasibility?...

  4. I'm trying to understand how the new transfer values in ranges actually works, compared to single figures in FM21.

Any guide on how to negotiate with players, agents and clubs in FM22?

I wouldn't go as far as Loki Doki who "hates" it, but I wonder how many people are actually enjoying this new feature. Please answer the poll question.

  5. I've done both in the past (kept beta save or started a new one), but I did come across bugs that corrupted by beta save in the official release a couple of times. To avoid that, I prefer to start a new save, and explore beta with a top club for one season. Then, I usually start a new save as an unemployed journeyman (regionally, continentally or globally) or sometimes pick a club at the lowest English league aiming for promotions.

    Good luck!

Let's say that the average human is about 465mm wide in shoulders:

The ref back is not looking straight into the camera so let's reduce his width to 400mm.

Which means, 5 refs is 2 meters. 2 meters is 50px on this image.

    refs.png.6a4a5a7c66a4aaf1561787d2561dba91.png

    The red line is 1130px.

If we divide 1130px with 50px we get 22.6px. We must multiply that with 2, because 50px are 2 meters and then we get 45.2 meters

45.2 meters should be the half length of the pitch.

I have no idea what am I doing.

I like the intention, but the math is wrong unfortunately. If we assume that a player is 2 meter tall, then 23 players lying head to toe would suffice to cover the 45 meters you estimated for half of the field.  Just by eyeballing, you can see that we need many more than 23 players to cover half of the field...

  7. Maybe some folks missed that Geometry class or fall for optical illusions, but there is a big difference between the images featured in the first image.

    For the same player size…

The FM image covers only half of the width of the field. (Down to the midfield center circle). Roughly a quarter of the entire field.

The real life photo covers nearly the full width of the pitch. (Midfield center circle is entirely at the center). Roughly a third of the entire field.

Relatively then, this means that real players would be 4 meter tall giants playing in a 500 meter long field.

    Quite an absurdity…

PS: Fifa 21 scale also looks a bit off, but not as bad as FM apparently:
