  1. So as an example. Manager of Watford and I want to send Jerome Sinclair out on loan. He could go to a league one team or I could send him to Udinese where he would play from the bench. He would rather go to League One. Fair enough. But I think as manager we should be able to talk to the player and discuss the moving being in their best interests, good experience etc. Not a guaranteed acceptance but a chance.
  2. 3rd season in. Now a category 1 club. No under 18s and no under 23s.
  3. Loaded a new game and holidayed until the end of the season with Watford and it's done it again. This time on 17.3 patch. Level 2 academy but not playing in under 18s or 23s for 17/18
  4. I'm playing as Watford in their second season. We are currently level 2 academy. Over the summer I didn't receive an invite to the youth competitions. This season the under 23s played in the league but the under 18s did not. Really frustrating as I had a really good first season, super into it. But if i can't develop players at my club then the game is kinda broke as i'm pretty youth team intensive.. Any ideas?
  5. @numero uno gunner Yeah I'm not worried about how long it will take me. I just want every season to be a league championship. If the right job comes up in asia, africa or the americas then I'll go. I now feel, RP wise, that my manager has enough on his CV to take on the challenge. Just applied for the job at Man Utd... lol. Fans are begging me to stay at Young Boys hahaha. I don't think i'll get the job though... miracle if i do! until then I am taking Argentina to the Olympics I know it's not in the challenge, but a gold medal will boost my reputation So basiclaly, my approach to new jobs is waiting for one to become available through a manager leaving not being sacked. So, for example. At the moment the Real Madrid and Juventus job is available. Linked with the position is Man City manager and PSG manager, I'm not getting any of the these jobs. BUT, someone will likely leave to take over Man City and PSG. These could be great teams, but not as good as City or PSG. These are the jobs I will apply for.
  6. FM17 - Season Four - 2020 Young Boys - Switzerland Well, close but no cigar. We even lead the league for a couple of games. But Basel are are just too good. We were both 20 points ahead of the pack by the end of the season and only 5 points separated us and Basel. Well, another season done, and I now have my continental A license. Time to move on once again! Looking at France now to see if I can get a top job there if i'm lucky. Will cherry pick the best job with the best chance of success as I've done so far. 7. @vikeologist Cool, got it re: notepad insert. I hear you on the leagues. The only thing i'd say is whilst I might end up playing in more leagues, I don't think it will take me as many seasons. If i went to a top five country league now I would have to settle for a really low team in the league like Watford (I can say that because i support them), which could take 2-3 seasons of building before winning the premier league. In those 2-3 seasons I could win the Super League in Switzerland with Young Boys (poised to be offered the job), the Russian premier division with Zenit, then have the rep and success to take over a top France side and go from there. I think you can do it either way. I think this way will be more interesting let's call it an experiment! I'm also being VERY particular about the clubs i take over. For example, about to take over at Young Boys, have 5 months left of season and they are sat in 2nd position. I will get the the top five europe nations as soon as I can. But only for the right club, and in the mean time I'm going to win titles to better my chances to get those jobs. edit: on that note. I've just got the job at Young Boys. 5 months and I'll have lifted 3 domestic titles in 3 years
  8. FM17 - Season Three Continued - 2019 Dinamo Minsk - Belarus I took over Dinamo Minsk after 2.5 great years at AI in Iceland. Minsk were already top of the table, unbeaten and five points clear. BATE have dominated Belarusian football since 2006 and Dinamo Minsk haven't won the league since 2004. Until the 23 year old Icelandic manager from Akranes came along. Wasn't quite an unbeaten season, we picked one loss along the way. We also got through to the FA cup quarter final... which isn't played until next season... which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If a job comes up between now and then I'm going to leave. If not then I will go for the FA Cup and continue the search. I won the league by 23 points but funnily enough I wasn't really feeling it. There was no building or personality to the team. I just came in, bought a couple of a quality players in the first transfer window and continued their amazing start. Still, thats a domestic league win to tick off the old challenge board. I think Dinamo Minsk would have won that season even if they were managed by a dog... ...or David Moyes. Thankfully Dinamo Minsk have a good amount of money, so I managed to study for three coaching badges in my time here. So I now have my continental B license and a reputation of 50%. No doubt that reputation will decrease when I find a new club. I don't want to go to any of the top divisions until I can take over a top club. So I will likely be looking at teams in Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Holland, Greece, Belgium and Turkey. Basically, the biggest leagues outside the top five. I'd rather wait for a Man City job while winning the league with Olympiakos than struggling with Crystal Palace. I will likely leave England till last in Europe as I think it will be the hardest since the foreign rules began after dumbass Brexit. I thought I'd set up IA for success, they spent all season in 8th position and managed to crawl their way up to 3rd in the last 3 games to qualify for Europe again. They also reached the Icelandic FA Cup but lost. Not bad I suppose, it's a shame they've transfer listed half my signings... who were actually very good... We won the double. Which the league and super cup, the latter having nothing to do with me. But it was essentially the Belarusian community shield. So i;ve resorted to the way above. Which isn't ideal for formatting, takes twice as long as it should and feels messy. There's no advanced option. There's a coding option?
  9. FM17 - Season Four - 2019 I desperately looked for a new club when the season was over but no luck. I had interviews in Spain, Norway, Denmark, Croatia. But no luck. I was interviewed for Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa and was offered the job, but I felt the jump was unrealistic... and I wasn't ready to do Africa just yet. So I turned it down. Thankfully I love this club so much I chose to secure it's future. I sold all the foreign players and used the huge (by Iceland standards) budget to purchase the best Icelandic players in the league. As the team was dependant on foreign talent in the previous two seasons. The new team I put together were great. Perhaps even better! The future was bright for IA even if I wasn't planning on staying. The league cup was irrelevant to the board and this challenge but screw it, we won it anyway. Then there was the Icelandic Champions Trophy (community shield equivalent), we won that too. Then... just before the season started. My additional leagues loaded and there was a team in Belarus without a manager... Dinamo Minsk. And they are top of the table with a 5 point lead and unbeaten after 9 games. I was watching the Hungarian league waiting for the manager of Ferencvárosi to be sacked as they had a horrible season and are the biggest club in Hungary. Dinamo Minsk are the same reputation as Ferencvárosi and they're in a much better position and without the need or time to rebuild. It was perfect. If I can pick up a domestic double this season with them then I will hopefully take another top club job at the end of the season! 10. FM17 - Season Three - 2018 Over the christmas break (non-season) I desperately tried to find a new job. The ideal job at Lillestrom SK was available but their fans laughed at me... who's laughing now?!?! They failed to get promoted again. We were knocked out of the Upper League Cup in the Quarter Final, which I didn't care about, since it meant nothing for the club or this challenge. It takes place before the league season so it's very much an extension of pre-season. Good warm up for the new lads we brought in and quarter-final is an achievement in itself. I was certain that this season would be a case of rebuilding a side that could challenge in 2019... I was wrong. We were in top position after 3 games and we stayed there all season. Only losing a couple of times, finding similar form as last season but we scored a hell of a lot more goals. The teams didn't fear us so they opened up and we cut them open. We were dealt a massive blow halfway into the season when the United Kingdom left the EU. Why does this effect me? Because I had Dale Jennings at the club and 2 Man United loan players, and an Arsenal defender on loan, and all four had become 'foreign' and I could only have 3 foreign players in the team, I had 3 foreign players already who were star players. I had 7 foreign players in total but only 3 slots... devastating. We then made it all the way to the FA Cup final against the on team I said I would leave IA for, KR. We were 2-0 until the last 20 minutes and KR scored two late goal to take it to extra time. On-loan Serbian Luka Belic completed his hat-trick in the second half of extra time to win it. We were FA Cup Champions! After 2 league wins and an FA Cup, i was introduced into the Icelandic hall of fame... that was easy! My Reputation was up to 35% so I'm confident of nabbing a top league job elsewhere in Europe. I had an interview with FC Inter in Finland halfway through the season but lost out the Samii Hypia, I'm now removing Finland from my leagues. I'll be looking the Eastern and Western Europe now. My time in Scandinavia has come to an end. Which is a shame, my transfer budget this season was £10k, next season it will be £350k. I guess that's what the might of the Champions League brings to Iceland, the champions will prosper and everyone else will fall into heaps of debt and die. Now I really have to leave. Though I do love this team. I definitely want to conquer Europe before going to the Americas, Africa and Asia. 11. FM17 - Season 2 - 2017 This was not looking good in pre-season, we were shocking. The players hated me, no respect for me. I wondered how anyone had any success... then the season started First season as manager was excellent. Reaching the final of the Icelandic League Cup and losing on penalties to the Premier League Champions. Put together an awesome team, one capable of challenging for the Premier League title, let alone the First Division. As a result, every single match we were playing a team that parked the bus for 90 minutes. It was the most frustrating season I've ever played. We went almost unbeaten until the last ten games of the season when we finally slipped up after getting a man sent off. After that I downloaded the insta-result skin and finished it off. Won every other game except for the last two which we lost. League Table Top Signings Will stay another season if I have to. But I am keeping an eye the Norwegian leagues as I feel that will be the next step up. Lillestrom would be perfect, they were relegated last season and are fighting for play-offs, if they and fail, and the manager is sacked, that will be my next destination if I am lucky. Until then it's a case of rebuilding the side. The players who initially requested transfer listing because of relegation are now wanting to stay at the club, which is nice. 12. FM17 - SEASON 2 - 2017 Took a bloody long time to find a job I liked in Iceland. FINALLY, I started a game where ÍA was available AND actually let me have the job. So here we go! ÍA has just been relegated, on the last day of the season no less. Their main reason for relegation was their incredibly leaky defence, which conceded the most goals in the league. So the plan is to get them straight back up the Icelandic Premier League first time. I will not leave them, unless KR come calling, which is unlikely. I won't be leaving Iceland until I've won either the domestic cup or top league title. Very excited to start after spending good few hours just trying to get a job at ÍA or KR. Profile & Job Offer The board agreed immediately to send me on a coaching course for my national C license. Which is ace, because we will be in debt by the end of the season! Wish me luck.
  13. So, I've found when starting unemployed with no badges that as an English manager I get more interviews than I would if I was say... Icelandic. Even in Iceland the English manager has had more success. Exactly the same stats, age etc. Is there any data to say that certain nationalities are more highly regarded? Maybe it's just a huuuuge coincidence... but maybe not.
  14. @vikeologist this is the reason i feel it has a very slight, minute advantage. I am desperate to start in Iceland, I almsot got IA then I almost got Vikingur. I got IA on a previous try but realised my age was 26... So I'm now desperately reloading the midway point of Iceland season for IA (or KR if im very lucky) for a sacked manager to replace I have gotten a couple of Finland club offers, but i see two people have already started in Finland.
  15. @vikeologist how do we feel about putting our favourite team assigned to our manager profile? i didn't see it stated in the rules.
