After tonight I really hope Licha gets a deserved boost. His qualities are obvious and he's probably the best defender we've bought post Fergie. Not even Varane started out this well. Maguire has never played like this.

Thanks, so it's OK to use same footed players for IF, and opposite foot for W? Btw the tactic you just uploaded still has Distribute to CBs.

I can't sell anyone without taking on a big chunk of their wages. I can't sell Maguire at all. On the bright side I managed to get Musiala, Camavinga, Bastoni, Lemar in the first window. Not the most realistic market but it definitely scratches the itch.

Not even to Lisandro? He currently has lower CA/PA, Marking, Tackling, Anticipation, Positioning, and same Pace as Maguire. I know we're only two months into the season and Maguire's been injured but surely Lisandro Martinez's attributes should reflect he is the clear first choice CB?

The greatest regen I have witnessed since I started playing FM:

I've noticed a trend in my long-term save (9th season) where regens would experience drastic professionalism decreases for no apparent reason. The players generally had not incurred serious injuries. The ones in mentoring groups were mentored by high professionalism players. My squad has high professionalism overall. These decreases have happened to one or two other players in recent reasons but they have mostly regained the lost points. Below are the only players in my squad to experience any sort of meaningful professionalism change and all of which took place over the course of the most recent season. Their mental stats had previously remained more or less the same since they were created. Some screenshots:

Ah ok, thanks for the response. To clarify what I mean, I see cases like this too often with newgens:
Of course, this is rather extreme, but this player should never have reached the highest level with those unbalanced stats. The AI should not pursue him. It would make sense for a low professionalism/determination, but high consistency/important match player to fail to reach their potential, but not the other way around. It's not a big issue overall but I really dislike seeing these "ruined" newgen wonderkids that the AI evaluates improperly.
I was curious and looked at the talent distribution in my own save:
There are 43 players with >170 CA in December 2026 including regens. I did not realize the trend existed until I read this thread. I also don't know what a reasonable distribution would be but 12/43 seems unreasonably high.

Thanks for creating this project. On the topic of newgens, I was wondering what your thoughts are on random personality/mental stats of newgens and whether you have any motivation to address it. I feel that for some hidden/mental attributes like "important match" or "pressure", it's much more realistic to have them gravitate towards a mean than be randomly generated. I do not know for sure that they are completely random but it feels that way. I know that other attributes like professionalism/ambition are influenced by HOYD and staff.
Since hidden stats are difficult to mold, and that in reality, most successful first team players have fairly conservative, or at least, playable mental attributes, it seems to make sense to give precocious newgens that have high progression rate either more balanced or higher hidden attributes as well. Again, I don't know that this isn't the case now, I just know that it feels like there are too many weird personalities with random low attributes for otherwise desirable newgens.
As for PA/CA variation, I'm currently in the 7th season of a Deportivo La Coruna save that started with the most recent patch, and while it seems that most top clubs have been able to successfully find top regens to replace aging stars, there is a lack of middling/squad player level replacements, so roughly 140-160 CA/PA. I will try your file and see if it improves. Thanks.

I have several "model citizens" on my team yet none of their pressure attribute is above 14. Unless the criteria was changed this year it seems like a bug.

Won the league and CL in my first season. I used a random tactic from Knap's thread and adjusted mentality/SUS instructions by match. Greenwood banged in 41 goals in all competition including 31 in the league. I highly recommend the tactic as it seems to bring the best out of the strikers and is more or less plug and play.
Managed to get rid of some deadweight in the first window but ended up keeping Lingard as there weren't a lot of options available in the market. All of the buys were great, Skriniar and Demiral were absolute bargains. Currently wrapping up business in the second summer window and trying to offload De Gea but it doesn't seem possible. Pogba was difficult to get rid of as well. I've found the most effective way for getting transfer listed players to find clubs on their own is to assertively tell them the team can't afford their wages. Pogba and Lingard did not have bidders until that talk was had and they actively started looking for suitors.
The new Brexit system is annoying mostly in that non-English youth players cannot be transferred until they turn 18, much like South American players for all European clubs. Otherwise I've not had any permit issues with European players.
Overall, I think getting rid of high wages should be the priority at the start. Pogba's DLP role is in great abundance and he is no longer a world-beater like in the years prior. With Greenwood, Rashford, Hendo, and some combination of McTominay, Tuanzebe, Garner, Williams, and Hannibal, there's more than enough youth to fill the home-grown slots. English talent in general is plentiful this year.

@knap Could you recommend some tactics with two forwards to be used as an away tactic with beowulf442 as home tactic? This is for a top team. Thanks.

I am probably more gun ho and P&P Player. I tend to set up control and SUS tactics just with mentality changes and a few tweaks. However, the guide provides a much better overview of how to tweak and use tactics to your advantage, and if you read a few posts starting on cautious works as a plan. Also worth having a Plan B or even Plan C tactics rather than rely on just one. The whole package gives you an armory against the AI.
Thanks for the explanation. Another question, for your wulf4411 tactic and some others with an AMC, why does the AMC role not have any individual instructions?

I've been having a lot of success using a combination of wulf442P107 and wulf4411 with Man Utd. Thank you for another year of great tactics.

Are tactics like ME23.2WOpFKna4231P102ECCC that have high scoring CBs using a corner exploit of some sort? Two hat tracks in the first two matches with my CB using it.
