So far that's been missing from otherwise excelent intakes. Meanwhile, the finances are getting worse and worse. Over the year 2025 we had a nearly 400k loss. However it is actually worse. The board has made about 600K investments over that period. meaning that if I want to have healthy club I need to bridge a gap of a million...

You can't use your first manager to apply for new jobs I think. But you can keep the save and add a new manager.

Louletano Desportos Clube - End of season review 2024/25 League fixtures | Promotion stage Fixtures | Finances | Supporters | Transfers Another amazing season! A bit soured by how it ended but an amazing run. The cup Out in the second round against same division opposition. Should have won, didn’t. First stage We opened well, had a little midseason dip and then finished strong. First place was never in doubt. On paper the same dominance we had last year, but the games felt closer and some wins were just luck. Promotion stage. We won our first game and drew away. At this point I dared to dream. Also at this point it all came crashing down. We managed only one point in the next 3 games. Still, we had an outside chance to sneak a playoff spot on the last day (in fact, if results had gone a certain way all four teams could have ended on 8 points) but it was not to be. We were outclassed. onwards to next season. The squad Not much to say really. No standout performers. The topscorrer had 5 goals. most assists 6. Also all legacy players still. No Intake player has even seen the 1st team bench so far. Off the field No changes to facilities, unfortunately. Board did not even grant a coaching course due to the financial situation. The board has injected about 600K into the club to keep us near the black. For next season they are cutting the wage budget. I’ll need a cup run or some player sales to prevent things getting ugly after next year. Next season More of the same, please. But better. I want to bleed in some of the youth players. We can’t keep relying on legacy players.

Not much more money in the league above I'm sad to report. What I find the toughest is that there are no automatic spots. you can win the league stage by 20 points and still have to prove it in the promotion stage.

I'm in portugal too. I have had zero aprovals on facility improvements so far due to the financials. So far the board has injected money into the club to keep the debt from spiraling out of control. The worst thing that can happen is that they will cut your wage budget to a point that you can't keep around your best players. They will also agree to deals for your players for far too little. in my experience a bit of debt is surviveable, but it can be frustrating.

Am bored at work, so I'm looking at some of my fm spreadsheets to pass the time. I was checking one of my player and noticed that he'd grown taller and heavier over the year(177cm to 178 and 58kg to 63kg). Firstly, never knew that happened, that's a nice touch. During the same time he's improved his strength by 3 points, jumping reach with 1 point and pace and acceleration with 1 point. So basicaly our training program consists of stuffing our players with protein and send them to the weight room. Now I was wondering about the relation between the two and how the game does this. Does the game simulate growth in a young player and improve the physical attributes accordingly? or is it the other way around? If the player improves his strength attribute that it changes his weight and/or height? Doesn't really matter in the long run, I suppose, but I got curious.

Louletano Desportos Clube - 2023/24 end of season report Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2 | Finances | Transfers | Supporters The league What a season! We started strong and kept on going. Qualification for the promotion stage was secured early and despite some rotation we kept on winning. The promotion stage started very well. After 3 wins we had promotion as good as in the bag. What remained was the top spot, which granted a place in the championship match. A loss to Sertanense (a game that I totally didn’t confuse for a friendly, no matter what the fans are saying) made things more interesting than I liked. The next game we needed to win, so we promptly fell behind 2-0.Somehow we managed to turn it around in the last 25 minutes and win 2-5! A draw in the last match secured our top spot. In the championship match awaited Sporting CP B. They had a similar dominant season, so I wondered how we’d do against them. A solid, professional performance of my team saw us winning 2-0. Champions!! The cup A short afair, but I was happy with what we achieved. in the second round we beat Moreirense (who achieved promotion from liga 2 to the top division this year) and in the third round we got narrowly beat by Estrela da Amadora SAD (also from Liga 2) Off the field No changes to the facilities this year. Our finances are not in a great position. Every request has been denied. I’m not too disappointed. Our facilities are good for our current level. Let’s hope Liga 3 brings some money with it. I’ve been awarded manager of the season. Very much deserved off course In other news, veteran Micael retires. He had an offer from us to play another season but he opted to retire. Instead he accepted a position in the training staff off our U19’s (I hope he’s actually good. We’ll see) With the promotion comes a B Team. Couldn’t refuse it. At this point there is absolutely no need for one. Next season I wonder what this team can do one level up, assuming I can keep most of the team around we shouldn’t have to struggle. Sporting B, who got promoted with us are top favorites to go back to back promotions. I’ll be disapointed if we don’t at least be competitive.

He is unambitious though, so that worries me. Maybe I’ll promote him to the first team straight away just to mentor him. Louletano Desportos Clube - 2023/24 Intake preview Well now... That certainly looks promising. Election Fever We have a new chairperson. Unfortunately he did not come with a bag of money. He did, however, renewed my contract. So I'm not complaining (too loudly) Things are going well in the league so far. That may be the reason the new chairperson offered a contract so soon. I'm waiting for the moment it all comes crashing down, but for now we are on the right track. I inherited a great group of players that are making the start of this challenge a lot smoother than I'm used to.

I’m going back to Portugal where I got stuck last year, and will try to take Louletano to glory. They come with a fantastic setup, a good squad for the level and a great reputation. paired with that however will be expectations that I might not be able to fulfill. The game seems to think we play in the Estádio Algarve, though wikipedia claims otherwise. I'll take it though . With 30.000 seats it is future proof.

Beira-mar | Challenge start After a Hiatus of a few months I'm back for the youth challenge. I'll be playing this as my secondary save. This will be my first time managing in portugal. Let's see how far I can get with sleeping giant Beira-Mar
