  1. to be fair on the original thread for this tactic the guy does say that he has only tested it with a decent side and quality players so i expected that. im using tottenham with the latest transfers update and want to try this with them as i have bought one or two players i think will go well. any chance you can pm me your tactic or a screenshot of the changes so i can do it myself and see how it goes. thanks

  2. I have the same problem but it's something that i have been working alot on.

It's hard to tweak tiny little things like closing down or mentality because it will only be a few clicks thats sets it in place and will make the defence better.

It's a very tedius and annoying thing but i'm almost there now been playing as middlesbrough with a ok defence and not conceding the opp don't really have that many shots on target.

and been playing with a very good tottenham side and thats exactly the same.

Hi mr hough. The new tactic and defence you are working on is it in the classic mode or a wizard tactic? When do you think you are likely to release it? Still having great success with the current wizard tactic but anyhting you say is better I'll definitely try.

  3. I'm really struggling to get anybody playing well in the central deep lying forward role.

I have tried benayoun, maxi rodriguez, toni kroos, and pacheco and they have all been useless yet they have all got the stats you suggest for this position.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

the only one i have had success with so far has been berbatov. rooney is ok there but does not score as much as he does when playing as the left striker in this tactic. i am currently trying Juan Mata there from Valencia but early days so will see how he goes.

  4. hi cragswfc, thought id give your tactic a test on my fiorentina save. only played 2 games so far:

Away vs Sampdoria - won 2-1 (completely dominated the game and they scored in last minute)

Home vs Lecce - Won 4-0

one of my goals came from what looks like the corner b*g. is it included in your tactic?

  5. Hey just to let you guys know i won't be posting any more tactics.

I'm pretty ****ed by people saying i'm cheating, It's a joke, do you say arsenal are cheating when they went unbeaten they whole season.

do you say leeds are cheating cos they beat man utd in the f.a cup.

if you don't like the tactic don't use it simple

I don't blame you mr hough. People need to realise that people are good enough to spend time making tactics, answering questions regarding their tactics as well ad trying to play the game themselves. Not every tactic will work for everyone or in your case people don't like winning which is ultimately the aim of this game. If people don't like tactics for whatever reason they should just not use it and not offend people by posting stupid comments. I for on appreciate the effort you put in on your tactics this year and has bought me a lot of enjoyment playing fm10 so thanks for your work.

  6. Hey guys do you think this tactic will work with R. Madrid ?

someone earlier in this thread has been using it with real madrid so yes it can. this tactic has proven from the feedback it can work with any side providing you have the right players with the correct attributes which real madrid certainly do.

might be a little easy with real madrid but i agree it is only a game and if people want to have a save game where they dominate football for years then great. i do both personally.

  7. It's a strange one because if the middle striker was in the AMC position the he would need passing creativity but because he is a striker and because the other 2 strikers move out wide and create crossing oppurtunties for the middle striker.

rooney and berbatov are both class in the central striker slot using this tactic. i am using the wizard tactic and not the classic one. with regards to the other strikers i have had a decent return of goals from all of the following in either the left or right forward slots: macheda, owen, lukaku, welbeck, djalo, muniain, forlan, salvio.

this is from 2 saves i used this with. one with man utd and one with at madrid. yet to try with a lower level but probably will over the weekend so see how it goes with strikers who are not quite as good as these

  8. I think after using the 'classic' one I am going to stick with the 'wizard' tactic.

Don't get me wrong - the 'classic' one was fine and I was winning but I just felt that the team were more in control using the 'wizard' tactic. It's the first tactic I'm using that has my team playing great football.

I take it in order to revert back to 'wizard' you have to start a new game?

im finding the same thing to be honest. while the classic tactic is good i find i concede more goals with it and games seem a lot harder to win. with the wizard tactics i have been smashing teams. liverpool 4-0 at home and 4-1 away spring to mind, porto 5-0 in the champs league final as well as beating chelsea both home and away in the league and champs league quarter finals and real madrid home and away in the semi finals.

im not convinced ill match this with the classic tactic but going to stick with it just to see.

  9. what strikers would u recomend gareth?

defoe would be good as an advanced forward and you already have him. i bought lukaku on my man utd game and although he is 16 he develops very quickly and scored almost 20 goals for me in the 1st season. had to pay £10m though but he will be one of my main strikers for 10 years +.

muniain would be another good youngster to go for and would cost again £10m+ but again would have him for 10 years. dzeko is an obvious one but is expensive and will cost at least £17.5m.

its tough to say with strikers as you would need probably 2 at least and they dont come cheap.

  10. if i am playing with tottenham no buys and no sells......how should i arrange my formation?

I have played with tottenham before and obviously in a 4-3-3 you have no room for Lennon or bentley so I would sell them off for a decent sum and buy some better strikers. Modric can play cm as can kranjcar so I'd use them there but only 1 at a time with maybe huddlestone dm and palacios the 2nd cm.

  11. Hi Tyler,

1st of all congrats on a cracking tactic. i have had excellent success with this so far and am eagerly awaiting v6 to see if it beats v4. I have been reading through the posts and seen the links to your strikers stats on v6. have both strikers been scoring a good rate of goals as in both you have only shown a screen shot of 1 of the strikers stats (impressive though).

    Thanks

  12. Hi Pointon,

been away for the last few days so not been able to get on here to give an update on the testing.

home tactic is fine but like most the control tactic is definitely not working as well as before. Just finished the 1st full season with Man Utd and won a League and Champions League double. obviously decent achievement and expected to get a result like this with a side as good as man utd.

really struggled to pick up consistent comfortable wins away from home. tried to make various tweaks to the tactic but not too much joy.

i would also be happy to test your tactic kasanowa. gareth250480@hotmail.co.uk

i have a very angry wife so plenty of game time for me this week to test.

  13. Ok so far in my Man City game i've made a few signings but still need to strengthen in certain areas mainly my centre backs i've never played as a top team from the start of the game in 09 so i'm unaware of what players i can get and if they are any good but oh well.

So far in the league i've won 3 drawn 2 lost 1, the defeat was against Man Utd 1-0 away in my first league game of the season. However in the UEFA cup i'm destroying the small teams with my home tactic and have also won my 2 home games in the league easily with the home tactic, but they were the smaller prem teams. I drew 2-2 away at Middlesboro and drew 0-0 against Portsmouth away both games i should really have lost. I beat Wigan away and even though i was only slight favourites i used the home and won 3-2 but i was by far the better team.

Conclusions are i think the home tactic now is fine, however the control is not performing like it should, in my Roma save it does fantastic but i think thats down to the amount of success i've had previous seasons, so now when i play teams they sit with men behind the ball and try to play for a draw, but in my Man City game teams are attacking me more and i'm finding it hard to cope. I'm going to play later today and create a defensive away version to play on the counter and i'm going to see how the control tactic fairs at home against good opposition, as i'm now thinking i may need 3 tactics a home for poor teams a control for good teams when i'm at home and an away version against good to decent teams away.

i agree pointon that the home tactic seems to be good (probably better than the last especially possession wise). i have not tried the control tactic at home against good opposition but my next 2 games are chelsea away and arsenal at home so will definitely try against arsenal.

ill let you know how i get on around 7pm tonight.
