  1. Just a quick comment here; I'm pretty sure you mean that your AML should man mark the RB/WB and the AMR should mark the LB/LWB. Otherwise that's gonna be some major running for the wingers, as they'd have to switch sides to mark their fullbacks
  2. Thanks! Saves the time to make them myself
  3. Any chance you could share your squad views there?
  4. So, after not playing much single player for a few versions, I have had a fair few saves already on FM19, but I thought it was time to do the challenge once again. My choice of club settled on Farnborough, due to the simple fact they had the bigger stadium of the newly promoted sides, and they had a youth setup that wasn't completely obsolete. I also decided to take on a different approach for now; I am leaving everything other than tactics and coaching to my staff. That means that all staff contracts, staff signings, player signings and players contract negotiations are left to the board. I did setup an affiliate program with Lincoln, but then I basically just managed the tactical and training side for the 1st season. All in all a very good season, that resulted in us being promoted with one game to go.
  5. I am currently rebuilding the Ajax squad with the youth talents at the club, so results so far hasn't been great. We are drawing far too many games, and after 24 games, we got a 12-9-3 record. This is also probably due to me having to tinker with the tactic for some time, and also playing players who don't really fit the Cruyff build in there, so I am slightly optimistic for the future. Some results: http://prntscr.com/lh6q2r Player stats: http://prntscr.com/lh6qx8 Team stats: http://prntscr.com/lh6r4i If you try it out, and have suggestions on improvements, I'd love to hear. Edit: I have more or less given up for now after x amount of changes, so anyone here got something working on FM19 I am all ears
  6. This is by far my favorite thread on the entire forum. It stands the tide of time, and is relevant even on FM19. On that note, I would like to share my FM19 take on the Cruyff 343, but all thanks goes to @Ö-zil to the Arsenal!! This is how it looks:; http://prntscr.com/lgszkq The main differences I have here is to utilize the carrilero, have tight marking on all players except the covering CD, and the CF is now on attack. Here I am using proper wingers, so no inside forwards/inverted winger types, and I have also either retrained or sold any wide players who were cutting in and shooting from distance. You can find the download link here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/p1lkkrsp67d0ktr/3-4-3_Cruyff_Tiki_Taka_v5.fmf/file Any suggestions for improvements would be welcome!
  7. As a United fan, I have to say that the midfield triangle is the wrong way. Mourinho uses either two holding/deeper cm/dm, with two wide players and an AMC. He did this at Chelsea as well, and my screams at the TV this season for him to turn the triangle like you have here have been in vain. If you are setting up a Mourinho tactic, the roles should be CMs/CMd and AMs/APs Edit: just saw you had Linked a tactical analysis of the Arsenal game, but all other games have been with AMC and not a DM
  8. Great thread, and love a bit of throwback tacticry and retro thinking. In past versions I found that when searching and selecting my libero, I chose to rather retrain a midfielder to the role. This was due to the sincere lack of total footballer centrebacks around. This seem the case on this years FM as well, especially when you get into the regen/newgen era
  9. @Ö-zil to the Arsenal! I have games now and again where I just get completely run over in the central of midfield, especially with through balls behind the centre CB. This was happening on quite a frequent basis when I played Phil Jones as the centre CB, and I took a look at how the goals went in. I tried lowering the closing down for the middle centrebacks, which seemed to work better, and have been using it since. It still occurs that the centre CB goes way too far up, almost past the DLP to close down, and since my other 2 CB's are fanned out, it leaves tremendous space in the middle. However, this only occurs maybe 1 in every 10-20 games, and I haven't been able to put my finger to why. Have you had any similar issues, and if so, how did you rectify it? (anyone else who's reading this thread and had similar issues feel free to give me your input)
  10. Depends on the goalie. I am still using De Gea, which doesn't have the sweeper keeper PPM's, but my backup kid does, and he comes out alot more than De Gea to sweep a few of those through balls.
  11. Yes, more or less. I have put the goalie on SKa and put 'work into box' on as well. The aim with this save is to in the end have a title winning team with just players from my own academy, so there are some ups and downs in the seasons.
  12. I've been playing this style now for 4 seasons with Man Utd, and Luke Shaw has been amazing on the left wing. I would assume that the Spurs fullbacks, or ie Bellerin would be equally good as wingers once trained in the position. http://prntscr.com/d8xzqs
  13. OP. I normally don't play much singleplayer on FM anymore. but when I do, I like to take my beloved Man Utd and set out to either break some sort of record, or I will try to live off the academy entirely for new players. I have been trying for the last couple of versions to get a 3 man defence tactic going, and on FM16 this was done mainly with United in a 361/370 tactic. I have had very good success on FM17 as well with a 3511, which I have blatantly stolen all ideas from the amazing Johan Cruyff's 3-4-3 Diamond thread you can find here: The tactic has it pro's and con's like everyone else, but the fact I can get Pogba scoring 20+ goals per season, and we are playing beautiful attacking football makes me care less about the 5-4 defeats that sometimes occur. If you want to dominate games, while playing beautiful football, I can definately recommend something like this.
