  1. I am now playing as  Juventus, and I want to have a strong focus on bringing in the best young Italian players, and the top players from the Serie A. I have however never delved into new focus thing or scouting (as I find it yields 0 players when I send them out myself). Does anyone have an idea on how to achieve this with my scouts focusing on domestic and Italian players?

  2. I have just started a save with Juventus, as I feel their squad mirror some of the (on-field) challenges they are facing in real life. I have no idea how to play Manuel Locatelli, though. I have him as a DMC(d) right now, but I would ideally like to play him further forward. I have both Miretti and Fagioli playing in those positions, however.

Yeh I would agree with Kev here.

The 5600H is better. The 5825U is probably a thin and light laptop designed for portability - U being the clue - as it will be designed for lower TDP meaning during high intensity use it will stay at lower speeds to maintain battery - this is known as throttling.

If it's just sitting on the desk or around the house plugged in - then the H processors are much better and don't throttle.

even the one linked by Kev has the U processor - I'd still go for the H processor based on the no-throttling.

So you are saying that if I intend to just use it as a normal computer - albeit a small one - I should go with the AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor one?

Go for the first one out of those two.

Although, here's another suggestion with the CPU in the list above which slightly scores above the Ryzen 5 5600H: https://www.currys.co.uk/products/acer-aspire-5-15.6-laptop-amd-ryzen-7-512-gb-ssd-grey-10239504.html

Thanks a lot! Would I be sorry going for a Ryzen 5 and not a i7, or is it not as simple as that?

  5. My current laptop is getting a bit long in the tooth, and I am considering buying a Lenovo Slim Yoga 7 Pro 14ACH5. It has the following specs:

    AMD Ryzen 5 5600H Processor (6 cores)
    16 GB DDR4 RAM
    512 GB SSD

    It's £650. Would I regret buying that?

EDIT: I am also looking at a ASUS R565JA-EJ4056W at £790. Would that be a better option. I am only using them for FM, and I only watch games in 2D:

    Intel® Core™ i7-1065G7
    16 GB RAM
    512 GB M.2 NVMe SSD

Roma have today confirmed the appointment of Marino Casadei as the club's new manager.

Eyebrows have been raised in the world of football at the appointment of the 25 year-old, who has for a number been coaching the youth teams of AS Roma. He is sure to face plenty of questions when he faces the media for the first time at Olimpico.

Casadei has put pen to paper on a three year deal worth €135k p/m.

I've given myself quite the qualifications, because, well, it makes my job a bit easier. I am clearly rather attack-minded, and I like being able to use my manager for training purposes.

I've been a longtime lurker on these parts, and I wanted to give this a go myself in order to have any chance of having a nice save game going on FM21. Never been much of a writer, and I don't know how often I can update this, so please be kind and don't be too disappointed if updates are few or far between.

I've always had a thing for AS Roma, as I enjoy their ability to bring through youngsters loyal to a fault to the Roma project. Totti, De Rossi, Florenzi, and likely many more. Each having said no to much bigger clubs in order to stay at the club.

I have a few goals for this save game, as I will first of all be trying to follow a fairly traditional (and hopefully realistic) way of dealing with transfers. If the offer is too good to reject, I won't. I will also be trying to focus on a specific type of players for the roles in my squad, and I will be placing a good deal of emphasis on player personalities.

I will be trying my hand in building my team around a specific type of player upfront (more on that later), and I will of course be trying to bring back some silverware to Roma after a drought of almost 13 years.

So. Follow along, comment, and hopefully enjoy. And welcome to La Città Eterna.

  8. I've started my Bologna save, and already no more than a week in, I have a €25M bid from Chelsea for Orsolini and a bid from Roma for Jerdy Schouten. I could sell them, but sometimes I just like having the real players available to me. On the other hand, I doubt Bologna would decline these offers in the real world. What dio you guys do? I fear ending up with already having a squad of random players I've bought myself from the get go, and I don't like that.

I would rule Milan out, seems a bit to easy with them. Out of the remaining two I would suggest Bologna - historically used to be a big team, large stadium and the perfect combo of promicing youngsters and experienced veterans. Some pretty cool kits also.

Bologna do seem like the team for me. I just like the thought of bringing back Fiorentina. And also the thought of having Gigio Donnarumma from the start of the game. But I fear Milan will alas be too easy of a save, as you say. I will give Bologna a chance.

  10. I'm having a really hard time deciding between playing as AC Milan, Bologna, or Fiorentina. I want a young, talented squad, and I really like the historical significance of Fiorentina and the fact that they don't play European football the first season. Milan seem to fit perfectly, had it not been for the European games, and Bologna seem like a really exciting squad. Any and all recommendations are most welcome!

  11. So, I've just bought FM21. I'm looking for a special club. That small club with state of the art youth facilities, or that third division club with a superb U21 prospect. Something like that.

I've thought of Altinordu, Palermo, or HSV, but I am really looking for recommendations. I'm open to most European leagues and divisions.

Yes. The Superdraft is largely for college players and internationals that enter the league that way. So it's mostly players in their early 20s. I'd say the draft is largely just a source of cheap squad/fringe players. It can be a decent option for American/Canadian goalkeepers. Each year there are roughly 5-8 "Generation Adidas" players, that are younger, and offer salary benefits until they "graduate." You might get a decent starter from that lot. I wouldn't expect to find impact players through the draft though. Those will mostly come through international transfers, as "designated players" (basically, guys you can pay a higher salary, with reduced impact against the cap) and potentially your academy.

The draft used to be a lot more significant, but I think only really still exists because drafts are such a huge part of other American sports.

It sounds like a really interesting league. I remember all the hype around Fredy Adu back in the day. But players like him don't come through the draft these days, then?

I see a bunch of youngsters in my academy, but I can't get an evaluation on their potential. Are those my Generation Adidas players?
