  1. This tactic started really well for me with Sunderland, won the first game 6-0! Lost 1-5 but had the striker sent off in the first 20 minutes, won another 3 since. I will be interested to see how it works long term as I have created several successful tactics that only worked short term.
  2. I am understanding it as he fully tried it with certain teams but then full holiday mode with others
  3. I think most successful tactics on FM 23 will be similar in many ways. Using 2 advanced forwards or 2 Segundo Volante in midfield. There is a good reason for this, because that is what works against this match engine! About my Tactic... I use a 4-2-3-1 formation. I started with both Sunderland (Championship) and Blyth (National North). It worked with Sunderland better with them winning the Championship without too much trouble and some memorable FA Cup victories against Fulham along the way. With Blyth i started off really good leading the table but then i went on a run where i could not buy a win from anywhere. So i used this to develop the tactic and the team together. I promoted the best 16 year olds in the reserve squad into the first team. My 16 year old striker scored 25 goals despite finishing in the bottom half. I made a slightly different version which had a very slight change to the formation (4-2-2-2) and altered the instructions to give a little more creativity against those teams who try to 'read' your tactic because you are on a good run. Into the second season, Sunderland are mid table in the Premier (target is to battle against relegation). Drawing most games which is a good sign as i am proving to be difficult to beat. With Blyth (Who are also expected to battle against relegation) i am challenging at the top, so far losing only one game away to leaders Scunthorpe when i had a player red carded. We play some good football and score goals. You do need to watch the yellow cards, sub players accordingly (not straight away) i usually wait to half time. At Blyth there is no transfer funds hence why i promoted youth players. Try to bring a few older players in via loans to give the team a little experience. There is no set way to play either of the tactics. I generally use the one with 2 forwards if i am expected to win, or with Blyth you can start the season until they suss you. Use the one striker in away games or at home against tough opposition. BE PREPARED TO SWICTH FROM ONE TO THE OTHER IF IN THE FIRST 20 MINUTES THE STATS SHOW THE OPPOSITION IS DOING BETTER. 4. People need to understand that the above CANNOT be achieved from a plug and play tactic. I should know as i have made some fantastic short term tactics that massively overachieve BUT only in the short term. If you do stumble on a winning formula like this it will only work if you tweak from time to time otherwise your winning run will come to an end and you will start seeing that infamous message... <Player Name> refuses to experiment. That is not just this tactic but ANY tactic. It is the way the game is made now. Any tactic like this will give you a good starting point but if you don't understand the fundamentals of the game, it won't last long.
