  1. Bidding war going on for a 32-year-old Kane right now between Porto and Milan. Has 6 months left on his contract.. started at 20m and I've gradually managed to get it all the way up here.. wether he accepts one of them is another thing

Edit; managed to get 65m out of them both. Happy to see him leave, i could not fit him into my system properly, even as a DLF he wasn't great plus i replaced him with Vlahovic whos a beast pressing forward.

This is the tactic I use for all my games.

Very nice, but how on earth do you keep the partnership lines green while also having to rotate everyone all the time due to the fitness being ****ed on this game.

Thats one hell of an attacking formation, goals galore im sure? Its a downloaded tactic judging by the name of it?

Aggression, strength, stamina, natural fitness, teamwork, work ethic are attributes you should look for. You can select in the individual recruitment focus the parameters of the players you'd like to look for.

Fine your players when they play badly and their work ethic will continue to develop :)

What rating would you classify as bad/or fine worthy? I am always scared to fine players for low ratings because if they kick off about it everything could go downhill fast. I tend to give 1 days fine for bad ratings

Would you be able to share your whole tactic for this? I just can't seem to get a decent tactic this year.

Sorry I don't have it anymore, it wasn't anything special anyway. I am also struggling to find a solid tactic, I am always switching things up. I can not nail down an away tactic I am comfortable with, a tactic I have at home and win 15 in a row will be shocking in away games. Best I have come up with for Away games is just counter-attacking football.

This is now my current home go to vs anyone and its doing pretty well for now but definitely has many flaws I can't see. Only PI's I have is Case tackle harder, Koopmeiners more direct passing and Kvaratskhelia get further forward and Sancho and the WingsBacks cross more often

@Verby How has Grimaldo been for you? I'm planning on starting a new Benfica save but not sure about starting in season 22/23 or starting in 23/24 with the sortitoutsi update. He has joined Leverkusen irl on a free transfer so if I started with an update he would be gone.

Not bad for his first season in England and rotating with Shaw. His Positioning and Marking are very low so whenever I play him I try and make him the attacking Wing Back to cause havoc up the left with Rashford. Only cost me 15m aswel.

  6. Not played my United save for a few months but loaded it up a few days ago and started playing it again. Enjoying it again. In December of my third season and currently second, trailing Liverpool by 5 points.

Few of the big boys not doing so well. West Brom having a torrid time lol. City are just average if Haaland is not scoring.

Sold Bruno to PSG for 147m in this save. Have Gavi and Enzo rotating with Casemiro, Koopmeiners and Eriksen. Gavi is always injured so will definitely be trying to offload him this summer and I might go all out for Bellingham..

Excited about this little gem, a lot to work on with him but he has an eye for goal that's for sure. Found him at Middlesbrough for 7.5m. Kane perfect teacher for him

Gave Kane and Casemiro a weeks Holiday because I kept getting messages about them being knackered, Big Harry returns from his Holiday and does this.

This works but not exactly realistic is it, i think its the clubs right to counter with this non negotible clause especially for a young player, theres no restictions to the user countering with what ever offer is received for there players.

Because every AI club locking in a 40% Profit from next sale clause for any promising youngster on your FIRST approach, with no room for negotiation is totally realistic

One of my biggest frustrations of recent versions of fm is the additional clause of percentage of profit from next sale when trying to suggest a fee for a player. I have no problem with it and I get why it's there, it's just the fact that when you suggest a fee to the club, in some instances you can't offer more up front fee and remove it as it 'greys' out the option which is highly frustrating, so you are stuck with it.

Before you make the offer, add it as a clause then click the little sign next to it and click 'Remove and exclude from Negotation'. They won't be able to counter offer with this now, but it may make them add more to the fee. When I am buying Youngsters I always remove the future fees like this

  9. Managed to win the VNL with 5 games to play in my second season in this league, missed out on Playoffs by 2 points last season,  Thiema Gueye (free from Lyon) and a loan winger from my Affiliate club Millwall pretty much dragged us there. The club is going Professional in June, looking forward to battling the bigger teams in League 2 :brock:

Sure, try swapping the right BBM to Mezzala (a). If he's attacking the space on the right offered by your asymmetrical tactic he'll get great ratings. For the BBM on the left, try out a CM(s) role.

If you want to keep "play out from the back on," try dropping the DLP into the DM position. He can offer an outlet to the two more traditional centrbacks.

For the strike partnership, I'd prefer to have to the goalscorer on the outside, and the DLF central.

Thank you I have gone with the Midfield suggestions and managed to beat League Favourites 3-2. Can I ask why you prefer the strike partnership to be the way you said, naturally in my head I thought the Poacher would want to be more central to the goal

    Cheers

Can anyone give me some quick-fire criticism/opinions on this tactic? Currently in VNL as Hemel Hempstead and predicted for Playoffs. My idea is to get Nikitin on the ball as much as possible as he's my best player. I know people say not to play BBMs in the lower leagues but I have no idea what to play them as. I have both BBMs as Get Forward to attempt to overload the final third. I could drop one CM back to CDM?

You can request a new senior affiliate from your board. The board is refusing to go pro because you haven't got promoted from non league football. You won't even have to ask, when you gain promotion to proper football you'll get a message it's been granted.

    • At the low level's I just used it for yearly cash injection from the senior club (100k being a huge amount if you get a big club). I used that cash to bring in two Tottenham academy players they'd released that summer and in giving them playing time they developed in decent players in the journey.
    • Senior affiliates loans themselves are a great way of making that championship leap to the premier league.
    • In my experience getting out of the North/South Vanarama was the biggest challenge of the lower leagues, once you're in Vanarama it's all about the recruitment you can do so put the tactics on the back burner and put all your energy into trials for u23 players. You need to find young players you can develop in your journey up the leagues AND that can get you promoted now.
    • If you've just got promoted I'd look for that message on who the top English clubs are releasing from their academy and look to poach them.

Thanks mate, managed to secure two Youth players released from Chelsea who are 4* CA compared to my squad so delighted about that. They are joining me this month for the pre-season. Unfortunately missed out on the playoffs by 2 points. Hopefully, I can bag a few more players released from better clubs like you said.

@warlock the trials are great advice for a Vanarma side.

Filter for and give trials to players with appearances for their youth international team (you'll be looking for smaller nations) and work from there. It's free and quick scouting. You'll want to sign young players who can go straight into the first team, not project players. For every 50-100 trials or so you'll find a gem. I'd recommend to do extra filtering based on a players physical attributes as well.

The best way to get cash is by freeing up wages. Fire all your staff for the youth team, and move on all the players in your youth squad, along with senior players on big wages. Also ask your board for a senior affiliate if possible, this can bring in 100k a year and let you loan players in for free.

I'd recommend looking to sign the players that top English sides release from their academy each year, these are high potential kids who can really make a difference. They'll send you a newsletter on the players being released, swoop in and tell them they'll be a star player and offer them everything you've got. I think I got 3 from Tottenham the year I got promoted from Vanarama South with Bath and they stayed with the squad all the way to the Premier league. I had to put them on 800-1200 pounds a week though which was really only possible by axing the youth team.

I think my best free signing was Mason Barrett, a 21 year old free transfer CB with 18 jumping reach and 15 pace/acceleration. He was my starting CB all the way through the leagues and it was only when we got to the Prem that I needed to drop him. That was on FM22. Absolute bonkers. The other recommendation was a free signing I made in Vanarama South, Enock Asante, an 18 year old wide target man with pace/strength/jumping reach of all 13-14. I think you're playing on FM22 based on the pink button, so might be worth seeing of either of those lads are available for you in your save.

With this method I got promoted every year using no future fees from Vanarama South to the Championship (where it took me two to get to the Prem).

I am Hemel Hempstead and got Promoted first season to the National League and I am sitting 9th in March, which is great but I have Millwall as a Senior Affiliate and they literally wont loan me any players? They are telling me they want the player to play with higher quality players, seems abit pointless to have then, they are in the Championship.

Problem I am having in this League is my Board are refusing to go Pro, I am still Semi Pro and my players train once a week. Finding it hard to compete with the likes of Wrexham and Chesterfield who have players on 4k/5k/6k a week.

my guess would be cos you dont have a u18 manager employed...

your ass man leads friendlies, but  cos there is no specific manager, then you have to do it..

this is, however, jus a guess and I have been known to be spectacularly wrong in the past lol

Thanks, I signed U18 Manager and seems to have solved it.

You need to set it here:

Team Selection (18) is for "normal games", the one in your screenshot is for friendlies. It's located under Responsibilities -> Staff, just below your manager name for Team Selection for the main team.

Thanks, I signed U18s manager and then it auto selected him for me to do the Team Selections

  15. Just started a save as Hemel Hempstead in the Vanarama NLS. First time managing a team this far down, anyone have any tips for me? Looks like everyone is on Part time contracts here until next year so I can't really release anyone yet. I moved some of my scouting budget over to my Wage budget and have about £1200 a week to spend on wages. Managed to pick up a few free agents but nobody outstanding.

Should I be going for some old heads? Some decent looking 34+ lads floating about, they just dont have the pace anymore, does it matter in this league? I am offering almost anyone with two legs a trials and going from there currently

I have a database change which basically makes Brexit non existent so European players shouldn't be a problem to get.

It kind of does.  OP is talking about drawing opponents based on previous results, which doesn't happen.  You know all the opponents before a ball is kicked, which is what the reply is saying.

    I apologise in that case.

For the OP, this might help abit.
