  3. G. Keenan's Velez C.F.- Spanish LIGA adelante- 2018-2019 Season Season review: After surviving relegation quite comfortably last season I was hoping to improve and really push myself on into the top half of the table, but it didn't quite happen, and we ended up only improving by one position finishing 14th. Goals conceded were my big gripe last season after we conceded 77 goals and it got a lot better this year as we only conceded 57 goals. Our goal difference also saw a steady improvement from -10 last year to +4 this year. I don't think the playoffs will quite be in reach for next season but I am hoping to break into the top half of the table. 4. G. Keenan's Velez C.F.- Spanish LIGA adelante- 2017-2018 Season Season review: For our first year in LIGA adelante my only goal was to survive. We had a decent amount of money to spend but I was not able to attract many high profile players to the team. I was able to bring David N'Gog in, however, and a strike force comprising of N'Gog and Herranz was enough to save me from the drop as we finished 15th. Our defense was very bad as we conceded 77 goals, which tied for joint fourth worst in the league and that is where I am going to look to improve the most this offseason. 5. G. Keenan's Velez C.F.- Spanish Second Division B4- 2016-2017 Season Season review: We had a good start to the season and played well all year giving me hope of finally getting promoted. We finished 3rd for the 2nd straight season and drew Palencia in the 1st round of the playoffs. We beat Palencia 4-3 on aggregate sending us through to the 2nd round where we faced Lugo. We beat Lugo 3-2 on aggregate which sen us through to the playoff final where we faced Aguilas. We destroyed Aguilas in the first leg, away from home, by a scoreline of 7-0 almost guaranteeing our place in Liga Adelante. In the 2nd leg we lost 4-0, but it was still food enough for promotion. League Table Graph Squad Transfers Finances New stadium was also announced, a 11,362 all-seater. A great improvement from my 1300 seater. 6. G. Keenan's Velez C.F.- Spanish Second Division B4- 2015-2016 Season Season review: We're getting closer. We didn't quite manage promotion this season after losing to Albacete in the 2nd round of the playoffs, but we achieved our best league finish of 3rd. We had a disappointing 1st round exit of both the Fed Cup and Spanish Cup. 7. G. Keenan's Velez C.F.- Spanish Second Division B4- 2014-2015 Season Season review: This is a difficult league to get promoted from. We had a horrible start to the season and we languished around mid table for what seemed like ages, but fortunately our form turned around in the second half of the season. By the end of the year we managed to wrap up our 2nd straight 4th place finish, and with it, another crack at the playoffs. Unfortunately we drew Osasuna in the first playoff round, and they rather comfortably beat us. 8. G. Keenan's Velez C.F.- Spanish Second Division B4- 2013-2014 Season Season review: After last years disappointment we took a big step forward this season. We still conceded too many goals, more goals than last year in fact but our strikers did a much better job as we scored 72 goals, which was 2nd in the league. The playoffs were my goal and that's what we got after finishing 4th. We got through the first playoff round beating Alicante 6-4 on aggregate. We then drew the B4 champions Granada in the 2nd round and lost on away goals after a 4-4 aggregate draw. 9. Just had a takeover. New owners are upgrading the training facilities for £1.2m and pumping a massive £24k into the balance. Still, better than nothing.
  10. G. Keenan's Velez C.F.- Spanish Second Division B4- 2012-2013 Season Season review: A disappoint year saw us take a step back. I felt the playoffs and even promotion would be a realistic target but we had a dreadful start to the season failed to recover from it. We were entered into the Spanish Cup for the first time and had a great run. We reached the 4th round where we lost to Valencia, which was a great pay day. I also sold my starting goalkeeper for £500k+ clauses so my finances are currently in great shape. 11. G. Keenan's Velez C.F.- Spanish Second Division B4- 2011-2012 Season Season review: We had a much more comfortable and consistent year aided by several key summer signings as well as the kid, Victor Herranz, who led the lines with 17 goals. I thoguht we might threaten the playoff positions at one point but we settled for 7th place, which is more or less where we stood all year. With a few more additions this summer I think playoff will be well within reach next season. 12. G. Keenan's Velez C.F.- Spanish Second Division B4- 2010-2011 Season Season review: After taking over at Velez, I quickly realised that I had inherited a team with only one genuinely good player, Juan Jose Blanco, so I swiftly signed him up to a new five year deal and set about overhauling the rest of my squad. In total I brought in nine new players, all on free transfers. I now felt ready to start the season. We got off to a bright start winning our first two games (both away), which included a 5-0 thrashing of Racing Portuensa. But from there things went downhill, and quickly. We went eight games without a win which left us sitting 18th in the league. From there we did improve and by midseason we managed to reach the dizzy heights of 8th, but our good run of form was short lived, and 28 games into the season we found ourselves precariously close to the relegation places at 16th. Fortunately the team continued it's up and down trend and by the end of the season we sat in a very comfortable 11th place. League Table Graph Squad Transfers Finances Got ourselves a pretty good looking youth prospect also. Victor Herranz, apparently he has the potential to become a good Liga Adelante AMC or ST, and he probably goes straight into my first team. 14. Thanks. I've been enjoying following your progress in the Careers Forum. That South African team looks like a lot of fun.
