  1. From my own memory, I'll have to go back to before it was called FM. CM03/04 is the one I remember best. With CM2 a close second, because it was the first one I played a lot back in 1995/96 (I think?). I still miss wibble/wobble as well.

Looking at my Steam stats FM2010 is my most played with around 1300 hours. I'm pretty sure my hours played on every version since then, have gone down proportionally with the amount of "player interaction" stuff added to the game. I really wish I could just turn that stuff off. I just wanna scout talent, develop talent, setup my tactics, and play the game. I absolutely hate player interactions in the game. And it's the major factor in why I've played less than 100 hours combined in the last 3 versions of the game.

If I could tick/untick some features and end up with a game somewhere in between Touch and the Full Game experience I'd probably be back to 700+ hours every version. Which would probably not be good for real life, so please don't do that.

That said, polls are fun. But considering the game is peaking at 70-180,000 players every month on Steam, a poll with less than 80 votes is kind of useless, and I'm sure (or at least hope) SI won't make any decisions based on it.

Add to the the fact that there is an overwhelming majority of negative people posting on the Internet and it's even more useless. The positive people are all to busy enjoying the game to care about posting feedback, sadly.

I'm very confident FM2021 will have around 200,000 peak players on release (maybe a lot more depending on the situation in the world - Looking at the insane spike in players around March this year).

  2. Following up on my previous post - Still !FM19.2.1BEOWULF424KnapP112

2nd season with Rotherham - I changed mentality to balanced against the bigger teams, other than that just used as is. Instant result skin used.

Plenty of transfers. Mostly the usual young talents though. SO in terms of ability we should be fighting for mid-table at best imo. Definitely overachieving big time with this. Crazy.

We've always been quite flexible when allowing people to make changes to the game - why would we intentionally block something out if we don't have to?

Yea, I'm sorry but that just makes no sense to me. You don't want us to use it, but you'll let us have it if we make a custom skin to use it. It makes no sense to not just have it as a checkbox in the preferences when the functionality is already there. Just like turning off attribute masking and probably a dozen other options that aren't on by default. Making something available but hard to use just because is... I actually don't have a good word for that..  actually I do, but I'd rather not go there.

But whatever. I bought the game already, but I'll just wait with playing it until someone spends their free time turning an option that is actually already there on then.

We haven't done it because Football Manager is supposed to be a simulation of football management. Probably the most important part of that is managing your team on the day of a match - if we provide an option to 'skip' that entirely it's not really a simulation any more. We've already added it for Football Manager Touch for more casual players, but it's unlikely we'll be adding it to full FM any time soon. Sorry.

Fair enough, but then why make it so easy to add through skinning. Doesn't add up to me. You could just add it as a not-default option.

  5. I don't understand why you can't just give us the option of a "instant result / simulate match" skin out of the box. It would cost you next to nothing to make in man hours (probably more like minutes for people that know how).

PS! Because some nitpick is probably gonna say it.. Yes I know there'll probably a custom one available in no time, that's not the point. Something that easy to make, that so many use, should be in the game by now.

  6. Saying Pleased is even worse for me, should I say dissapointment lol?

I havent tried this tactic, but I agree on this. Saying "pleased" more often than not give the other team the upper hand in the second half. Most likely cause their manager can tell them he's dissapointed, and that seem to have greater effect than "pleased". So what I do when I'm 2/3-0 up is single out the best perfomers, usually the goal scorers, and say I'm pleased with them, and "none" on the rest. If someone by any chance is playing bad (rare in a 3-0 lead), I tell them "I have faith".

This usually leads to us scoring another, and I never lost a 3-0 lead when I did this. If the other team seem like world-beaters in the second half though, you should do 1-2 subs the second they score. This seem to almost reset the effect the teamtalk had and make you score another. Mabye because the match engine recalculate when you use subs and dont take the halftime talk into account, but that's just a wild guess. It just seems to work.

Oh and good job on the tactic, looks like a good one. I'll try it out when I have time to play again. Busy busy busy atm. *sigh*

    Cheers.

PS! AXERTYRE - If you have the option "encourage" try using that always (on whole team). You most likely have that if you lead 2-1 or 1-0, or even 2-0 sometimes.
