  1. So a quick update on my end of season, and we went and did it on the final day. It was nervy though, the opposite to City's Aguero moment. We had Cardiff City away, and City had Watford at home, all we needed was a victory to secure the title and we somehow managed to save our worst performance of the season for that game. We finished 2-2, and City were 2-1 up. We'd bottled the title on goal difference, then Watford somehow scored in the 89th minute to equalise at City and we nicked it from them! We deserved it though, we were belting all season. We went out to Real Madrid in the Champions League Quarter Finals, and went out in the first rounds we entered in the Capital One Cup, which we're looking to change the season coming.
  2. Just coming up to the midway point in my second season with Everton, and I wanted to let you know how much I'm loving it and let you know how I'm doing. I would recommend it to anybody. First Season: I didn't want to come in and break up the squad to generate money from sales, so I just make a few tweaks and had superb results. Transfers: Spent a bit more than I wanted to, but think all of them were brilliant additions to the team. Couple for the future as well in Ajer and Schlub especially. So the league went a lot better than I expected: Qualified in second, and we deserved it. Romelu Lukaku as a complete forward was outstanding, and if he hadn't been injured for a 1/4 of the season, we'd of ran Arsenal closer. Pats was brought in as a back up in January and did well, but not to Lukaku's standards. Deulofeu was an assist machine also with about 20 assists in all comps. So with Champions League secured, I went out with the intention to improve the squad, but as you'll find out the finances are horrendous even with the money coming in, so was giving just £1 million to spend. Therefore, had to shift a few out including Jagielka, Besic and such, but Barkley was reluctantly sold for £60 million to United, but at least I had money to work with now. So this is how my first CL experience with the club ended up, and it went better than I expected when I was given the group of Bayern, Porto and Basel. As you can see, a huge success qualifying as group winners, albeit it looked shaky with 15 minutes to go of the last group match with Bayern when Porto were 1-0 up in Basel but were pegged back to a draw. We held out for a 0-0, in which I had 1 shot and 29% possession , but a superb defensive effort sent us through! With Steaua in the first knockout round, I'll be hopefully looking at a quarter final place then who knows! Just a quick look at my tactics for anyone interested as well.
  3. Best Achievement?

Mine would be winning the Europa League with Wigan Athletic on FM14 when they were a Championship club and got into Europe through winning the FA Cup the season before. We beat Spurs 2-1 in the final, literally celebrated the goal in my room as if I was actually watching the game in the ground in real life! 4. I started a game couple of days ago with my home town club Wigan Athletic and somehow, I managed to go and win the Europa League in my first season. Quite possibly up there with the best thing I've done on FM in all the years I've been playing the game, due to being a second division side. But it got me thinking, has anyone else managed to manager or see a second division side conquer a European competition, or am I standing alone here?
  5. This game must be wrong, Wigan Athletic have never been relegated from the Premier League!
  6. FM12: What Team Should I Be?

Nation: England Division: League 1/2 Media Prediction: Relegation/Bottom half Board Expectation(s): survival or mid table Transfer Budget: Enough to work on Wage Budget: Enough to work on Finances: Reasonably okay.
  7. FM12: What Team Should I Be?

Nation: England Division: Championship/League 1/League 2 Media Prediction: Mid to Bottom Board Expectation: Mid table Transfer Budget: Enough to work on Wage Budget: Enough to work on! Other: A team, not the biggest side and not predicted to be pushing for promotion. But with the potential to push for play offs with a couple of good additions!
  8. Isn't it being more of a challenge a better thing? I'd rather be spending more time trying to find that winning tactic etc, than be half concentrating and finding the game a breeze. I had a save similar to yours with Luton, got to the Championship and struggled originally. What I'd suggest is to attack instead of concentrating on defence, it worked much better for me. Get a few loans in from the Prem and I hope things turn around for you!
  9. Is it just on my games where in finals, the team selected as the away team only have the one stand for fans. Would you be able to split it 50-50 down the middle of the far stand, to make it more realistic. Petty I know, but I think it would enhance cup final day on FM
  10. Ali Al-Habsi needs improving in my opinion, he is keeping us up by himself at the minute in real life! Victor Moses and Charles N'Zogbia could also be tweaked a bit
  11. The board won't let me get rid of my assistant, is there any ideas how I can do this?
  12. FM11 - Wigan Athletic Thread

Can I just ask, will Ali Al-Habsi be improved in the next patch? He is basically the only reason we might survive in the premiership in real life haha!
  13. It's a risky move but its paying off. Just beat United 5-2 at home with Tevez scoring 3
  14. Over 48 months all of them, so obviously these payments will catch up on me eventually, so instant success is required (Y)
  15. Just started with the Arsenal, aiming for complete domination! My transfers were as follows: In: Carlos Tevez - 55 million Hamit Altintop - 9 million Joe Hart - 12 million Abubakari Yakubu - free Out: Diaby - 6 million Eboue - 6 million Almunia - 4 million Rosicky - 4 million Emmanuel-Thomas - 2.7 million Yes I know the Tevez transfer was a bit steep, but into October now, and we are unbeaten, with Tevez scoring 12 in 10 games. Will update later, but things looking great as it stands.
