  1. Argentina's problem in recent years for the World Cup has been their defence, there is still flaws in that back 4 but I wouldn't say it's as bad as it was years ago the attack will score goals though, quite interested to see how Martinez does if they can create the chances for him in this tournament
  2. anyone notice the "visit Saudi Arabia" ad they had during the USA V Wales HT yesterday?
  3. Gabriel Clarke has lasted a long time on ITV hasn't he, I remember him being the reporter for Saint and Greavsie when I was younger
  4. they were probably embarrassed by the keeper's "attempts" to save the ball and decided to chop it off for that
  5. with opening matches, game itself was a decent one but Torsten Frings' goal for Germany was a cracker in 2006
  6. USA 94 is a World Cup I always say is my favourite of all the ones I've seen but the ITV (especially) intro is "interesting". BBC is fine, but other than the footage of the World Cup (must have been a highlights package at a later stage in it), somebody at ITV has said to the person who made it "what do you think of when you think of the USA?" and their reply has been "eagle?" I guess people from the US might like it also the community announcer saying "soccer from the States" BBC one there as well:
  7. I know people will say the BBC ones as the 90 and 98 ones were great but this is probably the most catchiest intro song of the World Cups I've seen
  8. will probably watch the Netflix show at some point but I never noticed anywhere else to put documentaries so I'll pick this: The Phenomenon: Ronaldo on BBC4 tonight at 9.30pm, on for about 90 minutes lots of bad things about this World Cup but the good thing is having a decent amount of documentaries to watch, Italia 90 ones on Ch4 and Sky as well
  9. don't think you can say that with some people, especially on here in media outlets, I think a lot of them are starting to notice the cracks as well. if you think about it logically and take England out of it, you don't look to sack a manager who has got to the final of the Euros and the SFs of the last World Cup in any sort of country. Nations League definitely says there are problems but you'd give that manager at least one more tournament before starting to pull their tactics and things apart
  10. commital service will end with the coffin being lowered into the Royal Vault
  11. most coronations take about a year from previous kings and queens, so summer would be out of tradition but less chance of being soaked in something like September I'd say May/June more likely
  12. I think the service in the Abbey is about an hour, seems to go from 11am to midday from what I've read TV will be following the procession of the coffin from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch and then more likely on to Windsor for the commital service. Not sure if cameras will be allowed in the Chapel but they've been for most of it so maybe they will. Would say the only thing they aren't allowed at will be the private service to bury the Queen in her dad's chapel alongside him, her mum, sister and husband in the evening
  13. I don't know why people are going on about Andrew anyway, was watching something on the news yesterday (where the newsreader was looking awkwardly at the person) saying that once the state funeral is finished, Andrew will be removed from public life for the monarchy for good don't think anyone will disagree that has to happen either
  14. if you want to protest, pick the coronation whenever that happens? the problem is "he's not my king" so that's the right place, not one when he's burying his mother
  15. she died in Scotland, that's why the operation up here (which has been planned for years) came into force, hence the "road closures" because people wanted to pay their respects
  16. not confirmed but it looks like games will happen this weekend but just not in London due to obvious reasons, Spurs V Leicester probably at risk, maybe Brentford's home game as well V Arsenal Brighton V Palace is off due to rail strikes which don't exist any more so I've no idea what's going on with that
  17. I reckon they might close for the duration of the funeral and then open up afterwards they won't want to close all day and lose profits
  18. probably going to be a plane taking the coffin down from Edinburgh to London I think
  19. I've seen Monday 19th mentioned as a date, it's normally 10 days for the operation which would be the Sunday though
  20. apart from "tradition" which is 100/150 years or more old, somehow I can't see The Queen not wanting radio stations to play normal music or people not being able to watch sports when she's passed on from a personal point of view when I've gone through mourning in my life, I've generally looked for something to turn my attention to so I don't have to think about it. Surely sports/music and other things are that rather than keeping them away from people
