  1. nah, you'd change your mind when you watched the same system every week which wouldn't work with England (Villa fans will probably say the same) don't think Maguire did anything wrong as people were expecting but I wonder if Southgate might give Tomori a shot at some point, he has the pace which would work with players like Walker and Stones
  2. does he play that role for Atletico Madrid? almost feels as if it's his calling, despite the fact he was top scorer at Euro 2016
  3. thought England edged the match, just unlucky that Kane picked this point to miss a penalty. Thought England got the wrong side of the ref in situations which tipped the game in France's balance France looked ordinary attack wise but their goals were created well, Tchouameni's finish was superb, cross from Griezmann for the 2nd was pin point and Giroud's header was what you'd expect from him. No shame in losing to a team who potentially could do back-to-back World Cup wins, first time since 1962 that would be
  4. another game where the camera is fixed at the bench watching Ronaldo hopefully it's worth a watch though
  5. must have missed the Euro 2020 SF against Denmark which was on ITV
  6. or Ramos/Leao lead Portugal to glory and Ronaldo does a John Terry at the end
  7. also the Bundesliga is always off until mid/late January for their winter break
  8. on the bench, no idea if he has a knock or that Ronaldo on the bench more likely because his manager wasn't happy at how he reacted to being subbed the other day. Seen Ramos a bit in the CL with Benfica but don't think he gets too many starts for the national team
  9. something worse than this game, the Gerrard advert for Hyundai during the break
  10. https://www.11v11.com/teams/england/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/France/ England and France played in the group stages of Euro 2012, honestly can't remember that game 2004 was the one when England were leading right until the end then Zidane scored a FK and Gerrard made a mistake (I think) for France to win from a penalty only other one I can remember is the Euro 92 game where not a lot happened but Basile Boli more likely nowadays would have been sent off by VAR as he headbutted Stuart Pearce in that game
  11. 50-50 for me, I reckon both defences are ropey so there could be goals in the game noticed Poland were targeting France down the right side where they have Kounde playing as a RB despite the fact he's normally a CB for his club, could be a place for England to get something from and Lloris is always good for a mistake but the English defence has similar as I mentioned
  12. people might not want Uruguay to win but that was a great move, superb strike as well
  13. away from the decision, Germany didn't deserve to get through so justice was done in that way even in the Costa Rica game they were ropey as hell at the back
  14. I think Argetina have controlled their last two games, it's obvious somebody told them the standards in the 2nd half of the Saudi Arabia game weren't good enough. They had enough chances to put Saudi Arabia away in the first half, plus all the offside decisions and then they did what the US did in their game V Wales, completely disappeared for the 2nd half I'd be more worried about the Netherlands than Argentina, not been impressed with the Netherlands at all in any of the games
  15. was hoping ITV would be doing that game tomorrow 12 years ago, Suarez killed Africa according to them, despite not being on the pitch and getting a punishment of a red card that he deserved
  16. if it's Germany, I'd go for Morocco to win that game based on what we've seen so far Musiala is a fantastic talent but he needs to learn to shoot at points, able to turn with lightning speed but seems to go too far with the ball. They won't bring on Fullkrug to around 60-65 minutes but he's probably what they will need, especially if that defence do what they did in the last 5 minutes (apart from Neuer)
  17. I thought they were going to get Taylor to check if it was a dive as it looked like there wasn't any contact but no, it seems offside which has an automated system FIFA
  18. Canada will probably come out attacking and be full of pressing but their defence will let them down not sure about Belgium V Croatia, Croatia played well against Canada and Belgium haven't played well in both of their games. The pace of Belgium's defenders could be the key
  19. there probably is worse considering we've had 90 odd years of the World Cup but that England group in 1990 was terrible to watch Mark Wright making sure England qualify with a rare goal while the rest draw with each other in games that had little or no goalmouth action. For the potential quality of teams I mean, Netherlands defending European champs, England coming off a QF from the previous World Cup and if my memory is correct, Rep Of Ireland beat England at the 1988 European Championships
  20. Mexico could have done with turning up to more than one game at the World Cup but that Chavez freekick was outstanding technique to get the ball to curl away from the keeper as well
  21. you'd think somebody in the crowd would have a radio on them? or an app to check the scores although beating France is a big achievement, even if it's 2nd rate France
