  1. Yeah I'm a developer myself and I know how hard is to explain small incremental improvements to the core of the application. Thanks for the answer
  2. Yeah what I meant is that if there are no people like you who explain some of the ME mechanics to us who don't have time to watch every match in more detail we would be lost in terms how to create our tactics. I actually enjoy your content for FM. I think the game lack a proper manual in terms of how mechanics work, yes there is stuff in the manual but it does not go in detail.
  3. This should be a part of the manual for users who don't follow the forum. Can you also explain the changes related to mentality?
  4. So from this video he says that the list of ME changes is long...which means he has seen the list??? Mentally is reworked but not a single mention/guide by official SI staff on how and what is changed?? Should we find out our selves? Like it's my day job, find out how or why a certain software feature works lol 😂. Can us mere mortals also see list of ME changes from FM 22 to FM23??
  5. What I hope is fixed for the full release: * Central play - there is lack of central play even if you set up your tactics for central play. * One on ones - they do not feel like better scoring opportunities then other types of chances created. Only other play which should have better rate of conversion than one on one is a tap in or a penalty but that is not the case in the ME, it feels like a long shot and one on one are almost the same difficulty shoot. * Wobbly ball - I mean it's great that the ball can move/jump when a player tries to control it but it feels like there is only one animation of the ball wobbling.
  6. So all one on ones were either missed or the gk made a save...but the difficult shots went in....
  7. No, every DM should not be able to automatically play CM. For example what about David Luiz who played as DM sometimes, he was at least accomplished there. But no way in hell he was able to play even further than the DM position, he was not a CM.
  8. All those ME videos from the YouTubers and not a single dribble animation...not a single IF dribbling inside past people..
  9. Good luck OP, I have been arguing in favor of blank roles since the version that removed the sliders... The counter argument is that is that if they allow blank roles it would be unfair to the AI...in a game where there is an editor inside the game allowing you to make all of the AI players terrible and your own player better than Messi LOL.. If they are worried about bug reports then make it a setting, like custom tactics tickbox that if you select it you can't upload a game for bug reports or something.
  10. I think the ME is the only corner of FM where I think there are improvements every year, not major improvements but not minor either. Everything else that is in the game feels like it's stuck in the past, it looks like something from a game from 15 years ago... Championship Manager 01 was more immersive with the various screens from football stadiums and pitches than the latest version of FM... Simply because in CM you are not asked the same 5 questions every press conference, players won't cry for a new contract when they have 4 years remaining etc... Instead of press conferences and interaction with players to make you feel more immersed it's the opposite... Instead of the 3D graphics to make you more immersed it's the opposite....20 years ago these graphics would be mind blowing, can anyone imagine Championship Manager with today's ME graphics? But today in 2022 the graphics look worse than any football game from 15 years ago....
  11. If they really aim to drastically improve graphics/animations/ME next year I would have nothing against FM23 being just a more polished FM22.. But we don't know that. This is why there is an uproar on these forums. Also since there are no other major features it would be nice if SI staff take time to explain existing features...like what exactly some player traits do in the ME...how and why some attributes matter more then others etc.... They can do this via blogs, twitch or even threads on these forums.
  12. Well yeah but the "dribbling" in the ME is just players running past defenders or doing side steps to avoid them. There are no stepovers ( FM 12 had stepovers) no elasticos no start and stop, no change of direction or any other tricks, or even proper duels one on one that look realistic.
  13. Yeah but come on, the android phone I have in my hand has better cpu then the minimum requirements for the game which like someone posted above are Intel Core 2 or AMD Athlon 64 X2 . And FM Is the only game I currently have time to play and still I went and bought a new PC with a decent graphics card 2 years ago...to play only FM
  14. Yeah like I said no dribbling animations (no elasticos, no stepovers, no tricks) just players sprinting past opponents or doing a side step to avoid the defender.
  15. Yeah but the ME is calculated in advance. So by clicking play/start the ME is just rendering the calculations, not doing any calculations...until you make any tactical change then it recalculates from there. So if they have slower PC's then they can wait an extra 2-3 sec after a tactical change.
  16. I don't understand this line of thought, even if 50% of the people who play FM play it on literal toasters the graphics can still improve without affecting them, this is why we have graphical settings no? And graphics are just the one part of the visuals, they can add much more animations even with the current graphics, for example the ME is missing dribbling animations....a huge part of football is not shown in the ME.
  17. Maybe there aren't many other things that they can announce? Like I said I think all of their development is focused on woman's football for the 5 guys (including Miles) that want to play that... I think this will backfire unless there are massive improvements for the animations and graphic for men's football... Because if they put out another game with outdated graphics, but the main focus of that game is woman's football....I can't imagine the reaction on this forum
  18. Like I said above, better lighting for starters (FM 2017 looks a lot better than the current game), better stadiums and more animations. Dribbling animations do not exist in the ME....I repeat dribbling animations do not exist in a video game that "simulates" football. Instead of dribbling players either run with the ball ( like Forest Gump) or do a side step to avoid a sliding tackle. Does that sound like football to you?
  19. Can a player have too many player traits? For example if you have some godlike regen like Messi and he has like 10 player traits like (Cuts Inside, Runs with The Ball, Tries Killers balls, Tries Tricks, Tries One-twos, Likes to beat man repeatedly, Places Shots, Dictates tempo ) etc. Would this hinder the player decision making or make him even better? Is there a limit on how many player traits a player should have, maximum?
  20. I would also add dribbling animations to this list. They don't exist now, dribbling in the ME is the same as a player running with the ball.
  21. LOL I did not know they were redoing all animations for woman's football.... This has to be a joke right, on one side we have a game in 2022 where players like Messi,Mpabe, Neymar don't actually dribble with the ball in the ME, they just run wide with it... No slow dribbling animations, no elasticos, no start and stop dribbling, no stepovers no nothing and the explanation for this is there are no resources, BUT MAGICALLY THERE ARE TO MODEL ANIMATIONS FOR WOMANS FOOTBALL???
  22. If this here is really implemented in the ME and is not just marketing the biggest gripe I had with the game will be finally fixed!! Too long players did not position their body to play on their stronger foot, which in turn makes them look like a dumb robots who try to score with their very weak left foot on a volley.. Of course I will wait for after the last patch of the game to try the demo before deciding if to buy, too many times I have jumped the gun and regreted later.
  23. Massively disappointed by these "new" features which are just old features bundles on one screen with new colors.... Just go back 10 years and look at those games and their new features, those were games where they really did added features. With less staff I assume, I bet SI employees more people now than when they did then. And stop with the nonsense that it's just a football game there is no more ideas for new features, or that people play this game on toasters....that is not an excuse! FM2017 has better graphic then the current game!! Better stadiums too. International management is dead, set piece creator is worse than the Championship Manager games but no, lets invest in woman football for the 5 people that want to play that.. I bet next year woman's football will be the main feature, more reasouces wasted instead of finally creating a Football Manager game that looks like it's been made in 2023..
  24. Rewrite of that magnitude requires years of work, so I doubt SI will go in that direction. But it's not their fault its our fault, as long as the fans are paying 60 euros every year for basically a database upgrade and minor ME improvements but also ME bugs their strategy will not change... The biggest asset of the game is the database, which is great for a video game and the ME which is very subpar for a video game in 2022.....bad animations, and bad simulation of football, players all play like they are the same and the decision making of the players is baffaling.
  25. Weaker foot rating and usage is bugged in my opinion both in the match engine and outside of it... In the ME players with low ratings for the weaker foot use that foot too often and too good.....whether they pass or shoot with the weaker foot makes no difference almost. Also players don't position their body to take advantage of their stronger foot very often, it happens yes but it's rather rare even for players with great speed and agility. Outside of the ME it makes no sense for the weaker foot to take CA points. If you take any striker in the game and edit their weaker foot to 1, all their attributes will go up and suddenly this striker with an obvious flaw actually plays better and scores more....but if the weaker foot did not cost any CA this player would now be a lot worse in the ME because his attributes wouldn't go up.
