I have no experience with them, being in the lower leagues myself, but yeah, anyone would make the assumption that some are better than others.  Unfortunately, that isn't the case, but as I said, it'd be great to hear suggestions about what attributes should factor in, why and what it'll affect.

Sure, I'll put together a post in the suggestions forum in the next day or so.

To an extent I understand where you're coming from, although calling SI names isn't the way to go about it.

With other staff members we can employ different people who provide a different level of quality, whereas with these two new staff members any person is just as good as anyone else.  Personally I would like to see this enhanced in future iterations of the game to provide a different level of quality of employee, and I'd suggest raising that in the Features Request forum.

However, in their current form , these new staff members are somewhat of a "luxury" item.  The cost of employing them is simply beyond the means of small clubs.  Accept it for what it is at the moment - a nice new feature for larger clubs to give you additional reports and a way of managing player Jadedness - and raise a feature request if you then want to see this new feature developed to affect the quality of personnel.

That's fine but along with the lack of any real amendment to interactions with media and club staff, agents, etc, there's a consistent theme of gloss over the top but a lack of substance underneath. To stop a complaining player about a contract I can still just say "lots of time remaining" although I have seen that its limited a little in this version. So point taken on the "name calling" and apologies for the frustration as I've always loved this game with a passion, but with such little development in certain areas of the game there's an increasing disappointment on what's released each year.

Essentially what you're effectively saying is that they're a trophy of sorts for LLM and that's about it. It's annoying because I targeted staff with certain attributes and wasted gameplay doing it (and in game cost).

No, my response was to someone calling the developers lazy on their own forum. Cut it out.

I did say it isn't pointless because there's a wage cost and lower league clubs either aren't allowed to hire or can't afford it. That is a big difference for the top vs lower league clubs. You haven't addressed this, so I have nothing more to add.

I'm well aware of the challenge of lower league manager and the trade off you need between decisions on importance and play as LLM in almost every iteration of the game since 1996. But why only add something for that as you can simply get the cheapest person instead of paying more for someone who is better at the job . That point stands either way .

You'd do well to read the house rules of the forum, FWIW. Discuss things properly and in a constructive manner or not at all.

If you have something to suggest for future versions, please use the feature requests section.

    Thanks.

This is constructive feedback, to suggest that the inclusion of SS and DA is pointless without having attributes mean anything. Your response is dismissive and kind of proving the point.

If you're a big club you can hire anyone to do the job. That the job gets done is the point, something lower league clubs don't have.

Exactly, so totally meaningless in actual gameplay. You're supporting my point that things are superficial and purely for reputation than meaning anything. SI are getting hugely lazy with this game over the last few years and half doing things. Why not have SS help advise on how to limit injuries to individuals or DA's providing different tactical analysis or input on scouting reports. But when interactions haven't been improved from the terrible quality of the last few years I shouldn't be surprised.

You misunderstand. They have functions and that has been made clear. There's just no required attributes for one.

And yes, that's part of the point. Lower league clubs' boards won't allow those staff members or may not have the money for such a luxury, so it adds something to the game already.

Actually I don't, my point is that you can't specifically target staff who may be effective because there are no attributes required. So that's fundamentally a cosmetic amendments. If I'm a top club and I want the best what do I look for? For coaching staff that's obvious and I reckon for both SS and DA's also but if you're saying that attributes are irrelevant (not required is making that point) then it's totally ridiculous to include them in the game if you can't find a way to get better staff.

  7. Then what's the point in them other than simply another employee to have on the pay roll? I'm sure they have an impact in some way but with no specific attribute it's simply a cosmetic change to the game and doesn't impact from a quality perspective as you're fishing in the dark for qualities you need. That, to me, is a ridiculous addition. If you're going to add something to the game then add something fully and properly and not simply cosmetically. The face packs will be popular with photos, etc, but again only a cosmetic amendment.

This is my twentieth iteration of the game and there are always gripes at the beginning but this one feels more off than normal. The data is lazy (Man City constantly playing poorly in the first season and Barcelona a cake walk of a fixture) with some players diminished from the last version who really shouldn't have been (Raheen Sterling a prime example) . The news feed is oh so annoying. At no point has any information come into my inbox about people being sacked and jobs available. International fixtures for players aren't shown the same way either. The only way to know is to look into the game in more detail to find out or search through the news and awful social media tabs. It was a wonderful thing to have that world knowledge come into the inbox and there is no option to have that again. Tactically it is still really poor for 3 man defences regardless of what you do. There simply aren't the options to have them work effectively. The stupid thing is if they are moved to another position they'll do what I want them to do (close down and tackle wingers while preventing crosses). So why, when they start in the correct position, do they then back off and allow crosses simply because they're playing at centre back? It's utterly ridiculous this hasn't been fixed on this version. It basically means you cannot replicate correctly the Cruyff formation or the Guardiola 3 man defence or even the Van Gaal style that won the CL with Ajax in 1995. It's damn annoying.
