  1. These video refs are watching Netflix i reckon in their little room when England play.
  2. This is against the rules of the game I believe, citing an article I read regarding Plymouth, whose manager I think wanted to use their away kit at home because everything from their home kit, grass and stadium decor was too green and similar. Apparently clubs are allowed only one game a season or something where they are allowed to choose which kit to wear in a game. Otherwise the rule is home kit for home and home kit for away unless parts of their home kit clashes with the the home kit of the team they are visiting. I haven't read any official ruling though.
  3. Am starting to think that I wouldn't mind a more established team in the next round. I can't take much more of this probing possession football trying to break a team down who are cramped in their own half. It's too frustrating. I think a team like Portugal would be a nice change and a more entertaining game to watch.
  4. I had something similar. My player was a natural SC and AM L, with competent as M L. My back up tactic was a straight 4-4-2 so I was training him as M L, but still played him as AM L in a wide 4-3-3 in 90% of game minutes. It was ok until he suddenly switched from a natural AM L to competent, with M L rising to accomplished. He remained a natural S C. I was annoyed but accepted it as I had been training him in a different position, however I question the reality of someone going from natural to competent in an ability overnight unless they suffered a stroke in their sleep.
  5. I can remember watching that France England game in 04 and Coming straight in here after it had finished to read the reaction. I remember one post that summed up how I was feeling. Roughly along the lines of "for 90 minutes it felt as though we had become the best team in the world and then Zidane bought me back down to earth". Football has never made me feel literally physically sick before or since. That team though; if only we had someone better then Darius vassel to replace Rooney.
  6. before entering contract negotiations? I have identified a promising player to sign from non-league. He is on non-contact which should mean under the contract tab, I should be able to make a contract offer without going through his club first. It gives me the option to do so in the contact tab, however when I go into the 'approach to sign' option it takes me to a page which states "you cannot make a contract offer for this player You must have a transfer offer accepted before you can enter contract negotiations with this player" It then has a linked "make an offer" button, which when clicked on, just takes me to the players homepage. In the transfer tab for this player there is also no option to "make an offer", only shortlist and trial options etc. Anyone know a way round this?
  7. I think the OP has raised a valid point and the responses of some here are quite disappointing. Its perfectly logical to have a young player coming through who, as first team manager, I may think would better suit another position. Surely, with it being a bit of a risk to blood him in the first team in the new position, it would be ideal to be able to instruct my u21 manger to do so in the under 21 team to make him more accustomed to the position. I dont have any experience with 'B Teams', but I know the 'use the First team tactics' doesn't solve this issue with u21 teams and to take charge of an u21 team just for this purpose would be rather annoying. The fact the responses of some are along the line of... "well, he's the boss of the u21/b team and he can do what he wants" is laughable
  8. Does every team below con south/north with this update now only have the ability to offer non-contract to players? Ive started two games so far and both teams I chose had non contracts only. I've previously been using a similar download and before with most teams, you could offer either non contract or part time contracts to players obviously with limited squad status options. Having only non contract available to offer makes it rather annoying!
  9. I think PA should be more variable when a players form is considered. All players have a set PA, which obviously at a younger age they can reach or get close to if played regularly. I think if you have a player say between 22-28 who is playing very well regularly, their PA should be boosted in game too. I think one of the games biggest disappointments over the years is when climbing the pyramid with a small team. It would be impossible to do so while keeping a Jamie Vardy or Leon Britton type player in the team throughout the journey, as the team will always outgrow these type of players.
  10. It wasn't funny at the time but my reaction would've been if you were there. I was just shouting at the screen "YOU CANT DO THAT!" ?
  11. In the steam workshop thing there are a few decent tools which enable the lower leagues to become playable. Just search lower league. All you have to do is subscribe
  12. A 'throw in' to the opposition, at 2-2, in the last 10 minutes. I was fuming. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/wZ2qE1qYjsQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  13. can you not add it to steam again? Subscribing was not a problem for me unlike this download option...
  14. I've noticed that for the first time in FM history that two of my players 'determination' attribute has increased by 1 during preseason. This has been without tutoring activated and one of them even being a player in on loan. I say in FM history as, for as long as I've played the game, determination has only ever been able to increase through tutoring. Am just wondering how common this will be and whether this is a one-off for the players in question or it is likely to increase further?
  15. Apologies for this but have been attempting to search for a solution for this for hours and am at a loss. I have recently had to change to a different laptop and since downloading FM 15 from steam I have been unable to access the in game steam workshop with the above message greeting me on every attempt. Obviously I have checked multiple times that it is of course enabled in the steam settings dropbox and in the properties section under fm 15 in steam. I have also tried numerous restarts to no avail as well as the 'verify cache' facility also in steam which was also ineffective. Any other help would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Brilliant reply. I suppose it's pointless then having the option to contain, waste time, be more structured, stick to positions, play safe, tighten up and concentrate.
  17. 4 seasons and an average of 1 clean sheet a season. It's infuriating. I once did defensive training for about 6 weeks in a row to try and combat it. What really gripes me is the games where ive got a decent lead and despite adjusting anything the game allows me that would defend a clean sheet as best as possible, it's pretty guaranteed the opposition will score 1 or more goals in the last 10 mins (i recently lost 5-4 when leading 1-4 with 83 mins on the clock. I've only just quit my longest save in years because I was just fed up of seeing completely ridiculous scorelines and goals for/against record season after season
  18. Am over half way through with Welling and doing pretty well. They have a good foundation and if you manage to bring in a goal scorer like I have (18 in 33 so far) you will cause a few surprises. Am currently 7th with 12 to go. Young winger rod young starts on loan but returns in January and is like a great new singing. 6 goals in 8 from the wing which is more then my previous two wide men combined managed for the whole first half of the season.
  19. I normally have my ass man control the first couple or few friendlies while I bring my team together. Its normally a dismantle job for the first two game weeks. Once I have at least a set first 11, I normally take over to create my main tactic. This normally happens with about 2 friendlies left. It definitely leaves me feeling under prepared but to control all my friends to me, with how I start, would be a fiasco. I should mention I always play low level teams with little to no reserve players.
  20. Me and my best friend from school playing a 48hour non stop face to face link up game. His desktop and his dads desktop sat side by side in their downstairs study and his mum and dad were away for the weekend. I was Luton town and I think he was QPR. We just played constantly for 2 days and we never got even the slightest bit uninterested, only breaking to use the toliet and to make a tray of chicken dippers if we got hungry. This game sticks out because I bought a Portugese player who was an absolute goal machine. His name was Cicerio I think but what I remember the most is me and my friend singing his name to the tune Cecilia by Sugs after he got a hat trick for me at something like 2am. Think we got through the whole song. I would still do anything to go back to these times. Another one my friend likes to tell is when in a fit of rage after a loss I managed to get my 14 year old fist through our living room wall. And then going through desperate measures to try and hide the evidence. My best effort that my friend often tells is attempting stick the resulting wall flap back in to place using strips of masking tape. I was obviously unsuccesful and had to come clean but my dads living room still reveals the battle scars and whenever I go back to visit I cant help searching for the old wound and have a little chuckkle.
  21. One thing that i have really had enough of is squad numbers changing between formations. This is for leagues where a team does not assign seasonal squad numbers. They are instead "decided" with the team selection on a match day. This means that if i switch between saved tactics before a game, I end up starting with a team including, for example, a defensive midfield with the numer 9 shirt and a striker with the number 5. A really small thing but it really is starting to pee me off something rotten. Hopefully this could be looked at.
  22. Me and my best mate going to his house at lunch time to catch what we could of the 2002 opener involving France and Senegal before going back to school for afternoon lessons, and subsequently watching the Senegalese players do their dance around Bouba Diop's(?) shirt after the goal. The whole build up to that tournament sticks in my mind due to me being old enough to actually apreciate the spetical of an international tournament for the first time.
  23. I have searched for threads and havent found anything. Finished last pre seaon game with a win. 1 week before season starts. morale is mainly "very good" but every day then on each players morale starts to drop. Now on match day and about 85% of first team now have abysmal? I cant figure out a reason or if its something i didnt do?
