  1. Hi, im currently managing Philadelphia in MLS and have 3 DP's on my books already, I want to sign a 4th and then use TAM to buy down a contract of one of my 3 DP's but I can't ? I've been told that there should be a news item that comes up that allows me to do it but it just cancels the transfer of the DP I'm trying to sign?! Any help is greatly appreciated!!
  2. I raided Western Sydney when I left, essentially the spine of my Beijing team was Australian with some freebies from around the world as well as the better players I inherited. In terms of game time, it was about 50 years ago I left NAC, had stops with Dortmund,Bayern, Juve, Man Utd, Lyon and spells in Scotland, Spain, India, Finland, Norway and I'm currently at Malmo in Sweden, just retained the World Cup with England as well so I didn't do too badly after! The beauty of a journeyman game!!
  3. Yeah, better to build for League 2 and ensure you can have a good crack at it rather than go up too soon, struggle and ultimately waste a year. Wish I had the patience to go that low in England and stick with it!
  4. Just had a quick look through this. Great career! Some similarities to mine, I started in Australia with Western Suydney and then moved to China with Beijing. Found China was a lot of fun even if it was a bit too easy- 2 of my 3 full seasons there I went unbeaten in the league which I won 3 times and twice won the domestic treble. Could never crack the AFC Champions League though- lost the final 2 years running. Like you, I went to the Netherlands but I didn't get such a plumb job- NAC Breda who were fighting relegation and within a year I'd resigned!!
  5. Unlucky in the playoffs but great 2nd season in the Skrill Premier. I always find it's about slow building and consolidating at that level. If you don't like their scheduling though, never manage in Finland. I had much the same as you with 2 games in 3 days etc but then they have a ridiculously long offseason. Infuriating.
  6. I find my birth year keeps getting shifted as well. I also feel you've missed a trick by not renaming this thread "Seven Trophies For Seven Sisters" for your tenure there. Amazing work as always though!!
  7. They'll be dancing in the streets of Seven Sisters tonight......!
  8. Sweden is a decent save, you can approach it from either trying to get a smaller club to the top of the league or a building a big club to become a European force- I went for the latter and got Malmo to the semi finals of the Europa League.
  9. Daf, first of all what a career! As usual you have inspired me when all seemed lost! Secondly, why does the number of relegation places keep changing? Is it due to the amount of European qualifiers you have for such a small league??
  10. Quick question; When managing in South Africa, do you still pick up Afikaans and Zulu as spoken languages??
  11. cheers mate, hopefully that will get some more readers!haha
