  1. FM16 : Liverpool FC - Ran out of Klopp puns

I've been on my usual Liverpool save for a few weeks now. First season was a moderate success - 3rd in the league and a Europa League win. Season 2 has started well-ish. Unbeaten in the league, but only 3 wins from my 7 games. Lost the Super Cup to Porto in extra time. Leeds beat us 2-0 in the COC. Beaten Young Boys away and Juventus at home to take control of the CL group. The squad: Jefferson (£3m) Predrag Rajkovic (£3.5m) Clyne Flanagan Moreno Ludwig Augustinsson (£3m) Skrtel Sakho Gomez Wisdom Ashley Williams (£6m) Henderson Can Andre Ayew (£10m + Benteke) Lucas Romero (£4m) Allen Lucas Milner Jan Kirchhoff (£1m) Coutinho Firmino Odegaard (£8.25m) Andrija Zivkovic (£2.5m) Ibe Origi Sturridge Sinclair Jonathan Calleri (£4m) u21s with minimum 3.5* potential - Thiago Maia (£6m - on loan at Lyon for the season. Will replace Lucas) Bobby Adekanye Yan Dhanda Brooks Lennon Herbie Kane Ryan Kent Jordan Rossiter Danie Trickett-Smith Sheyi Ojo Brad Smith got a fair amount of playing in my first season also, but my coaches don't rate him. His one appearance this season was in the defeat to Leeds and he was terrible. I followed advice on here and got £40m for Lallana from Arsenal, Lovren went to Bayern for £14.5m, Bogdan went to Fiorentina for £3m, Jose Enrique to Watford for £2.5m. Season 2, Markovic left for £26.5m, Balo for £21m, Migs and Ings for £8m each. Over the two seasons, my total outgoings on transfers was about £60m, incoming was £145m. However, I've just *****ed that wad on Dybala for £91m, coming in January. Very excited.
  2. Mignolet; Clyne, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno; Hendo, Can; Ibe, Firmino, Coutinho; Benteke. Never had much luck with Milner on FM. And Moreno is much better than IRL.
  3. Just started my 4th season. Season 3 was the watershed moment, won the FA Cup and League (at a canter). Somehow lost 5-2 against Barca in the Champions League final. I dominated possession about 60/40, had about 25 shots to their 8. Suarez got 4 goals in the first half and it was all over. Squad is looking like this: Jeronimo Rulli Martin Hansen (full HG, cheap and not terrible) Nathaniel Clyne Jon Flanagan Jonathan Silva Kieran Gibbs Jonathan Tah Jesus Vallejo Tiago Ilori Joost van Aken Jordan Henderson Josh Kimmich Aaron Kuhl Lucas Silva Youri Tielemans Georges Hotz (first regen to break into my first team squad, Iniesta-esque Swiss u21) Raheem Sterling Jordon Ibe Philippe Coutinho Guido Vadala Danny Sturridge Carlos (from Atletico Mineiro) Luka Jovic Hervin Ongenda Mbaye Niang Generally field a variation of 4-3-3, occasionally a diamond against awkward teams. I sold a lot of big players in the summer just gone - Lovren - Southampton £10m. Was always OK, but complained a lot. Lallana - Hertha BSC £10m. Just never got into the team. Markovic - Freiburg £8m. Same as Lallana. Allen - Stoke £8m. Same again. Emre Can - Juve £29m. Rarely started, too good an offer to turn down. Origi - PSG £32m. LOL. Negotiated up from £20m and they went for it straightaway. 12 goals in 21 games for me last season, decent enough player. Sakho - Arsenal £25m. We fell out big time after he got a red card vs Chelsea in February. He sat in the u21s since that. Didn't really want to sell domestically, but no-one else came in for him. Gabriel Barbosa - Man City £58m. Release clause. He started asking to leave after about 6 months at the club. I had promised to let him go to Bayern if they met my valuation (ie the release clause), but no offer came him. City bumped up his wages from £40k/week to £170k. I had tried to renegotiate a contract several times, but got the dreaded red text box every time. Ah well. Ongenda and Niang were free transfers who I envisage selling after a season or two for a but of profit, but will do nicely as back-up players for now - both can play up front or on the wing. Carlos was a £15m direct replacement for Gabby Barbosa. Aaron Kuhl just got relegated with Reading, but at £11m is a good replacement for Allen and Can. Joost van Aken is a big, strong, if slightly on the slow side CB who cost £6m from Heerenveen and will hopefully be a solid and non-whingy 4th choice. First XI, normally Rulli - top GK, but only has 2 years to go and wants me to double his wages. Not sure what to do. 20 clean sheets in 35 league games last season. Clyne - top-rated player in the Champions League last season, just quality. Tah - only 21 but an absolute beast. 6'4", pacy, built like a brick poophouse. Monster. Vallejo - has slowly crept into my first XI having been signed for £1.1m as a shaky 17yo. Good passer, solid defender. Silva - very nice to have height at full-back, and just overall quality. Kimmich - signed for his mental stats, and you can see the difference with him in the team. Hard worker, composed, smart and a warrior. Tielemans - Jesus Christ on a football pitch. 20yo and one of the best in the world. 48 assists in 2 league campaigns for me so far. Captain Hendo - doesn't score or assist many (about 10-15 in total over a season), but never has to miss a game, and runs the midfield. Ibe - much bigger goal threat than Sterling (24 in all comps last season). Just seems to be in the right place to score. Pacey, too. Sterling - less direct than Ibe. His goals tend to be spectacular, his build up play is immense. Sturridge - I'm hoping Carlos will be first choice, but he has missed the first few weeks of the season. Studge is solid and scores, but doesn't offer much else. Carlos also scored from the halfway line on his debut in the Community Shield. Has anyone else had Lucas Silva? I signed him for £3.9m after he spent one season at Castilla. After initially impressing, he has really dropped off. I've tried him as regista in my 4-3-3, Anchor in my diamond and CM BWM in a 4-2-3-1, and he can't cut it for me. He complains a lot about not getting first team football, and refuses to believe that Kimmich is in better form (their average ratings of about 6.6 vs 7ish beg to differ). His value hovers around £12-15m, and I have tried to sell him for around this price, but no-one's interested. He's now 3rd choice behind Kimmich and Kuhl. I don't like his £57k/week wages, but I'm still £1.3m/week under budget.
  4. Finished 20/21. Won the league by 5 points, beat Chelsea 4-0 in the FA Cup and 3-2 in the CL to get my first treble of this save. Sold Coutinho to City for £40m and Sakho to Barca for £20m. Both wanted to go and were no longer first choice. Plus, decent money. Not bringing anyone in because the squad was too big last season anyway. And I still can't get a new stadium, despite having a balance of £110m at the moment.
  5. It's been a while since I posted. Still going with my pre-January save, and coming to the end of 2020/21. The league is tight: 1st - Liverpool P26 66pts +63GD 2nd - Man Utd P26 65pts +49GD 3rd - ChelseaP25 62pts +39GD My next league game is at Stamford Bridge, so it's a big one. I also face Utd and Arsenal at Anfield and Everton at Goodison before the end of the season. I'm hoping an exciting end, because the league normally gets wrapped up with a couple of games to go. Champions League isn't exciting yet, I walked an easy group and drew 1-1 at the Bernabeu in my first leg of the knockout stages, I feel like I should be able to beat them at home. Still in the FA Cup after a fairly easy run, but face City at home in the next round. I still haven't won the Cup in this save, so I'd like to do it, but obviously the league and ECC will take priority. I have a big, talented squad so I should be able to manage, if injuries can hold off. I've finally got my 3 best CBs back after long injuries, if I can avoid that sort of thing I should be OK. The squad then: GKs Jeronimo Rulli - top class for six years now. Real Madrid are perpetually interested but I have the money and trophies to keep them at an arm's length. Peter Fischer - good back-up, but can't force his way into the team. Seems happy for now. CBs Mamadou Sakho - on the decline now, but has been a rock throughout his time. Vice-Captain. Eder Balanta - obviously excellent. Kurt Zouma - was dead cheap and has occasionally been first choice in his three seasons here. Ludger Schade - record signing (£52m). Is top class and has been the reason that Sakho has lost game time. Tito Lopes - overpaid (£19.25m) but has potential. Prone to mistakes though. WBs James Carroll - a bargain at £775k from Southampton. Got his chance last season through an injury crisis and has displaced Flanno. Rodrigo Rosalino - over-estimated his potential and paid £10.25m but is now first choice. Jon Flanagan - Steady. Alberto Moreno - our most creative WB, and will be here for a long time. Davide Santon - overpaid (£19m) during the injury crisis I mentioned, but is better than the 1.5* rating my coaches give him. Rui Filipe Guerra - cost nothing and is OK. Spent three seasons on loan in the Championship before I gave him a shot, but he's OK. MCs Jordan Henderson - Club captain since 2015 and is consistently excellent, always among the top performers in the league and gets a lot of goals and assists. Mateo Kovacic - my first big signing on the save, and top earner, and has been worth every penny. Our most creative midfielder by a distance. Lucas Romero - isn't 100% suited to the DLP role he is forced into, but is a ridiculously good player. Joe Allen - yep, still here. Steady, a role model, a professional, and cheap. Martin Odegaard - upsetting that he can't nick Kovacic's spot because he is good enough, but not as consistent. Quality. Jordie Clasie - a bargain at £1.6m, performs well when he plays and is a good pro. Haydn Bloxham - probably not good enough, but he's the best regen I've had in our u18s, but I'm sticking with him. Willian Grando - a big disappointment so far, but wasn't expensive (£1m). STs Ronaldo - holy crap. A monster. Don't know how my scouts missed him for so long, but I finally found him when randomly checking S American clubs. Just signed for £22m. Raheem Sterling - this has been his best season for a while, but has always been a key player. Coutinho - Injury-prone, but is quality when he's on form. Luka Jovic - waaaay injury-prone, but has 63 in 67 in the EPL. Unfortunately that's been over 4 seasons because he can't stay fit. Axel Narbiloni - another newbie, signed for £2.3m(!) from Porto in January. Harry Wilson - Has been in the first team for 4 years. Years 1 and 3 he was on fire, in 2 and 4 he hasn't been able to stay fit. Eliseo Avramides - Cheap (£10.25m) and has the quality, but not the consistency. Hugo Becerra - Totally unsuited to ST, but he just stood out on all the scout reports, and then Everton were in for him, so I had to get him. Only cost £7m. Danny Sturridge - Fading fast now. Has scored 5 in 17 league games in the last two years, but had 101 in 143 in the 5 years before that. Trying to offload him in the summer. So that's where I'm at. Can't get youth intakes at all. Fingers crossed for this year. EDIT: Link to screenies of all the players. https://imgur.com/gallery/LlEaM/new EDIT 2: Jovic just returned from a broken foot. Scores 2 minutes after coming on.
  6. Back to give another rambling update on my save. In November 2017 and I now have my best squad to this point. Top of the league with 8W 2D 0L, 31 goals, 6 conceded. Only defeat this season was 0-1 away at Bayern in the CL, but that was the first game and after 4 games I'm top with 9 points. Stand-out results have been 9-0 against Spartak Moscow, 7-1 against Newcastle, 7-0 against Arsenal and a 6-3 away at QPR in the League Cup with a team of kids. My squad is like this, organised by what my assman considers their best position, and I'll add where else I play them: GK - Jeronimo Rulli GK - Mamadou Samassa - decent, cheap Senegalese international who I got on a free DR - Matteo Darmian - can play anywhere in defence DR - Jon Flanagan - occasionally plays on the left DL - Alberto Moreno DC - Eder Balanta DC - Mamadou Sakho DC - Andre Wisdom - has finally forced through his move, but I have an incredible regen lined up to take his place DM - Kristoffer Ajer - also plays as a DLP(D) when I use a flat 3 midfield MC - Lucas Romero - also plays DM MC - Sascha Horvath - can play MR/L AMR/L/C and up front, but is back up for all positions MC - Mateo Kovacic - occasionally plays AMC if I play 3-4-2-1 with two AMCs MC - Captain Hendo MC - Joe Allen MC - Emre Can - also plays DMC, CB in a 3 man defence, and LB/LWB. AND HE'S AMAZING AT EVERYTHING. AMR - Harry Wilson - will do a good job on either wing or up front AMR - Lazar Markovic - same as Wilson AML - Raheem Sterling - same again AMC - Coutinho - plays up front or MC as a roaming playmaker AMC - Martin Odegaard - same as Countiho ST - Danny Sturridge ST - Divock Origi ST - Luke Jovic Origi has 11 goals, Sturridge has 10, Kovacic, Wilson and Jovic all have 8. Other stand-out performers are: Flanagan 8.14 Moreno 7.93 Wisdom 7.74 - just as he forces through a move he becomes undroppable And I will, as ever, give a mention to Emre Can. He has an average rating of 7.54 from 14 games, his worst rating is 7.2, he has made 97 tackles and 98 interceptions and has 501/598 passes completed. His best role, for me, is as a BPD(X) in the middle of a back 3 against a deep-lying lone striker. He has dominated Lewandowski, Suarez, CRonaldo, Falcao and Aguero in recent memory in this role. He's incredible. Having a fun time with this game.
  7. Emre Can has become one of my favourite players. Absolutely beast of a man and ridiculously versatile. Even after 3 years as a regular (25+ starts) he is happy to sign a new contract on just £48.5k. With Henderson and Kovacic, he has formed the best midfield in Europe. All three are incredibly physical and complement each other perfectly in terms of their tactical strengths and different playing styles. The front 3 is picked from Sturridge, Sterling, Coutinho, Origi, Wilson (developing nicely), Markovic and Balotelli (looking to sell him in the summer as he has slipped way down the pecking order in the second half of this season). I have Luka Jovic and Kristoffer Ajer joining in a few weeks, and I'm still looking for takers for Bender and Florenzi. Lovren has agreed to join Inter for £12.5m, which I'm happy enough with. I'll have Sakho, Balanta, Wisdom, Darmian, Emre Can and Ajer at CB, although Sakho, Balanta and Wisdom are the only ones I consider to be proper CBs. Despite having my promising Portuguese LB to back up Alberto Moreno, he is only 16, and so I'm considering trying to bring in a top quality LB as it's the only position I don't have a 3* player in. My scouts only rate Alaba and Asamoah that highly. I'm not interested in the likes of Gaya or Silva because I really want a finished product here, to hold the position until Rosalino is good enough to push Moreno out of the picture. I ended up winning the leagues with 3 games to go, put together an amazing run of 10 wins, powered by Sturridge's 12 goals, after my humbling at the Bernabeu. Last game of the season is at Goodison, both relieved and disappointed that it didn't go down to the wire. Next season I have to challenge in more competitions. I fell at the the first KO hurdle in every cup competition this season, which no doubt contributed to our league success.
  8. Looks like I might finally win the league, in my 3rd season. Currently 3 points ahead of Utd with 7 games left, but they have ECC and FA Cup. I have neither. I have decided I hate 2-legged ties on this game. Way too many massive swings. This time it was against Real Madrid in the 1st KO stage. I beat them 1-0 at Anfield. Went to the Bernabeu with a tried and trusted, defensively solid 4-1-4-1 and was 5-0 down in 40 minutes. Ended up losing the game 6-2. It's especially disappointing because I'd had two consecutive semi-finals and was trying to get out coefficient up because we had 3 tough groups in a row. Never mind. Just beat Swansea 7-0, DStudge getting 5 of the goals to take his league tally to 15 from 23. I have a few promising young players coming through the u18s and u21s now, looking to blood them in next season. Already started with Harry Wilson after I recalled him from a shambles of a loan spell with Fulham, where he played 3 games in 5 months despite them telling me he would be a key player. He's done well for me, with 2 goals and 3 assists from 6(4) games. Also gave a few games to a 16yo Portuegues left back because Moreno was injured and he did surprisingly well, but he's back in the u21s for now because I only have one game a week for the rest of the season so he probably won't play. And I got a potentially world class keeper from Brondby in my youth intake this season, so I'm hoping to wrap the league early to give him a couple of games. Finally, trying to offload Lovren, Balotelli, Florenzi and Bender in the off-season. They're all being tracked by clubs but I can't get any offers in. I've never been good at selling players, any advice?
  9. I just had one of those. 1-1 away at Newcastle they had 3 shots, 1 on target and 34% possession. I had 8 CCCs. At one point, Sturridge was clean through and put his shot closer to the corner flag than the goal. I hate blaming the game, but it is so frustrating. Edit: Doesn't matter, Utd lost at Southampton in the late KO so I stay top. I love this game.
  10. I have Jaap Stam. He's great.
  11. I'm really enjoying my game. I'm in my 3rd season and still haven't won a thing, but I'm taking it a bit easier, using downloaded tactics just to change things up, trying to sign some more experienced players rather than diving into youth development, stuff like that. With that last point in mind, I have my entire u21 squad out on loan and am only using the 24 (I think) players in my senior squad. I have a couple of u21s - Odegaard, Harry Wilson, Sascha Horvath - that I am keeping a keen eye on, and a solitary imported regen in my u18s amongst a sea of local and Danish waste, a young Czech DM/MC of 2.5-4.5* potential, who I signed for £400k. I still don't let my DoF (Stewart Houston) manage any transfers, but all staff contracts are handled by him, I got Angel Vales as Head of Youth and he handles all the admin for the younger players as well, and Dave Fallows rules the roost over the scouting network, although I am thorough in using that network because it's first time I've had the variable attributes on. Recently I've been using a downloaded tactic called Eradicate 2-5-3, which has a pair of CDs, one X one D, two CWBs on S, two RPMs flanking a DLP on D and three DLFs on A. It worked really well in a brief test I tried with Barcelona, and it's been OK for Liverpool, although it doesn't suit Sturridge especially well. Neither does the slightly tweaked copy of Sabine's post just up the page that I have been phasing in. In fact, Coutinho has outperformed Sturridge, Balotelli and Origi as the F9 in that formation, which means 3 talented, expensive, and varyingly temperamental strikers on the bench. Balotelli is on an awful lot of money, and does take a lot of man-management but when he's up for it, he's fantastic. Has been my top scorer with 49 goals in 77 league games for the club in 2 and a half season. I also use 3-4-1-2, but mainly against flat 4-4-2s because it's so easy. And it lets me give game time to two of those 3 goal machines I have bursting to show what they can do. Another stand-out has been Captain Hendo. He will get a minimum 7.5 in pretty much any position. Scores massive goals for us, runs the midfield, covers his full-back, tracks runners, splits defences, does everything. Hasn't missed a league game in 21 months, and has missed a total of 5 days, from a gashed leg, in the 2 and a half seasons I've played. So, entering January 2017, I'm sitting 2nd, 5 points behind Man Utd - for whom Falcao is tearing the league up with 18 goals in 12 games. I have offered a pre-contract to Jese Rodriguez of Real Madrid. Not sure why as I have a ton of excellent players, as well as Odegaard, in his position. I think I'll probably withdraw the offer. Profitable as he may be, he would be an expensive (£70k a week) rotation player, and I can't risk unhappiness, the pile of egos in my squad is tottering enough. Andre Wisdom has been promised he'll be sold. It's irritating because he's homegrown, but he's not good enough this time around. I can probably fetch £10m or so from someone like Arsenal who are always sniffing around my squad. I was thinking of making my next CB signing an u18 that I can make HG because I would still have Sakho, Balanta, Can, Darmian and Bender who can all play CB. So I may splash out on a classy-looking regen I have my eye on. Quick squad list: Rulli Curci - leaving on a free Wisdom Balanta Darmian Lovren Sakho Moreno Flanagan Bender Kovacic - outstanding and my only big buy, at £33m Coutinho Henderson Lucas Romero Emre Can - always feel like I'm forcing him into the team, but his physical prowess build such a steady platform, wherever he plays Allen - consistent, never moans, tied down to £48.5k/week until 2020 Suso Sterling Markovic Sturridge Origi Balotelli Looking at that, and bearing in mind I'll have Odegaard and Horvath next season, I think I'll definitely withdraw my contact of for Jese. I'm just always looking to get a good free transfer, but I just have a feeling he won't be worth the hassle or the money. I think I'm pretty well-stocked for a few years. Even with small defence, I have so many players that can cover multiple positions it means I'm never short. But like I say, I haven't won anything. I've reach two Champions League semi-finals and finished 4th and 3rd in the league. Can't remember about domestic cups. This time round, I'm out of the League Cup - who cares? - my next game is at the Emirates in the FA Cup 3rd round. Don't think I care though. I have a good shot at the league with my best squad to date (on this save), but it is a small squad. I think I'll send out the likes of Wisdom, Allen, Suso etc and hope they give it a go. I finished in my CL group so I have Real Madrid in the 1st KO round. Haven't faced them yet. I fear I may get battered, but I want to be able to put out a full strength team. And, like I said, I think if I cut the silly results (0-2 against Watford, 1-1 at home to Palace etc) I can take the league this time. Chelsea and Utd are the best domestic teams, with the best manager and the most carefree spending policy, respectively. City sacked Pellegrini, hired then sacked Unai Emery, now have our Rafa who is slowly bringing them up the league after they were 18th after 11 games. Arsenal are being Arsenal, Spurs finished 2nd in 2015, 11th in 2016, are currently 7th, who knows what they are doing. Everton and Stoke have been good. Villa are in the Championship. No-one else is up to much, teams have come up and gone back down and vice-versa. The usual managerial merry-go-round every November and June. I think it's the most fun I've ever had on FM, and I'm putting it down a few things. First, I'm not micro-managing everything. Two, I'm trying to keep transfers realistic, not selling the entire spine of my team and replacing it with 19 year olds who I know are going to destroy, and 3 - the tactics. I have always been aware that I'm not great at FM. I could never do LLM, I relied way too heavily on advice off of forums and y'know -10 shortlists and stuff, but I always persevered with my own tactics, which was based entirely around the top names in my squad, after I exploited the finances on the gamble that I would win enough to pay the debts, because I had the best players. Now, I steal the tactics and do all the other hard work. The scouting, I like it a lot, never done it properly before. Had guys out, but would just snap up 20 or 30 regens every couple of years and then cherry pick the top ones, throw the others away. I like narrowing down my search and tracking players. TL;DR Fun game. I'm not very good at it. Really enjoying it.
  12. I'm now in January 2016, 3rd with 45 points behind Utd (48) and Chelsea (49). I was top until a poor Christmas period. I've settled on a 3-4-2-1 at the moment but it leaves a selection problem regarding Sterling; I've been lining up like so: Rulli; Wisdom, Can, Sakho; Markovic, Henderson, Bender, Moreno; Coutinho; Origi, Sturridge. The problem is, I went with the formation when Sterling was out of action and he doesn't fit perfectly in any of the three positions I've tried him in - MR, AMC and ST, as W(S), Treq and AF(A). It's not a disaster - he's rotating in and out of all three, but he's not making any position his own. I've just brought in Kolarov on loan because I didn't have any natural cover at LB if I wanted to play 4 at the back, and he scored on his debut which was nice. I like him a lot IRL but have never used him on FM before. Top performers are: Origi 7.46 14gls Markovic 7.26 4gls 8 assists Sakho 7.2 Sturridge 7.19 15gls 9 assists Most of the squad have been excellent, to be honest. Wilson, Horvath and Odegaard are all progressing really well and getting the odd game with the first team. Looking to offload Rescaldini and Ings, and happy to listen to offers for Lallana and Balotelli, not because I don't like them, but they are by no means first choice in their positions, which means they are overpaid. I have Alessandro Florenzi joining on a free at the end of the season, to compete with Can (sort of), Henderson, Sven Bender, Allen, Lucas Romero and Sergi Roberto for the midfield places. I just tied Allen down to a new 5 year deal - only £48.5k a week! - which means I'll probably have to offload Sergi Roberto. I paid £3.2m for him one year ago, he's now valued at £8m but in 19 league game he has one assist and averaged 6.73 in 14/15 and 6.7 in this season. And Milan are interested, I tried to get £20m off them, but they backed out after they offered £14.5m, but they're still interested. I would have to pay £7.5m to bring Florenzi earlier, which I can't decide if I would need to do, or try and borrow Mario Suarez - transfer listed at Atletico - just to make up the numbers until the end of the season. Other competitions: ECC - I finished 4th in season one, so faced Inter Milan in a playoff. They somehow took a 2-0 win at the San Siro despite me dominating the game, but I spanked them 5-0 at Anfield. Drawn in a group with Barcelona - excited to test myself against them - Zenit - confident but slightly wary of them - and Young Boys - a good chance to rotate the squad. It didn't turn out exactly how I thought it would. He took a 1-1 draw away at Zenit which I was slightly disappointed with because I thought we has edged the game. Then Luis Suarez grabbed at hat-trick on his return to Anfield, his team hammering us 4-2 to leave us joint bottom with 1 point from 2 games. Next up, we beat Young Boys away, 2-0. It was easy, so I was confident for when they visited Anfield, but they gave us a game and took a 2-2 draw. I have 5 points, next game is Zenit. If I beat them, I am guaranteed 2nd place in the group. I am 2-0 up after 3 minutes, from Origi and Markovic, but by half-time it's 2-2. I give them a roasting, and Suso scores a free kick on 47 minutes. They batter me for the last half hour but I hold on to win the game and qualify from the group. So, I get to play at the Nou Camp knowing that the result means absolutely nothing. Barca have 12 points, I have 8, Zenit have 4. I decide to use the 3-4-1-2 for the first time, due to a lack of forwards available. I hammered them, 5-1, their goal was an 89th minute consolation. Emre Can played in the middle of the back three as a BPD(X) for the first time and absolutely killed it, Suarez didn't get a sniff until Can slipped to let him in for his goal. He made 2 key headers, 3 key tackles, 16/16 tackles completed, 12/12 successful interceptions, and just that one mistake. He's been in the team ever since, and is even making a case for playing CB when I use the back 4. Oh, and I drew RB Salzburg in the first knockout round. FA Cup - Beat Bristol City 4-2 in a replay at Anfield after they held me 1-1. Man Utd away in round 4. Capital One Cup - lost to Watford in the 3rd round. Don't care. It's been a good first half of the season. This is the first proper save I've done on FM15 and I'm really enjoying it.
  13. I wouldn't. Maybe try and get him as u18's coach or AM and then get him working on his badges.
  14. I always negotiate to a low contract because I assumed it comes out of the wage budget, so I'm on £23k a week at Liverpool.
  15. 10.0

I've never had a 10.0 Balotelli got 4 goals and an assist for me the other day and only got 9.6
