First started playing football management games back in the 80’s so year I’m an old timer 😜.. it all started on a game called the boss on 48k zx spectrum, the director, the double and a host of other football games. Then one day came Championship Manager and then football manager.. my favourite FM team to manage is Nottingham Forest despite being a Liverpool fan. Just like Liverpool I didn’t win to many premier league titles. My all time best player was probably Alesio Cerci, was a beast on one of my Forest saves..

  1. It’s got decent reviews it plays games such as PUBG ok, Iv never heard of it and don’t know anyone that’s tried it apart From the gaming people who have reviewed it. It’s worth trying for a one off payment of £27 for 1 months membership so may look into it.
  2. @Smurf Hi mate, just wondering if you've heard of the Shadow service and if so would you think it’s worthwhile solution for people wanting a powerful pc to play FM or games in general but can’t afford to spend 2k on a powerful gaming rig? Apparently it costs to £27 per month £324 per year to rent the shadow system which can stream games back to a bog standard pc proving you have 15mb/S internet connection https://shadow.tech/usen?gclid=CjwKCAjwio3dBRAqEiwAHWsNVQFojhf9J4VvuIkAOzbhdgDxyJaBUMF-Bv4dYbGCGMvPL1v8zINBNRoCRUsQAvD_BwE
  3. Nice case, will run any game with ease with plenty spare in the tank..
  4. Another useful site to check everything from Cpu’s to Gpu’s https://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=35350&canMyGpuRunIt=Football Manager 2018
  5. Football manager minimum specs. CPU: Intel Pentium 4, Intel Core or AMD Athlon – 2.2 GHz + VIDEO CARD: Intel GMA X4500, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT or AMD/ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 – 256MB VRAM. 2Gb Ram Dont get many intel chipped pc’s Cheaper than this. This pc has good reviews and only £550. It doesn’t come with OS. Iv added couple bundle offers just for comparison. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B074J98ZCG/ref=sspa_mw_detail_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1#featureBulletsAndDetailBullets_secondary_view_div_1536348784876
  6. The 2.8 base is better, taking Ram speed into account too, Turbo speed will only happen when the Cpu is operating under its maximum recommendation of thermal limit which means the faster the Cpu works the hotter it gets. Turbo speed isn’t se in stone, you’d be better off getting an i5 or i7 chip capable of being overclocked as with an overclocked chip you would have for example 3.8 or 4.1 operating on all cores 4 or 6 cores.. the K chips do cost more tho.
  7. This one is slightly more but 8th gen as apposed to 7th Gen.. https://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/asus-rog-strix-core-i7-8750h-16gb-1tb-256gb-ssd-17.3-inch-geforce-gtx-107-gl703gs-e5011t/version.asp
  8. @Smurf because I’m a fan of the i7 and ASUS I like this, apparently it has a saving of £400. Smurf will have a better opinion if it’s good value or not? https://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/asus-gl702vs-core-i7-7700hq-16gb-1tb-256gb-ssd-geforce-gtx-1070-17-inch-gl702vs-gc287t/version.asp?refsource=LDadwords&refsource=ldadwords&mkwid=sodtiYPbt_dm&pcrid=280237359994&product=GL702VS-GC287T&pgrid=58611335682&ptaid=aud-421842933980:pla-464540947670&gclid=CjwKCAjw_b3cBRByEiwAdG8WqmkenQnsu6kxk0YIb9Hrc_TZhZ9Ors7OJ-CRS23nULMFSwiDC3VdhRoC1icQAvD_BwE
  9. What makes me laugh when I see items like this is the 97p. 😜. How do these companies decide on the odd 97p?
  10. Sorry bud, I wasn’t trying to suggest you recommend pc’s with user sell by dates 😳.. I was just explaining to the other guy why I think 8th gen is better than 7th.. Iv notices 90% of people requiring pc upgrade are people with low budgets.. the only thing I can’t make my mind up about is the GPU.. there’s so many and many of them do the same job..😐
  11. Can’t deny that how ever Depends what performance you want from a pc vs cost.. which is why I said it depends what you can afford and also said technically things evolve very fast. Some of the low end cheap models haven’t got room for performance upgrades, From personal experience I wouldn’t want to spend £600 today and have to keep spending 12 months later, I’d rather buy something that will last. I wouldn’t buy a pc barely over minimum spec to run FM but that’s just me 👍.. I’d rather pay more for a better model which will last longer all bar hardware failure.
  12. Here’s a comparison of the i5 7th gen at £158. The i5 8th gen at £193.99 and the i7 8700k 8th gen £349.99 right so we know FM doesn’t use multi cores so Spending £193 on i5 8th gen and £350 on the i7 is £40 and and £190 more respectively.. but having a faster cache speed does improve FM, the i5 7th gen cache is 6mb, the i7 k is 12mb cache . i5 7400 7th gen 3GHz maximum on 4 cores and 4 threads 6Mb cache z270 maximum ram 2400mhz i7 8700k 3.7Ghz out of the box can overclock on all 6 cores/12 threads at a stable 4.7Ghz - 5Ghz 12 Mb cache z370 3200mhz Ram + the question is can you afford the extra money for the i7 and compatible MoBo if required for better performance. so taking into account processor speed, cache Speed and Ram Speed the i7 is going to be faster than the i5 but it costs more. playing FM on the i5 woukd be like driving a car capable of 100mph at say 70-80mph whilst playing FM on i7 woukd be like driving a car at 100 mph on a car capable of 150+ mph. You can’t max out it’s full speed which is why people say the i7 is overkill or waste of money but it does performer better no one can argue that.
  13. Because in terms of its performance how many years would you get out of it before you needed to shell out another £500 for the bottom range pc, gaming is always evolving so if your a gamer you’ll always need to spend money on upgrades to move with the time.. I spent £800 on a self build which 5 years ago ran FM 2013 like a Ferrari, I doubt it would even load FM18 now, But the key point is value for money and What your budget is.. if your happy spending £500 on an average pc to play just a couple leagues on FM it would be fine. But if you want to be hardcore and play multiple leagues you would want something faster which costs more.. I have to admit, it’s only my personal opinion based on information Iv watched via YouTube about what’s value and what isn’t, it’s by no means what everyone should do because each persons criteria is different..
