I have just checked in the bugs forum and there are a few people with this issue. So as things stand, this challenge is impossible in Iceland unless we can get through a 2 legged European tie using grey players. I am so frustrated. I am 24 seasons in and finally we are dominating Iceland. It was time to start kicking on in Europe!!
Wow that really sucks! Especially after 24 seasons!!
Thats why i want to start as a Liechtenstein team but really need to know the details first before I really get in to it.
I have athread here:
If anyone can help me, it would be appreciated. Hope Iceland can get fixed somehow and you can continue.

That's brilliant, thank you.
I would also like to thank yourself, all researchers and all involved for the Chinese leagues and information. I think you have done a fantastic job once again this season!

Hi,
If anyone could provide help on laying as Liechtenstein teams i would really appreciate it! Currently I am playing a world journeyman save but think it would be really cool to play as a Liechtenstein team (they play in the Swiss league and have their own cup) as either a Youth Challenge (I know it would be nearly impossible) or as a building a nation.
I am thinking as a youth challenge to play as a newly promoted team and only use Liechtensteiner youth players or to build a nation and start as unemployed in the Swiss league, start as a Swiss club and eventually play as FC Vaduz (the best Liechtenstein team and only one in the Swiss league currently) , bounce around the different Liechtenstein teams and build them up and manage as the national coach etc
I do have a few questions and any tips or help given would be much appreciated!
+ Currently the rules on FM21 say that winning the Liechtenstein Cup puts you in BOTH the champions cup group stage and the Europa group stage. I this correct? i am thinking its just the Uefa cup group stage or qualifiers?
+ The lower Swiss league says that you have to have 11 Swiss players in the match squad. Does this apply to Liechtenstein teams or are Liechtenstein players eligible for this?
+ Can any Liechtenstein team be promoted to the lower Swiss league or is it impossible because the other Liechtenstein teams player at level 4 and below (not level 3 which is below the Swiss Second/Challenge league)?
+ The only way if the Liechtenstein Cup puts you in the Uefa cup to win the Champions League is to win the Uefa cup the year before?
+ Does anyone know of any threads or play throughs on the forum that were done in Lietenstein?
Thanks a lot for any help!

TEAM RIVALY MISSING
I would like to post that the Fierce rivalry between Guizhou Hengfeng and Beijing Renhe should be included. I believe this may have been an oversight as I am sure it was in past versions.
REASON: Beijing Renhe was previously called Guizhou Renhe (after Guizhou province in which it was based) and was the major football team in Guizhou. From 2012-2016 it became one of the most highly supported teams in the whole of the country even outside of the top super league, with the fans very passionate. Before this they were located in Shanghai but Guizhou didnt have their own team and they were sponsored by Guizhou Maotai (a local alcohol producer), with some of the owners from Guizhou. Also the local leaders in Guiyang (Guizhou capital city) allowed the team to play in the new Guiyang city olympic stadium. The rivalry comes when the owners suddenly and against supporters wishes decided to move the team to Beijing for financial and commercial reasons making the fans here in Guizhou very bitter and there has been a strong hatred for Beijing Renhe since.
Most of the fans now support Guzhou Hengfeng and have a very strong rivalry and hate fro Beijing Renhe. Guizhou Hengfeng are one of the best supported teams in the first division and outside the big teams. Therefore I believe the rivalry should be included and any researcher based in China would know this very well and I believe it has been missed by a mistake.

Pretty solid @MoonMonster.
Maybe I should try in Germany again. RW Essen maybe? Especially after the Iceland file is no good.
The league prize money is massive for the Bundesleague and even for the second division. The bottom division literally has nothing though. So really important to get promoted for financial reasons. If you check how much the prize money is, it may shock you!

(They are doing well in Europe again and are about to have the fixture backlog from hell... Our only chance is a well timed injury crisis to go with it )
When playing a rival for the same league placing or if I'm facing a team twice in a row I will tackle hard on their best players, use get stuck in and run at defence to try and injure their players or get them sent off LOL. Am I a bad person? 😂

Great thread guys and I have been lurking and reading it everyday! :)
What do you think about the Swiss league and trying a newly promoted Lichtenstein team? They have FC Vaduz already. Would it be possible? It would be a mix of youth challenge and a building the nation.

My sponsorship right now for Yiteng is €95K. I definitely can see it rising. Last season's promoted team from League One to Super League was Zhejiang Energy Greentown, my rivals. They currently have a €38M sponsorship income. It's weird that in the game we aren't fierce rivals because they are from the same city.
I've played in China before but not for a youth academy challenge. Tianjin TEDA was my go-to team.
Thats cool. Funny I am a Tottenham Fan too and really enjoy the Chinese league, also Uruguay I have played A LOT. Last year and this one Zhejiang have been promoted first season on every single season I have seen.
Good luck with the challenge, China could really be a sleeping giant!

The good point about managing in China is the sponsorship money. If you go to the league and the league menu at the bottom are all club ranked by sponsorship. Some big teams in the Super league will be £200 million plus PER SEASON. It will increase also. For you I bet as you progress your sponsorship income will go up also. I play in China every year now and its such a good league! I am bias as one of my favourite teams are Guizhou Hengfeng. Guizhou hates Renhe (beijing) as they were the big team in Guiyang (Guizhou) and they moved the whole football club to Beijing a few years ago!!

Tottenham are the team I support so have been keeping an eye on them. I thought they may dominate this year.....
first season they got 6th and Jose stayed. But Kane scored about 10 goals in 30 games. Son was top scorer. Second season they are just above relegation the same with very very few goals.

For me it's <playername> <Year of intake><rank by assistant's view of potential>.
So I look at the intake and I name them after it, so if I'm in 2030 and I'm looking at the 3rd highest potential according to the assistant, his name is John Smith 30c.
Thanks XaW
I reread the opening post and it does mention it there too lol.
Good luck with the challenge guys. Cant believe how far in seasons some of you are already!

Can I ask you guys what may be a very obvious question?
The numbers and letters after a players name e.g. 28a
Is that the year the player was produced by the academy and the letter is what ranking the prospect is from best to worst? e.g 28a is the best prospect from 2028?
Thanks

I have 13 friendlies to play before my first match
For anyone interested I'm still trialling. All leagues (minus 5 I know I wont want to play) and 125k+ players. Just became the boss of new caledonia and think I can get them to the world cup! Turned down Nantong (China), Chennai and Tiddum Road (India) and Central Espanol (Uruguay).

I'm still preseason of my Deportivo save (which I plan to be a long one so no rush). Not helped by the fact that I accidentally started in with English early preseason and games are not starting to mid october in my league!
Haha happens to all of us!

Hi guys!
As FM has been out a few days and having already seen someone already post a 204/25 season review I wanted to know what season you are up to and what teams you all are. Also what have you enjoyed (new feature or just good moments) so far :)

Tottenham Hotspur
Their MAIN kit sponsor is only £3.2 Million per year. I believe this should be £32 Million per year.
Their ADDITIONAL KIT sponsor is £30 Million per year. So it is possible that main and additional have been mixed up.

Thanks so much for this guys!
I normally just buy from steam but this year with the pandemic, a wedding and a baby on the way it really helps! I have from 2009 to 2021 now!

Hi guys,
congratulations on the new release and BETA.
I have had a little chance to look around and found something that may need reporting. As is my case, my nationality is English, but my place of birth should be Duyun, Guizhou, China. So far I dont think you can choose a nationality but different place of birth outside of that country. last year this was no problem. Apologies if I have made a mistake and it is in fact possible.

BTW any updates on the new stadium? I saw your balance down to £15,000 so hopefully a new stadium and a 50% sell on you have will help a lot I think.
