  1. I'm surprised at how many of you have your GK as your first sub. It just seems weird to me. GK absolutely must be the second sub for me (maybe because it was like this in CM93 or something, I dunno?) 1. CB 2. GK 3. CM 4. Winger 5. Striker 6. Miscellaneous 7. Miscellaneous
  2. You know, when there's someone who takes training a bit too seriously, can't take a joke etc. Just a personality clash. He thinks Mario is a bit up tight.
  3. I have to disagree with one of your points - Cameron Jerome is actually very fast. Rubbish, but definitely fast.
  4. Edit: note the first paragraph is talking about real life rather than in FM. I think it's something that could technically happen in real life, but any manager that did something so blatantly unprofessional would never be trusted in management again. The Man City board may well get rid of you as soon as possible. How can they be assured you're not going to screw them over? Wouldn't happen in real life - same for releasing players on a free then moving clubs.
  5. IRL any player 'moving out of the way of tackles' would get absolutely berated. Get stuck in!
  6. Just started my second season with Catania... first friendly I won 2-1. Stopped playing for about a week. Started playing again, and tweaked my tactic by the tiniest amount (moved 1 player mentality 2 notches) and won my next friendly 13-0, then 8-0, then 9-0. They were all against rubbish opposition but still...
  7. It's funny how much the game has changed over the years, yet it's still the same things that get me excited... Just finished my first season (I know!) as Catania. Had about £14.5m to spend this season after turning a pretty healthy profit. Spent nearly all of it on a new keeper and striker and can't wait to get going on the new season.
  8. Don't take this as complaining, but I think It's unrealistically easy to sell players in the game. IRL Crystal Palace have been actively trying to sell at least 3 players for almost a full calendar year (Kuqi, Ifill, Fletcher) with no joy whatsoever. I think somewhere between FM08 and FM09 would be more realistic. Having said that it is good being able to get rid of the deadwood easily.
  9. Maybe I'm weird but I really don't want anything too much better than this. I just want to be able to see what's going on and most importantly for the game to run smoothly and quickly. You still have to use your imagination a bit sometimes which I quite like.
  10. Yea, I didn't think about that. I've not had a problem with injuries, as you might have gathered. I do pretty much everything you do (except 11 subs in friendlies). I use 3 subs per game, and I nearly always take off the player with the worst condition for each sub.
  11. If you have a lot of injuries, it's bad luck, not a bug.
  12. Has your chairman been investing in tropical fish?
  13. Yea, that's how I've thought of it.
  14. ... so why do some youth players have yellow stars for their CA?
  15. Thanks for the advice. I will give it a go. It's a bit of a shame about the width thing, because naturally I want to play the ball into wide areas to get crosses into the box, but I also want my strikers to play close together. I'll have to find a compromise I suppose.
