(e.g. does the game say "aha! no defending training this week? now you can't defend!")?

Nope definitelly not, most of the training is long term.
The only case could be trainin (or not training set pieces / penalties) could have some influence.

Personally in such cases I try to keep it relaxed, no physical training, more of rest, maybe some team building ecc.

As for the condition indicator, in such situations it depends. If the player is in form, I would play him even if he would be a bit lower, and most likely sub him around 55th-ish minute.
My approach in general is "you need to feel the squad", as some players need more rest to perform, some can play 3 games in 7 days and still perform (and survive).

One thing I wouldn't do is to use 2 different XIs for different matches.

Any ideas to get his engines running?

Now that's a picle! This seems like a great player on first look, but then pretty much at every thinkable role as DC, DLR or DM he has some shortcoming.

Personally - despite not that good jumping and heading skills, I would consider him as a IFB on the left (if thats a role that could come handy to you).

Our salary spend compared to the rest of the division at the end of the window:

You are fighting against a totaly different world. The january window looks like you've set yourself up well for the battle, fingers crossed!

Thank you, but as you are about to see, I have hit the struggles! Not all sunshine and daisies here in Barcelona! Playing much more like expected.

Hold tight! I remember my first season I had a good start too, then I ran into a 17 games winless streak (totalling like 4pts during that).
But as long as you stay up, it's fine.

  5. Shame about the semi-pro stuff, I had the same thing happening to me, third tier is economically difficult. At my Sestao River save the board returned the club back to professional only once we got promoted into second tier.

The board is quite nagging, but hopefully this year you can make it! One year more of experience, the progress was there already.

BTW lowering the budget is exactly the best way to help you and the club reach success

7 seasons in and we have finally produced what looks a bit of a gem. Determination is not very good but for this standard he should be able to make a big impact. He scored 7 in 3 games for the San Marino u18s national team recently and I plan on giving him some gametime next season to see how he can handle it and hopefully he develops into our main striker over the next couple of years.

How about loaning / selling this kid to the Victor San Marino team? I say Serie A would be more helpful to his progress.

Just a quick one, do you think I should add anything else to this spreadsheet?

According to me they are just fine like this.

If you were to add something, informations I would like to see are
    - average attendaces of the teams; totale transfers spent / recieved; not only league they are in, but also the position they finished past season.

Keep on going, the start was just fine according to me and once the team gets used to higher level, you can make a playoff push in the second part of the season.
