  1. I've always thought that FM generally generates far too many wonderkid regens compared to real players. I finally got around to looking into the numbers on my current save. I am in my 5th season. I used FMRTE to search for players PA >=170 and noted the numbers per age. Not super scientific but good enough to have a cursory view. Generally speaking there were about 3+ players at 170+ PA between the Age of 30-39 for each year. So about 20 players in total above 170 in that age bracket. Between 21-29 there are about 10 players at each age that were 170+. Then it explodes Age 20 32 players 19 34 players 18 48 players 17 51 players 16 60 players <=15 22 players I wanted to know is this the norm for others and if so can SI look into and reduce this? Yes a lot of these won't reach their potential but it's way too high compared to real players in the DB.
  2. Just wondering if it's possible to add a new feature which shouldn't be too difficult to implement. I'm assuming it's easy as it should be just filtering by a date and having options show up to represent these dates. Can we have the option of viewing a league table since X landmark. The X would be an option to pick like: since you were appointed or any other managerial appointment since a specified signing since being taken over since a chosen date Essentially since any major in game landmark has happened. You could add this as a news item also every so often.

  4. I really think at this stage the way the managerial appointments are decided needs to be overhauled. It's been terrible for a number of years now. I've been annoyed by it for the last few versions of FM but now it's just getting silly. Just a few quick example: Roberto Mancini hired as Athletic Bilbao manager, ok that seems fine. He then gets sacked from there and then gets offered the Manchester United job. This would never happen. He's already failed in England with their biggest rivals and hasn't rebuilt his reputation since. A club with United's in game reputation should pretty much have their pick of Managers. In another game Harry Redknapp appointed, that doesn't need any critique it's just wrong. Unai Emery appointed as Man City manager. He was on the verge of the sack with Sevilla with a 40% win rate and finishing 7th. His reputation is high but current performance is quite poor. Villas-Boas appointed Arsenal manager. He had become the Inter manager and left after 7 months. Again unlikely he hadn't set the world alight at Inter. About a 50% win rate and finished in 6th. Hardly a rebuilt reputation that would have allowed Arsenal to see past his failures at previous London rivals. Sami Hyypia leaves Brighton after 6 months to take charge at Southampton. I could understand that if they were top and had Brighton flying but they were 12th. Very unrealistic leaving so soon into a contract. There seems to be a few issues at play causing all of this. First loyalty needs to be adjusted so that AI managers don't just look at club reputations and jump ship as soon as a higher rep club comes along. Hiring clubs should also take this into consideration at a higher degree. So that managers constantly leaving after short spells have that weighted against them far more. AI managers should also be able to calculate the whole package, current rep of club, transfer funds, league rep, league position, strength of playing staff(according to their judging rating). Maybe it is done like this but definitely needs to be tweaked. Next issue to solve would be having managerial reputations be a lot more dynamic. If they are not performing then their reputation should be dropping. A sacking should really be a massive drop in reputation and force the manager to need to drop down a bit and rebuild their reputation. Flavour of the month should play it's part so that a manager at small clubs who has them above expectations should be having large increases in reputation. Rival clubs seems to have no bearing on appointments. In reality fans would not be too happy to see an appointment of a rivals' previous manager. It can happen sure but not to the extent of in FM. What happens due to all these problems is that an AI manager seems to jump around the 4/5 big clubs in a league getting sacked and then re-appointed at a rival. It's just silly and really takes away from the game. I'm fully expecting Emery and Mancini to switch jobs in the next 12-18 months in my game or failing that Villas-Boas to take over at one.
  5. I tried using the FM05 DB but it wouldn't load. So started changing a few other things. I kept the player DB from 05 and used all the FM13 DB's with it to create an overall DB. The editor starts to load the data but hangs about halfway through. Trying to start a game gets to the league selection and then hangs after that. It's close but there's obviously some incompatibilities that would need to be fixed. Does anyone know of any tools that would read the data in a raw usable manner?
  6. How difficult would it be to extract the data from any of the Championship Manager games and use it to create a DB for FM to start with? Obviously there's new attributes like physical appearances etc. but most of the attributes are there. Everything else could be randomized. The likes of -1,-2 PA could easily be randomized to the newer Random PA's. Anybody ever had any success trying this approach? Is there any tools to extract the raw data from any of the inc files or changing them to dbc files. Also are there any rights issues with Eidos preventing SI Games from doing this themselves? Surely, they'd easily be able to do this and have some options in future FM's to play an actual classic mode using older DB's. This would change the start date of the game to match the DB and ignore Histories greater than this date. As far as I remember SI Games got the Code and DB's when they separated from Eidos. Come on SI, make this happen!

You can change the player involved, so that the original player no longer has a future transfer.

Unless your trying to edit league standings? You open up the league table in game and then hit current screen in FMRTE, time to relegate Chelsea haha:D

Which of the files are you trying to launch? Make sure you have extracted all of the files and also make sure you have the latest net framework installed.

Well you set the nickname in the game so yes it shows there. The game also changes all references to the nickname!

I presume he means to add a name which doesn't exist. I.e my surname is pretty rare and doesn't feature in the game, so I can't change a player to have my surname. It would be a great option if you could but in the meantime just add a player nickname in game.

Hmmm is a bit strange why it's not working then. Only time I've had an issue is with currency, didn't realise FMRTE was in Euro, so I couldn't understand the difference. I'd say the best option then is to setup a future transfer which is just a straight up cash deal. Then edit the future transfer and change the player and the amount. You can then always edit the contract once they've moved.

You sure you clicked save when you changed the transfer fee? Plus I don't believe you can alter the monthly payments with FMRTE. You can only change the upfront fee.

It will only pick them for promotion from one league below your last loaded league. So for example if you only loaded the prem you would only see championship clubs be promoted. At least this is the way it worked in previous FM. It's annoying as I have a good career going but would like to see FC United come up through the ranks, but that's only possible if I go back and load up all the english leagues.

He Ruci, Any chance of editing leagues for non-league clubs? This would allow the likes of FC United to be picked by FM for promotion.
