Again, thanks for al your thoughts! The DLP has an 'hold position' instruction, and since the winter update my wingers only performe on dribbling less. With dribbling more they jumped to the top of the poor dribbling chart in the data hub. Not just on this save but also on my previous save with Betis Sevilla as title contender. I know that it is counterintutive, but it does deliver. I can understand the space for between my lines, or the relative offensive roles of my midfield pairing. But does this cause the discrepency between the quiet, yet leaky defense? I will try to lower the tempo and change the BBM to a more conservative role. And to switch off the counterpress.

I have tried with moving up the defensive line or pull back the offensive line to shorten the gap between them, but surprisingly that only resulted in less dominant performances and more goals conceded. My goalies are young but of a 'good VNL level' according to my extremely poor rated assistent. Scoring is not directly the problem I think. And tactic according to the XG is also pretty solid. It just seems that every chance the opponent gets, results in a goal. Which is not good for the nerves! The low percentage of blocks and clearances for example strikes me. Are those 'normal' for a top side team or is that something to look at?

Background I recently started a save with Hampton in de VNLS and after tweaking my tactics I experience quite a succes winning in the league in the first season. After major turnover I started the second season in de Vanarama National League also quite wel, winning 4 and drawing 4 and only conceding twice it that run. After that, I don't know what happened but it seemed impossible to get a clean sheet. In the rest of the 38 matches it only happened 4 times more (2 of which in the last 2 games). Question Despite that I again rained as champion! But the frustration is there. Is there someone who can tell me how I can see what is going wrong and why I concede so above my XG? Datahub My XG against is third best, but goals conceded is tenth. My shot conversion against is almost 37%. Tactic The season preview predicted my team to finish between 5th and 8th during the season. Instructions to the CB is only pass it shorter. To the fullbacks sit narrower and tackle harder Help me! Again the question, where to look (in data hub or team detailed or anywhere else) what the reason is for the poor performance defensie wise. What can I try to better this. Hi all, Hopefully it is okay to post this as a reply and not a new post. This is my first time on this forum. I have had similar succes with the winter update. I struggled with this years FM in finding a successfull tactic, partly because my love for the simple 442. After moving from sc Heerenveen (my local team in The Netherlands) to Betis Sevilla in Spain, i finally had it all together. High on scoring, low on conceding. Everything clicked. Last season: Then, winter update came just as the new season would start, and I just keep conceding. Before the winter update I almost never conceded from balls over the top, now it feels like almost 2 a game. Players make stupid decisions. Defenders are defending mostly air. Because also the scoring has diminished, my results are very dissapointing. And I almost surpassed my goals conceded after just 12 games, in comparison to the entire previous season. New season: My 'old' tactic I am no expert in tactics, why is it not working anymore? I have experimented with tweaks here en there (especially removing instuctions, since there are so many), but I feel like al stability has been lossed since the update. Can someone advise? PS. is there a way to get to the data hub of a previous season as to better compare? Thanks for the help!
