It still occurs 100% of the time in the current version -
When managing both club and national teams, only club team players will have incorrect number of stars for their roles. Perhaps both are displayed based on the national team criteria. If you click on the role box in this situation, the correct number of stars will be displayed.

Since the update, it crashes frequently, about 2 or 3 times per hour during schedule progression. It had been happening somewhat in previous versions, but increased significantly after the update. The same phenomenon does not occur on FM2022 on the same PC. The scene seems to have a very low graphics load, yet there is a notation that it is a graphics board error. This is happening with all kinds of saved data, so I will send you the data right after the start. I am playing in window mode, but the same bug is happening when I start the game in full screen mode. I suspect that it depends on the PC environment, so I will describe how PC environment.
