  1. Wonder how many people there are like me just lurking as well, maybe I should start posting, who knows Anyway, I'm going to go for a 1-0 Germany win the final, they seem to like their defence so why not.
  2. I haven't done that, I didn't even realise you could do that with Genie Scout. Nice to know that the game rates me though
  3. Does it actually mean anything? As on my first use of FM Scout I was looking through my team when I found myself in the staff with a PA and CA of 200, and this rather generous profile: Manager Profile So, is this an actual interpretation of my skills, or is it just something there for show? Cheers.
  4. I don't know, sure, the challenge seems like great fun, but after such a long time in the game you might want to start thinking about the higher leagues, I know I would. I'd go for the Oxford job. Oh, and great thread by the way.
  5. <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Im just extremely frustrated, in previous games if u had a decent team with the best players you were on your way, but i fill my teams with stars and nothing..... </div></BLOCKQUOTE> Indeed, now you need good tactics and motivating skills! Seriously, this game has actually been easier for me than last years simply because I've put more effort into it, here, read this: Communication and Psychological warfare That'll help with the team talks, as for the tactics, make several variations of your favourite one for different situations, for example: One for attacking when you're behind One for general, simple play One if you're trying to keep it solid at the back One for holding on at the end of the game and one for going all out attack at the end I personally have more than that, but you get the idea, you really need to adapt in situations.

  7. Yah, seen it before, one of the more common hidden things, there are dozens, maybe more!
  8. As the title states, I hear a lot about people having their chairmen sell players over their head ridiculously, but never the other side of the story, which is what I have. I am BK Forward, a pretty unkown Swedish club. In five seasons I've brought them from the third league of Sweden to the first, not that much of an achievement considering half the team are still with me, Forward had some pretty awesome youngsters, and they've really matured, it's been beautiful to watch. But of course, brilliant youngsters have a habit of being snapped up by bigger clubs, often for HUGE prices. I'm of course worried about this (who wouldn't be?) and when the offers started coming in for some of the better young 'uns I was worried that my board would accept that rather large offers. BK Forward had very little money when I took over, through luck and general improvement over time that has increased to nearly one million. An offer of 500k would increase that by half, a sizeable amount, and this is exactly the offer that I have recieved for two of my youngsters, a brilliant goal keeper and an explosive striker. To my delight, the board have left it up to me, which made me think back throughout the years. They've always offered me a contract asap, always given me reasonable transfer amounts even when our finances were in a bad shape and never sold a player over my head, they're perfect, giving me complete control over the team. I sold one of the youngsters, and with the money bought someone even better, and now; the offers are increasing, and I'm not worried one bit. So yeah, pretty much it, random and without any real point, but just thought I'd spread the love. Congratulations if you read so far, and feel free to share any stories about your board (either bad or good)

  12. XLDW?

I think is D away draw, while X is home draw? Or the other way round? I could be completely wrong here, just an initial guess.
  13. So, here's the situation. I've been managing at a little known Swedish club called BK Forward for 5 years now. Got them promoted in my second season and now in the elite league (which is basically like the english championship), I have finished third every year but cannot win the playoffs for the life of me, the gulf between premier league quality and elite league is just too high. So, that either means that I need to either, 1) get better players for my club, or that 2) I've taken Forward as far forward as they'll go (pun intended) and should move on, now, here's the problems regarding choosing either of those: 1) I can't get Forwards reputation up, as I've said, the premier league's quality of players absolutely dwarfs mine, so promoting up there seems like it won't happen. Being constantly in the playoffs I would hope that it might steadily rise, but I haven't seen more players wanting to join, and any good signings I do make are usually amazing youngsters that I poach off smaller clubs (they usually go in a year for a few 100K to a bigger club) Is there a way that I can raise my clubs rep without necessarily promoting? There's only one cup, that I usually go out of in the latter stages. 2) If I want to leave I have no idea what sort of jobs I should go for, I am a 'Talented Manager' and my rep is 'National', yet when I saved one time and went for all the english jobs (I wanted to see what level I was at at the moment) not even league two strugglers would take me on. So is there a way I can raise my manager rep, or at least know what sort of level I am at? Cheers.

Alright, is this bug (with overachieving classed as underachieving) count with your manager profile? Because despite doing very well with Forward, no other team in the world will take me, and now my guy is simply sitting around, unemployed watching lower management jobs being given out to worse people. And if you're wondering, the board fired me after I applied for a job, apparently they were already disappointed with my performance so they said I should move along if I'm looking for another team.

Shame, because I really like it.
  23. Anyone else imaging Kip as a cult-leader and us all knelt down around him? 'Please Kip, please, just tell us about the Bandits' 'Please oh mighty one' 'What news be coming from the Bandits m'lord?' (this guy's from the medieval age) 'Just tell us about the bandits...' I think you get the picture, there wasn't quite a need to go into as much detail as that. But yeah. Please Kip, we need news! It better be good news too, we can't have waited this long just for a 'Oh, mid table nothingness again this year!'
