  1. I think all I did in this screen was, prior to registering my new signing, I changed the columns view to include assistant manager's opinion of their CA and PA. Then once I registered somebody the page looked like this.

Luckily, there's a way to mostly fix this issue straight away, by clicking the 'Copy of selection info' dropdown and selecting the default tactics page view. However dragging reserves into the team can still be problematic.

  2. Is there any explanation for this? Not only is it weird that it's happening at all, but now I've noticed it seems to apply to a good 80% of my injuries. Not buying that it's luck. 'Match tactics' has an injury count that obviously physical sessions such as endurance/match practice don't come close to. I thought training and the intensity of the individual sessions was supposed to matter? Very frustrating and not even from a "too many injuries" perspective either. I'm not bothered about the quantity, it's that they're happening on days with no physical sessions and the severity of most of them. I wouldn't even mind if last minute "injured during the warm up" type injuries were introduced, as long as they make sense, which these injuries crucially do not.

If 'match tactics'/'match preview' do have considerable injury risk, that needs to be specified in the training centre. If not, there is a bug with 'day before game' injuries.

  3. Bumping this because I'm now in March and will soon find out whether I get an intake this year or not.

I found out that you definitely shouldn't usually be able to see a complete youth intake preview whilst in October.

I'm also fairly sure this isn't how Liverpool's U18 squad should look like:

The one other thing I can think of, other than the creation of the U23s team, that could've bugged the game is that I added more leagues as playable to try and attract more offers, which would've came into effect in year 2. Obviously English top 5 tiers were loaded from the beginning but I added the Vanorama North/South and some others. I remember in a FM21 save I had, I was attempting a journeyman thing from a low level and only added the top euro nations after a few years. It seemed to specifically glitch out Mansfield Town who apparently were terribly equipped with awful players and suffered 3 successive relegations with a points total of between 0-5. It also made Thomas Tuchel stop existing for some reason and Chelsea were managed by a generated manager in his 20s with no prior experience. These were quite amusing bugs that I didn't report but it just occurred to me that adding more playable leagues does seem to have some weird effects, although that certainly never disrupted my youth intakes in the previous game.

As for the U23s, I've only ever previously set up B-teams, which don't usually function because the teams are placed into non-playable leagues and there are no visible fixtures, although again of course I've never seen one disrupt a youth intake. Thought the English U23s would work differently as the leagues are in the game but still no visible fixtures. @Andrew James Has there been any recent testing with setting up U23 teams for an English side that didn't previously have one in-game (such as Notts County and probably other non league teams) and whether that could've caused the problem?

Really hope this is just a one year glitch and things start to normalize in mine and everybody's youth systems, or god knows what my save will start to look like! I will found out today or tomorrow, I expect. 400 hours on the line.

  4. Basically everyone has this on their profiles at all times no matter what and everything is just a ticking timebomb of bad morale and uncommitted performances if you don't want to use the edit button (I'd really rather avoid it but it just feels too buggy and undeveloped not to, if a league season takes me a couple of weeks of playtime I don't want to be set off course and miss my targets because something that shouldn't really be happening). There is no way to balance it out or plan against it unless you want to build a team entirely full of "breakthrough prospects", which wouldn't even make sense.

My fourth example of this today. His playing time? You guessed it, regular starter. Not really playing time worthy of "fury" is it? I've had this player since the start of my save and we've built up a great working relationship over that time and he addresses me like this? And then when you consider the matches he's not selected for are all because he was exhausted from the last one (or it's a minor cup game and I'm saving him for a league tie; game importance doesn't seem to be a factor). Needlessly hostile pest interactions with no nuance and no good options just feel lazily coded and make me want to stop playing my save. Hopefully you've seen enough now to be able to make it stop!!

In my opinion, these sorts of complaints should be limited to: A) important players or star players in agreed playing time, and B) people with abnormal player personalities. Anything else vaguer than that really sucks because that could just apply to 80% of your squad and it's just unplayable.  And players who say they have great respect for you should act as such and not like spoilt new signings.

  6. I notice this a lot, I'm in league one where of course there are 46 games + cups, and I want them to play intense styles, so rotation is necessary. I make sure not to try not to overpromise playing time to permanent players, if I did that would be on me. Also creating a squad that can compete with everyone on "squad player" or less is more or less impossible, so you get punished for operating a rotation system and not having undroppable players, when I feel realistically, they would be understanding of the benefits of being kept fitter and being protected more considering our demanding style of football.

The main problem usually arises with "regular starters", who, as the label suggests, I am regularly starting. When they are fitter than the alternative, they start...which is regularly. Regular starters seem to unreasonably expect to be important players, I am 99% sure that is where the issue is arising. They also all seem to come at similar points in the season, so I'll get bombarded with 3 or 4 of these in the same fortnight.

Oh, and the player interactions for this give no option to say anything about keeping the player fresh and needing to rotate, it's all just stuff that makes them angry. That's a big problem, and something I've just been using the edit button for since I won't have my save/immersion killed by some completely wooden conversation coding.

  7. I had been wondering if there was a link to the U23 team creation, so that's an interesting report. I don't think I can provide a save from before the request was made unfortunately.

I can't think of anything other than the new U23s team that could be relevant; although I have noticed under the youth candidates part of the dev. centre (looking in October 2023) my one A-level prospect is a goalkeeper, which was the same as the preview I got in December 2022. This could be a coincidence, or perhaps I will receive 2 intakes in 1 go in March. Will definitely report back when I get to March anyway.

I've also never really noticed the youth candidates tab before, so I'm not sure is it usually possible to see a preview of your intake while in October in England?

  8. if anyone's looking at my save could they also look at the U23s team? We started in the National League and once we were promoted to League Two I requested the U23s team from my board. There was no U23s league though, so just had to book friendlies. I figured as I requested it during a season, it would be the following year that we would be invited to take part in a U23s league, but there still isn't one and I'm going to have to keep booking friendlies.

I've put a lot of hours into this save but all these bugs with the development system are threatening to be a save killer. Please address if there's anything I can do to 1) ensure I always get a youth intake and 2) join an U23s league, or if these are known bugs

  9. I've uploaded save file "Tufty Gibbon - Notts Co.fm" to the SI cloud as it's my only current FM22 save, however other saves have been more adversely effected by this so I think a wider investigation than just of my save file is required for this issue.

For the record, the unloanable player at Notts County is 19 y/o striker Tyreace Palmer (went on loan to Melton Town IRL shortly before the game launched I believe). Now, shortly after posting I did realize I'd made a rookie mistake for THIS save by not including the National League North & South, therefore playing in the lowest playable league in England and reducing any offers from NLN/NLS clubs. However, with the other aforementioned saves, the lack of offers from the very much playable Championship/League One/Bundesliga 2 were highly frustrating

  10. I am just going to keep posting ridiculous examples of this until somebody at least attempts to justify it being the way it is. More people should be irritated by this, I think it's extremely poor to have all of your individual training ideas trampled on by the next staff meeting.

Where's the freedom? Where's the ability to shape our players? Are they all just set to have certain stats/growth and what I choose to try and focus on is now completely obsolete? How bad at something does somebody have to be for it to actually still be considered a "weakness"? I want this stuff explained to me.
