  1. I play FM only in 2D but with large databases (100k or so players/multiple leagues) but don’t plan to use my laptop for much else. With a budget of £300-350, would this be an acceptable purchase? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B5H8DCBS/?coliid=IS9V654Q4MS4D&colid=1X56MPSCUPALH&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1
  2. I tend to prefer less loaded leagues but more players added for longer-term saves- eg: adding ‘current international players for each continent and ’players from top division clubs’ from Europe and South America in custom settings on set-up. That way more regens etc are produced from leagues around the world which aren’t playable but the processing of fixtures/competitions isn’t so heavy (except on deadline day I find which can take a little longer ). It’s a matter of personal preference though as it looks like your PC can handle a high number of leagues loaded.
  3. This is a very minor issue but worth mentioning as it was slightly immersion breaking to go seven months without playing a game before an international tournament. Playing as England- there were no dates available to play a friendly in March 2024 ahead of the Euros that summer. After playing my final qualifiers in November 2023, my next game was a warm-up for the tournament itself in June 2024. I assume in real life the nations which aren’t in the playoffs for the Euros (this international window happened as planned for those nations), would play one or two friendlies in that usual March window. After regularly checking, the option to arrange a friendly then was greyed out and stayed unavailable. Thanks
  4. It feels obvious to say this is a game to be cautious, not to leave any spaces for France to exploit in transition and not to let the backline (Shaw/Maguire especially) get isolated 1v1. Even if Walker (presumably with the assistance of Henderson and Saka) keeps Mbappe quiet then Giroud, Dembele or Griezmann can just as easily find a way. Griezmann in my eyes is just as important to France as Mbappe is, so I hope England stick with the 4-3-3 to keep the midfield numbers to try to nullify him in his deeper role. England will be as reliant on Rice and Henderson putting in big performances just as much as Kyle Walker. I see two possible weak spots in what I presume will be France’s starting XI. Kounde, as mentioned by others on this thread, at right-back is one. If England on the counter use Bellingham’s ball progression and Kane’s passing range to find Foden on the left, there could be some joy there. We’ve also seen a few Lloris calamities down the years. His dropping the ball almost onto the head of Lewandowski reminded me of a few times he’s made a mess of balls into the box: against Man City earlier this year, Liverpool 2019, Chelsea 2018 etc. That could be a set piece exploit for England (though there is probably more to beating the world champions than simply sticking the big lads on the goalkeeper at set pieces ).
