  1. If you have FM20 (perhaps/probably the issue is also present for FM21), this can be demonstrated by selecting to add to existing competitions in Argentina or Belgium, and then add any random transfer rule (I tried changing the minimum length for contracts in Belgium), then save your rules and verify. It says “[league] has not finished by season update day (not all stages have been created)”.

I noticed this is the case for many competitions with complicated playoffs (particularly league splits), and even more strangely I can often verify the rules if I don’t add any changes after converting to advanced rules. I’ve known about this ‘bug’ for a while but only now when I’m getting this same error in my custom league with a league split, it’s particularly deflating to know I could perfectly recreate the league format for Belgium’s tiers and still not be able to verify them all in advanced.

Is anyone familiar with a workaround for these scheduling issues? Or should I just move on with the fact that my custom league’s current format is impossible to execute :/

  2. Complex question beyond the scope of the pre-game editor, probably about game mods rather than editor data, not sure if this is the correct place for it.

As part of of a multi-national league system I’m making, I’ve found that all the existing options in the pre game editor for homegrown rules in squad registration are unsuitable because the league system can only have one host nation. Using homegrown rules will screw over all the foreign teams at the start. I’m trying to find a way to somehow preserve the home nationality of each club, particularly at lower league levels, so that their squad will still resemble its real life form after a few years in game.

I’m wondering if it’s possible to change the definition of homegrown players in the game, or add a new option? Ideally I would like clubs to register a certain amount of players from their based nation, not the nation of the league they play in. I have lots of experience with the pre-game editor but I don’t know how to open or edit the fmf files that come with the game, or if the definition of homegrown players is even visible in any of those game files.

I can settle for playing without any homegrown rules, but if anyone has any knowledge about this or can help in any way, that would be greatly appreciated!
