  1. @knap of course ! I spent a lil while typing them out to try and help others as this thread has been a huge help for myself. @andrealves_10 As far as Im aware most top tactics all use this same 1 near post & 1 far post corner set up. You could also maybe try 'set piece delivery' training in the week leading up to the match (but that may be placebo). Also I find for the far post corner an in-swinging corner taker is more perferable to an out-swinger but that would have to be tested to confirm. Also when choosing the corner target Id always pick a Dan Burn over an Isak or Botman - although Isak and Botman are better all round targets, height is the most important factor I find. Lastly, if you do score from a corner and the defender get a good match rating I always praise them after the match for doing so - this will lead to the chances of it happening again becoming greater.
  2. @Kotsarikos1987 I never go higher than balanced. I change from balanced to cautious if Im 1 goal up away and if Im not totally dominating. I almost always change to cautious if away and 2 goals up. I use cautious at home against bigger teams if under pressure / only having around 35 to 40% posession. I start games on cautious if I expect to be under pressure from the first whistle and use defensive for the last 30 to 10 mins or a match to see out a result or if under a lot of pressure (also changing GK distribution to slow it down, changing counter to hold shape and adding time wasting)
  3. @andrealves_10 The original is Knaps WHEELS OF FIRE 41212 WD P100 EC FA. My minor tweak with hard tackling removed and some free kick / throw in alterations is posted a couple of pages ago
  4. Shouts guide: Score: 0-0; after 15 mins the first shout is always 'encourage'. If still 0-0 at 25 mins shout 'demand more' (in 90% of matches). If you are a small team against a top team, use 'no pressure'. If still 0-0, at 37 mins shout 'encourage' again. Repeat this cycle in the 2nd half if still 0-0. Break from this cycle if at any point if you score. Praise the individals who scored the goal, and player that gave the assist. If the match continues 1-0 to 90 mins, no further shouts will be needed. Ive not found any shout consistently effective when 1 nil up. If you score a second goal, again praise the individals who scored the goal and the player that gave the assist. If you score a 3rd goal, then 'priase' the entire team. (4th goal = priase goalscorer and assister, 5th goal 'praise' entire team and so on.) If the opponents equalise, revert to the cycle of 'encourage' and 'demand more' as above, but be cautious not to use the same team shout twice in a row. If 2 nil up or 3 nil and the opposition bring it back to 2-1 or 3-1, dont use any shout. If ever a goal down, instead of cycling 'encourge' and 'demand more', cycle 'demand more' and 'show some passion', except however as soon as you concede the first shout should be 'encourage' (unless you had previously used the 'encourage' shout last when you were drawing). If 2 goals down, the first shout (on immediately condeding the 2nd goal) should be 'berate'. If you continue to be 2 goals down, cycle 'berate', 'show some passion' and 'demand more'. When you equalise, immediatley after the equalising goal goes use either 'encourge' or 'demand more' (based on your previous shouts in the match (you never want to use 'encourge' or 'demand more' twice in a row as you wont get as a good a rection), then go back to cycling these 2 shouts. Only stop this cycle if you go in front, at which time you will revert to praising the goalscorer and assister (except if you go in front to make the score 3-2, you should use that opportunity to 'praise' the entire team). Exceptions: 2nd leg of 2 legged ties. The 2nd leg of a tie only follows these rules above if you are drawing or behind. If winning from the 1st leg, do not use any shouts as they will have poor results, that is, unless you score, then follow the above shouts for going 1-0, 2-0 and 3-0 up, or if your opponent equalised the tie on aggregate (or takes the lead on aggregate) then go back to following the above suggestions. Hope that is clear !
  5. Decided to start a new game using the 98% 433 - its more defensively sound than Id imagined but I couldnt get my strikers to score. Played up to the WC and was in 2nd place but Isak (6), Wilson (2), Oshimhen (3) and Giroud (6) were not cutting it. Sacked off that save and went back to the trusty 41212 - my first ever unbeaten season on FM23 ! Oshimhen, Rice, Giroud (to mentor / be a team leader) and Skriniar transferred in. In Jan, Man city bid £70m for Joelinton (12 goals in 14 games) and then accepted £35m up front and £110 total bid for Foden. Won the CC also.
  6. Hi, just like to add my 2 cents ! I only play as NUFC, and have tried 5 or 6 of the top formations over the past few months here to deliver instant success, winning the EPL in season 1, and the best by far is the WoF 41212 (only tweeks attached are for set peices, mainly free kicks addings a couple goals a season) in terms of points and GD: Signings were only Antonio Silva, Oshimhen (you can only sign him by offering £40M up front, £50 in installments, 50% of next sale and arranging a friendly as soon as you start a new game (the board will block the transfer if you try and offer more)), then in January as I was clear at the top, the board gave me more funds so I bought Bellingham and Rico Lewis (loan) as cover. Dan Burn (IWB L) with 22 goals from corners, Isak, Oshimen and Wilson all fired me to the Leage and cup double. The leage table perhaps doesnt show my dominence as 2 defeats and a draw came in the last 4 games as I rested players for the cup final and the leauge was already won. After continuing with this save, I tried the original Pep tactic a couple of seasons later after having the perfect 11 for it, loved the play and the goals for the AF Mbappe: If he didnt get injured with France (or if he was Haaland and could be the target man for corners), im thinking 125 goals a season is possible. This season I won all cups, but the similar to other posts here, conceding goals down both flanks was a problem - the following season it cost me 2 cup finals. I therefore have been using a defensive version of the Pep tactic for the last 15 mins or so to see games out, nullifying the threat of fast opponent IW / IFs and killing the game : Right now Im about to start season 7 and am looking for an elite team tactic - the top CA160 Hub 424 has given me success but am looking to try something new and a bit more exciting than a 424 if theres any recommentations ? Im wondering if the below may work its just the original Pep with set peice tweeks and the wingers moved back to give a bit more defensive protection ? As always, thanks for your work Knap ! 7. I re-trained musiala and (a maxed out PA) elliot Anderson to AMR and tried Alponso Davies, Endrick and a re-trained Harvey Elliot to AML and their numbers and consistency as out and out wingers was poor - that was pre patch however. Looking at the numbers from Vini Jr above, maybe post patch there is more joy using IF as traditional wingers even though they have the wrong foot / traits for the role. Currently tho using 2 IFs cutting in doesn't clog up the middle of the pitch like you might think. They make good combinations and it is late 3rd man runs from deep in that area that opposition defences don't track which leads to loads of big chances on this ME. Will need to play more but currently IFs working better than W for me. Agree that all round box to box powerhouses like camavinga and bellingham are amazing at AMC.
  8. @2paff was just about to post 'my' tactic (based off Knaps MadasaHatter base with some roles tweaked / influenced by Crags 4141) which is the same shape. Just got around to trying the patch today and played 11, scored 41: I know its a very small sample size (and Im an elite club) but pre-patch this tactic scored a ton, but the games were like basketball. Post-patch I'm defensively solid and controlling possession, too. This is the 1 game I dropped points: I think Haaland would score a ton as the AF if you want to play around with it, especially if you put him on NP corners - if anyone wants to have a look and improve it any feedback / tweaks would be much appreciated, cheers. (I use 'cautious' away at title rivals (Ars and Chelsea are my competition in this save ATM and have just beat them comfortably with this tactic), 'very attacking' if I need a goal and controlled explosion as the base from which to see out last 10 - 15 mins) Nuclear Bomb.fmf Controlled Explosion.fmf
  9. Hi Knap, cheers for all the hard work ! Any chance you could have a test of this or even tweek the TIs / PIs to improve it ? Ive used your MadasaHatter template but incorporating CragsWFCs front 5 that score a ton of goals and changing the full backs to IWBs to offer more defensive protection. Finished the 5th season with it winning all cups and starting season 6 with very decent stats. The below screenshots are 11 league games into the season - my CF is killing it: KnapCragswfc4141.fmf
  10. @cragswfcIve been using this with NUFC season 5 and it is amazing, thanks ! - what kind of players work best in AML and AMR - traditional wingers / inverted wingers or more playmaker types? Bellingham and Musiala are amazing in the AMC roles, but in not getting the same numbers you are out of Elliot Anderson / Harvey Elliot and Endrick in the winger positions, cheers.
  11. Looking good so far, cheers Knap. Not played Liv or City away, but beat City at home 4-0 and Man U 5-0; Bellingham, Antonio Silva and Schjelderup in (in installments), Dummet 2.5m and Fraser 9+9m out
  12. Just had the same issue, but on mine Joelinton wasnt a sub (but Jonjo was) - in fact, theres now 4 different strips on the pitch as some of the black tops have red numbers and some have the numbers in white
  13. Developing wonderkids into world class players is the best part of the game for me. Game breaking if this is knackered. Seems like young players aren't developing well enough even after the hotfix (see FM Scout on YT) if they aren't good enough to get in to a good teams first XI from the get go. Is there any further insight on how mentoring groups are working / not working this year? Please don't say it's the same as FM22 - I don't want a return to previous versions where you could make 20+ model citizens by having angelo palombo mentor a couple of youngsters every season but I'd hope its better than the randomness and hit and miss of last year. Are young players able to improve for a human manager in the U23s or in reserve football? Are there any newgen wonderkids coming though who are good enough for top EPL sides from 16 or 17 (these players were non existent across FM 22). Thanks.
  14. Has anyone looked into mentoring groups in this beta? I'd be really grateful for any feedback as I'm unsure if I'm going to carry on with this game or get a refund. This was one area of FM22 I thought was really slow at times and it was often really hard to influence your young prospects - you could have say a young English regen CM or a Harvey Elliot in the same mentoring group as team leaders with the best personalities in the game (Henderson and Milner (model citizens)) and they could go seasons without improving their personalities. To me it's inconceivable that you could have a young promising striker with a miniscule reputation with a decent personality such as resolute / fairly pro who is mentored by Messi and Harry kane, brought off the bench and plays in cup games, has morale through the roof and has no language issues but you'd hear nothing for months the until you get the dreaded 'negative characteristics of the mentoring group' have influenced your prospect message. Even worse is the dreaded red arrow going down for determination. As an side after a quick search it looks as if there are much fewer model professionals and model citizens in the game anyways - is there a reason for this? It makes it harder to find players to influence your wonderkids - one of my pet peeves between FMs is having to sign the same team leaders every save (lewa, kane, kimmich, milner, or thorsby, cuesta, quagliarella if you are skint) as the importance of having a determination 18+ model Pro/ model citizen as the team leaders is huge. The same with signing the same staff with great mentals otherwise you always seem to negatively influence regen personalities.
  15. PSG 4123 tactic - never seen a better goalscroing season (on pens and NP corners). Cheers Knap :-)
  16. @tractor76 its KASHMIR 4123 P105 EC FA PSG P110 Goals 191 Ive changed the set peices - defending corners - with my routine you can go seasons without conceding from a corner, and throw ins to mimic another of Knaps set ups which works well and to have the CF attacking near post for more goals for Haaland. For those who quesitoned how you get great players at NUFC, I showed my transfers a few pages ago to show it can be done without cheating. In all honesty, with the transfer and wage budget they have, if you cant build a world class team in a few seasons you are doing something wrong. KASHMIR 4123.fmf
  17. Cheers Knap ! - maybe my best ever season (season 3, all 6 trophies won). Lost only away to wolves and drew 1st game of the season away to Bournemouth, despite hammering them both.
