I have the same issue in Iceland but in the 2025 season. I played the last group stage game in the Europa League on December 12th and as winner of the group don't need to play in the first knock-out round. On December 13th, my players leave for holidays and will return on March 24th, 2025 after the season started with the league cup and also after the second knock-out round... :-(
It was such a great save to build up IBV, be promoted to the first league and reach the Europa League...
