As you can see the tactic isnt very deffensive, BUT, the recruitment I have done has been key for playing the way i want to: not conceeding many goals. I have (copied a lot from @crusadertsar) focused on theese attributes when buying players:
- anticipation
- concentration
- positioning
- teamwork
- Work rateare these the attributes you look for in your defense and midfield or for all players including wingers and striker?

Yes true, that's what I think/fear too.
But I hope that at least a small improvement can also occur in FM24, because for too many years certain modules or roles have been left behind in an approximate way.
It seems there are only 433, 4231, 4312, inverted fullbacks, Guardiola and gegenpressing. What a drag these trends are!
The 352 also needs to be rethought regarding the WCB, its fluidity, the passages that change the flanks, etc...but...
For now, I believe that this single change (wingbacks) is quite quick to implement and despite being one thing, it would already be very important! I hope so, at least that they give us some news.Do you post tactics in your YouTube page? I'm looking to see some of your tactics. I currently play fm21.

As you can see our big outlier is the tackle attempts per game. A big difference from league average. But then I am telling my team to "stay on their feet". I prefer to play highly disciplined brand of football and keep number of yellow and red cards to a minimum. At the same time our tackles won ratio is greater than league average (by almost 5%).
Some interesting facts - all Real Sociedad players only got 23 yellow cards in total this season. And not a single red card!
I meant attributes wide in squad comparison screen

What's your teams in defensive stats compared to rest of the league?

First Touch, Passing and Technique are not important to defensive football
Any other technical attributes important for defense first?

@crusadertsar when's the next part coming

For some reason this made me want to post here. Off the field pragmatism would be what Jose talks about here - making small incremental additions to a team over the years to set them up for success
Like gegenpress tactics - it's not as flashy as signing a big name via transfers. Instead focusing on making small additions over the years to eventually becoming a top side. I think there needs to be written more on what being "defensive first" approach to managing a club in Football manager
Not sure if anyone agrees but just my thoughts.

can you write the next part right now? i cant wait

hire all my staff to suit the play style.
Why is it important that the staff have the same play style? What happned if they dont?
I saw this series - I'm still on fm21 so I didn't bother following it due to changes in tactics SI made from 21 to 23

Key mentals would be aggression, bravery, concentration, determination, positioning, and work rate. Your more offensive players can lack aggression and positioning in exchange for anticipation, off the ball, and vision. For physicals, stamina is important. Physicals will depend on type of player. Ie you want pace on an inverted winger, strength and jumping reach for your center backs, etc.
I'm using this on fm21 and it works great. The only issue is the possession numbers I have are over 50% which isn't very simione like.
Also I score A lot of gols - not that it's a problem but often times I find my team is top in gols scored but like top 5 in goals against. I would prefer the other way around.
End of the day FM views my style as fluid counter attack which is good.

Another thing I would mention. Look how many support duties I employed. The whole system is based upon teamwork and support, hence why the team fluidity is fluid. Everyone is working for each other. That’s where the work rate and stamina comes into play. It’s vital for your wingbacks, midfielders, and forwards. Creative players will be limited by this system. Look at Felix in real life today. He’s asking to leave and Simeone isn’t even starting him. I had really good players I had to sell to replace with three star players because they fit the system better. And we won the UCL with mediocre forwards at best. Your midfielders, defenders, and goalkeeper need to be top class.
So when i recruit players my focus should be on teamwork, work rate and stamina as my squad dna?

Well, Redbull basicly has partnered clubs in every region of the world to pick up local talents.
What you can do is to look for affiliate clubs around the world with good youth training / recruitment and pick up their players, or you could set up scouting assignments around the world for young, high potential players in low / equal rep leagues (compared to your league).
Why low / equal rep leagues

I'm trying to relocate Red Bull recruitment in my save with hungarian side Ujpest FC.
Does anyone know what scouting assignments you would set for your scouts and which nations? I know one of them have to scout for first team aged maximum 23 years.

@ta11zx This spreadsheet uses statistics from the game and creates the following statistics (all per 90 minutes):
- Goals
- Non-penalty Goals
- Non-penalty xG
- Non-penalty goals - Non-penalty xG - this is a measure of how well the player outperforms his xG and is an indicator of quality finishing
- Shots
- Shots on Target
- Shot on Target Ratio
- Non-penalty Goals per Shot - this is a measure of how often a player scores per shot. A higher value can be a subtle indicator of good finishing
- Non-penalty xG per Shot - this measures the quality of shot the player takes on average. This can be an indicator of quality movement
- Dribbles
- Fouls Won
- Assists
- Goal Contributions (Goals + Assists)
- Pass Attempts
- Passes Completed
- Pass Completion Ratio
- Key Passes - a key pass is the final pass by a teammate which leads to a goal attempt that does not lead to a goal
- Clear Cut Chances Created
- Cross Attempts
- Cross Completion Ratio
- Defensive Actions - this includes Tackles, Interceptions, Headers Won and Clearances
- Tackles Won
- Interceptions
- Clearances
- Headers Attempted/Aerial Duels Contested
- Headers Won/ Aerial Duels Won
- Headers Won Ratio
- Fouls Committed
- Yellow/Red Cards
- Offsides
- Minutes per Game
- Distance Travelled
To get a better reflection on how the player compares to players of the same level and same position, I have included percentile ranks. Percentiles range from the 0th to the 100th percentile and they provide a reflection of how a specific value of data compares to a larger pool of data. E.g a player who is in the 97th percentile for Goals/90 is in the top 3% of players in the data set. Effectively, the higher the percentile rank, the better the player is performing.
Do these files work for Fm21?

so did anyone figure out a way to do this without adding a new manager for every club you own?

Training heavily focused on defending, pressing, and set pieces. Every week, I was training Transition Restrict, Transition Press, Defending Wide, Attacking Direct/Patient, and Set Piece Delivery. You need to set your set piece takers and make sure they are training Free Kick Delivery/Corners as set pieces are vital with this tactic. Preseason was brutal on the players - often using double Endurance sessions. I always had at least one Physical session during the weeks. The aim was to have high work rate, stamina, and natural fitness throughout the squad. Finally, I always trained Teamwork before matches as we play disciplined.
can you send an attachement of the training schedule? i want to import and use on my save.

The 325 Build Up:
- Virgil, Matip and Trent; Form a back 3 with Matip slightly deeper.
- Fabinho and Thiago; Double pivot provides passing options in the lanes between City's front 3 should they choose to engage our back 3.
- Robertson; As soon as possession is secured he takes off down the left to form a line of 5 in attack.
- Overload left; Not necessarily by design but a perk of the fluidity of the system. We move the ball right to Trent but a combination of Robertson's run, the positioning of Diaz and Nunez moving into channels give us an overload on the far side.
- Trent's passing range; trademark cross field pass from a deeper position by Trent turns City's defence and puts us properly on the offensive.
- Jota and Nunez; After Thiago backs up the play I love how Jota and Nunez get close together in and around the box and link up nicely.
- The finish; Speaks for itself!Beating City's High Press:
Having 4 attacking players give us a lot of options. If teams choose to sit off, we can form the 325 and let Thiago and Fabinho control the midfield. If teams choose to press high, having 4 genuine attackers on the pitch means they're taking a huge risk.
Here, we bypass City's press with incredible ease.
Yes, that is Konate and RB and Henderson and Milner on the wings, we picked up a few knocks and didn't have many options from the bench!
City seem to have set up fairly well here in terms of stopping us from building up through our preferred method (Thiago and Fabinho). However, in order to do that they've had to go 4 vs 4 at the back. As a result, Matip is able to find Henderson with a direct pass.
The skipper is able to get on the half turn and now we take advantage of City going man for man at the back. There's acres of space for Henderson to knock a pass into and a more than willing runner in Darwin.
He gets clean through and buries his chance. Unfortunately, he was a fraction offside and the goal is ruled out.
send the tactic bud dont keep us waiting.
