  1. Anyone else feel like the number of FM-ings has increased since the last update? Probably a false positive on my part, as it feels unlikely this would happen, but it feels like the amount of times I'm massively up on XG then the AI has 1 or 2 shots on target and scores every time has gone up. The odd result like this is obviously fine as that does happen but it feels so frequent at the moment. Pretty much every single loss I've had is the same way.

  2. Very minor question but I'd be interested to know why the little bookies favourites to take over has been removed from the news articles when a manager is sacked? It's certainly not something that I think is a definite necessity but it was a good little reference point when doing a lower league journeyman save. Gives a little indication of what level you're at if you get linked with a job in a higher division.

I missed 3 out of 5 penalties last year almost reported it as a bug but also won 3 out of 3 penalty shootouts to make it to the FA cup final/Carabao Semis.

Very similar experience to what I had with Man Utd over 2 and a bit seasons. Interestingly though I started again with Everton and Gylfi Sigurdsson scored pretty much every one. Could well just be bad luck...

I dont know. Look at this starting XI from Watford in this thread which was posted one hour ago

I can live with self restrictions and so on. I would even not buy players with certain (too good) attributes. But you should never be able to lead the PL with this starting XI imo.

Wow...you mean to tell me a team packed with quality players and known wonderkids can be leading the Premier League...quelle surprise...

The injuries on the file tend to be an increase in muscular injuries which stop people training for short periods of time, which is what doesn't often happen in the vanilla game.

Ah I see. I never usually use add on files and have mostly just played the game "out of the box". Have been thinking about this year downloading all sorts of packs (mostly faces and kits) but I might check out that injury file too

@Daveincidputs out an editor file to correct this, and it's excellent.

In my current save I am 6 weeks in and haven't had a single injury 😔. Can't wait for the file to come out.

I haven't really noticed an issue with it being low to be honest. I did a save with Man Utd and I was too busy enjoying myself haha. Rashford and Greenwood both had injuries which kept them out for several months but now that I think about it aside from that it was just the odd "bruised shin" that popped up here and there. I recently started a save with Everton though and boy did I get hit hard with injuries in that one. Made sense as I was playing a lot of the players every game and at a high tempo...even had to use U21 players to fill the bench.

It is more realistic, because SI include about 80% real life injury rate, as they have said before. Therefore it's 20% less realistic than it should be.

Ok that's the part I was missing. So the proposal is to put it back to 100%. I've no issue with that. I thought the solution being suggested was to just make it so more of your players got injured thus making winning matches harder. Thanks for the clarity.

it's not unrealistic, it's add the realism back. SI reduced injuries for about 20% compared to real life. putting it back to 100% and there you have your more challenging game. as simple as that. Download the file I uploaded and you will see what the impact will be. Explanation follows after the first screenshot.

I don't understand these percentages. What is 100%? Are you saying that more players should be injured more often to make the game challenging? If so I disagree that adds realism.

    So:

Gegenpress is overpowered -> send save files! -> no -> add more injuries -> no, people revolting for too many injuries -> they can do two games -> no It's too complex.

12 pages of thread and the only solution that we had is "you have to modify your game in order to Play with an attacking formation". 50 Euros to SI and big thank to modders

Some of these things shouldn't be in the same category. Making two games IS complex. Anyone that is flat out saying "no" to uploading their save shouldn't be moaning. They should either help out or move along.

Not sure I quite understand the point about injuries though. Is the suggestion that by just adding more injuries to players that would make the game harder? If so that's utterly ludicrous and unrealistic.

They could do an arcade version (very simplified-for beginners) and a expertise version. People can transfer save files between the two versions

Love when people throw out "they could do..." like it's the simplest thing in the world. Imagine the time and effort involved to produce 2 distinct versions of a game. Never mind the complexity involved to transfer files between those 2 versions.

  11. On the whole I'd like the game to be left fairly close to how it is. The common player doesn't necessarily want harder difficulties to games like this. The silent majority will just be playing their saves and getting on with it. I've won a lot of matches in the Beta but I wouldn't necessarily say it was "too easy". It's not like every game I've swept it 4-0 or 5-0. I've had a lot of 2-0s, 2-1s or 1-0s. And they're matches I've specifically looked at and gone "how would I approach winning this match in real life with this team..." I didn't just find some tactical exploit (accidentally or otherwise) and hit continue for 6 hours.

While I'm on the subject of exploits I just don't understand the thought process behind doing that. It's odd to want to go outside the normal parameters. This game is still people's work that they've put effort into and people just come along and try to break the boundaries. It's like someone making a cupboard for you and you smashing it with a hammer to see how robust it is. It's rude.

Some of the goals I've seen on the Beta, for and against, have been absolutely beautiful aesthetically. That's the really enjoyable part.

It will be 3 strikers all in the striker positions. The ME has struggled to cope with that since about FM17 or FM18 where it was a definite exploit.

Why would anyone want to do this? I'd find no satisfaction in just exploiting a loophole to score loads of goals. Might as well just add 20 fake managers and play against the U23s every game.

  13. Anyone else found players missing way to many penalties in the Beta? Oddly shootouts are fine there aren't any of the janky 2-0 shootout wins that I know cropped up a few years ago. But in normal time my players have been missing a large volume of penalties awarded and with a variety of players taking them too.
