  1. Hi,

In my save with Liverpool I accidentally made a board request which appears to have granted me an under 19s team. Having looked at this team it’s full of greyed out regens.

I just wanted to know whether anyone has had any experience with these teams and what their main purpose is? Is this primarily an opportunity to give younger players a chance where the u18/u23 squad is full/overcrowded? From what I can see they aren’t entered into a league of any sort so would presumably just be playing friendlies? Would like to make the most of it given I’ve been granted one but feels a bit pointless at the moment.

    cheers

  2. I’ve made the fatal error of making a promise when signing a contract with a new team.

In my interview I promised not to change any of the back room staff (expecting to have a full compliment of coaches at my disposal on arrival).  However after getting the job I realised the ex manager took all the coaches with him and I now have unassigned gaps in my training. I can’t sign any new coaches as the board just block it immediately.

Does anyone know how long it takes/how to check when these promises expire? Will I need to sign a new contract before I can sign another coach?

  3. Currently playing as Salford in the second season. First year we got promoted as champions of League 2, however just after the end of the season, Peter Lim (chairman) stepped down alongside all of the class of 92 who now appear to have become unattached coaches.

We were put under an embargo whilst the takeover took place and once completed were told that a fan consortium had taken us over and weren’t planning to invest any money.

We were slightly in excess of our wage budget at the end of L2 (spending £60k with a budget of £54k), however this was relying on the fact these budgets would be bumped up upon promotion. In reality these budgets have stayed the exact same which means we have 0 transfer or wage budget. I have sold our highest value player (the keeper Hladky) for £1.2m to Derby but the % of revenue retained is next to nothing meaning we still can’t spend anything or bring in any new players.

Our overall balance is £3.8m (thanks to Hladky and a cash injection from Lim last season) so overall we’re pretty comfortable yet still no sign of any of this being allocated to transfers by the ownership.

The board expect us to finish top half of L1 this season however as we have had to release key players due to contracts expiring and unable to renew loans as no wages available this seems like a bit of an ask. I just wanted to know whether anyone else has had a similar experience and whether the lack of investment is due to it being a fan consortium or just because they’ve only just taken over. Would also be curious to know if anyone knows how I might be able to increase these budgets. I have requested multiple times from the board but they are having none of it. There is no-one left of value to sell and we have no good youth prospects.

Was really looking forward to bringing in some bigger players this year and making a playoff push however it looks like we may very well be battling relegation with a mediocre looking L2 side.

    Any responses much appreciated!

  4. Hi,

I think a really cool feature would be where more than one player could manage a team in a network game in a manager/assistant type dynamic.

I know this is something me and my friends have talked about quite a lot as we would live the debate/discussion over tactics, scouting, etc.

  5. Hi,

I’m not sure whether this has been mentioned before (or whether this feature is even desirable). However is anyone aware of an effective way to play a network game with friends as the same team? I have thought that screen sharing on Zoom, Teams etc may work and then just allow control between one another however am wary of the load this will have on the CPU. There’s also the possibility of relinquishing control but was just wondering if anyone can think of any other methods.

Appreciate this may not interest most people but me and my friends have always been keen on having a crack at managing a team together - I think I would really enjoy the constant debate over tactics, signings etc and have a bit of a manager, assistant type dynamic going on. Would love this to be a feature in future games.

    Thanks in advance

  6. 7 hours ago, Experienced Defender said:

Even with much faster defenders, balls over the top will (probably) still be an issue when you play gegengpress, simply due to its extremely aggressive manner of defending. Because in gegenpress, you don't just play with a high D-line but also maximum pressing intensity + counter-press, which combined leads to an unstable defensive shape. On top of that, gegenpress-related gung-ho in-possession TIs mean that you can often lose possession when your defense is unprepared to react to a quick counter by opposition. Basically, it's all about risk versus reward.

Thanks for the response. So only way to alleviate the issue really is to get quicker defenders?

  7. Currently playing as Spurs using a 4-1-2-3 gegenpress tactic. I'm finding that I'm scoring a lot of goals but am incredibly leaky at the back and concede most of my goals as a result of balls over the top. I suspect this is due to Spurs's somewhat slow defence.

Of course buying faster defenders would help alleviate this, but I was also wondering if there's any way to play a gegenpress tactic with a standard or even lower defensive line? Could a low defensive line work with a higher LOE or would this create too much of a gap between defence and attack?

Also, I currently have my defence trying to play the offside trap - would taking this off help alleviate this problem at all?

    Any advice much appreciated.

Edit: Playing a network game so don't have the exact tactic to hand but it's something akin to the attached

  8. Particularly wondering whether the carillero will provide sufficient cover to the wb(a), currently have the carillero as a BBM but find I am giving away a lot of space on the right.
                              PF(a)

    If(a)                 Am(s)           If(s)

                     Dlp(d) Car(s)

    wb(s)     bpd(d)     cd(d)      wb(a)

Was also thinking as a more defensive alternate to move the am to cdm as a regista.

    Any advice welcomed, cheers
