  1. A player’s teamwork attribute will impact his willingness to listen to your instructions, so it’s more about balancing the instructions with that. I do think that you can give them too much and that can hinder a tactic. For instance, an attacking mentality on high tempo with counters ticked in transition will likely wind up with a lot of forced passes leading to turnovers and your team being caught out more often.
  2. I don’t think that’s true, I literally just did it. And you can control where your player crosses in his individual PI.
  3. I noticed that once my team had good cohesion and morale, keeping clean sheets became more regular.
  4. Here's what I can see without any context other than what's given. 1) You're on the road. Away games cause problems for away teams. It can vary league by league. 2) 8 vision mean's he can't see everything all the time. You didn't share his mentals (no need to), but I imagine he's not the best at decisions, anticipation, and/or composure based on this tiny clip alone. Those mentals matter. 3) He was being pressed from the inside-out, so his only available passing angle (that he can see) is forward... ...where he actually has no great options to receive, his progressive options are outnumbered, but he's still pushing it. Slowing the tempo or taking shorter passes can help overall, but if it is only him doing this stuff, then ask him to take fewer risks in the PI. Do keep in mind that his teamwork attribute will determine how well he listens to your tactical instructions, so if it is low, don't be mad when he keeps yeeting balls forward. Edit Bonus: The receiver also looks very switched off, check out his attributes, particularly his concentration.
  5. Press conferences are boring in real life. Questions are dull, answers are worse. What I do wish, though, was that your answers mattered more. You can’t Conte yourself in the game despite having some text options to do so on occasion. The worst I’ve seen is being called out for bad mouthing the board to the press. More repercussions, then, if the text strings are too complicated to change.
  6. Every time I ask the board to find an affiliate, a limited number of things happen. But regardless if they outright reject me, agree after some convincing, or accept the request immediately, it never seems to work out in the end and I see an inbox item saying the board failed to find a suitable club to link with. Is this how it is for everyone else?
  7. MLS — salary cap, DP contracts, crazy scheduling in the middle of international windows, you have to finish first or be good at managing single elimination playoff matches to win anything. You really need to focus on squad building and managing minutes, it’ll force you to become a better FM player.
  8. Manager attributes will drop overtime, making them more suitable for office work away from the training pitch. This is a consequence of those attribute changes.
  9. I’ve seen a lot of weird MLS things, but never this before.
  10. But fellas, we can put a watch on our manager avi now. A watch!
  11. Why are you listening to one segment of Mac users who are vocally in favor of the notch? Shouldn't this just be a setting option for users? I am incredibly annoyed that you just decided to pull this from the game to please a vocal minority. edit -- and just FYI, none of those steps you listed in that link actually work to solve this problem.
  12. The way MLS transfers happen in the game, clubs make record signings only to waive them after the roster registration date.
  13. It’s actually pretty fun despite the flaws. I like the roster restrictions and I feel like it’s helped me manage finances in European leagues better because it kinda forces me to seriously consider salary structure and playing time. But, like I said, it took a while and the game doesn’t do a good job at explaining things for you.
  14. I agree except for this. Speak for yourself here, I prefer players move around less and stay put more since that is, like you say, more realistic. In past editions, Mo Salah would go sign for City or something whack like that. The game feels much more balanced. I primarily play in MLS and never really have an issue moving on from players. Maybe I just squad plan differently than others. FM Touch sounds more your speed, give it a go.
  15. Data hub needs to be expanded to cover more things or at the very least feed you more relevant data like corners (this used to be in the game but it’s gone now).
  16. I only ever have 1 that I “play” going at a time. By that I mean that I take the game at face value, don’t try cheating the transfer market, let the AI staff make decisions for me, etc. If I need to learn something new about a league, I might load it up in an independent save to get a feel for it first. it took me a while to fully understand the MLS roster rules, for example.
  17. Idk if this is anecdotal, but it certainly felt like lower league players got injured more on bad and muddy playing surfaces. I do know too that weather impacts tactics, so it would only follow that pitch condition counts for something. Not sure about the synthetic turfs, hopefully someone else can chime in.
  18. ugh I didn't even know this. SI... you officially license this league and just left it to rot. Please please please take a look at improving this league for us. I know you Brits look down on MLS but come on!
  19. As it stands now, you delegate to your staff and they just assign training weeks based on a variety of things that aren't entirely clear to the manager. Instead, allow us to tell the staff to pick from our designed schedules. It seems like a happy medium between the labor intense self-scheduling and the dumby-AI scheduling.
  20. No league in the US have teams going on the road for an entire month except San Antonio Spurs because of the local rodeo, but that isn't MLS, they aren't on the road for the entire month, and its during the shortest month of the year, February, when MLS isn't playing. Let's examine some schedules. My above screenshot is from Columbus Crew, so we'll start there: As you can see, in the next month or so, the most time spent on the road is 3 straight... Further along in the calendar, we still see the same patterns. I don't think I need to continue, you get the point. Certainly, road games are always a part of sports. But no league would schedule a team an entire month on the road -- no ticket sales for an entire month? -- and it certainly doesn't reflect any sort of reality for the league that teams just end up on the road for a month.
  21. It's an officially licensed league that: - features last season's kits every single edition (paying this year's money for last year's stuff) - outfielder kits clashing with keeper kits (i.e. dark blue keeper kit and black outfield). Although this is fixable via editor, I don't play with the IGE enabled. - an extremely rudimentary AI-understanding of the salary system that causes it to basically yeet million dollar signings onto the waiver wire - doesn't have a 2023 start date for a save, like what??? - 2022's season records are literally ignored by the game despite them being in the editor file for some reason (no Bale as a LAFC legend or icon despite him winning LAFC's first MLS cup, LAFC not listed as MLS cup winners in history) - St. Louis City aren't in the right conference when you start a save and they enter the league I still find it really fun to manage in (despite the flaws above). It would be nice if some QOL improvements came to MLS, especially given its place as an officially licensed league. I would venture a guess that if they could figure out a better way for the AI to work the salary system those improvements would apply across the leagues and create more realistic salary structures within clubs, so fixing it wouldn't only benefit MLS. edit: Another thing I realized, the trade system... You can't negotiate very well (it's impossible to know what will be outright rejected vs negotiated without first asking the DoF for help), and if a big rep club comes sniffing around for a trade and you reject it, no one cares.
