They are. To say there's useful comparison is a little blind. Both are used used in the professional game as tools - one as a tactical tool.

It does irritate me on this forum that as a player football management sims that far outweighs most other players with over 30 years (yes, I do remember the days of playing PBM with the Collyer brothers) that it seems I cannot express myself. I really have committed myself to the title with hours and my wallet.

So have the rest of us committed time and money into the game. Step down off that high horse fella.

I think the gestures are an improvement upon the old "tone" system, and I think it works fine for team talks as such.

As for press conferences, I made a post about it a while ago with some suggestions, but the whole aspect of press conferences is a bit of an enigma, really. If you make it real it's boring, so how should it work? My suggestion is to make a "light" version with only a few questions except for finals, title deciders, relegation, and the like with quite specific questions as to how likely you are to win the match, and really contextual questions. Doing it so rarely will avoid the questions being to repetitive for the most part. The "regular" everyday questions could be a few in regards to an injured player, and much the same as now, but only one or two every time.

I'd love to have some brilliant suggestion that would wow everyone, but this is as good as I've thought of yet.

I disagree about the gestures, I just find them unrealistic.

I agree about the press conferences though. I hate them myself, especially after a season in the game when it is the same rubbish every conference ."I'm expecting you lot to whip up another frenzy in a couple of weeks" - They even have an answer that sums up the whole of the press conferences in a save. BUT, like you, I am at a loss as to how they could improve them. I think they are just going to have to be one of those things we live with.

editor. search for players based in japan with database changes of at least 1. select all (might take a while to load, and click on common name and delete everything, even thought it will show up as blank) then only the english names are left

To be honest I am playing in Europe, so any players I scout I am just adding their real name as a nickname and the same for any players that I come across that have moved to my league etc, it's not an issue at all. Thanks for the advice though, will keep in mind for future use! Great job btw

I really hope someone from SI addresses the concerns of us players in the thread because honestly their lack of action on this stuff has only added to everyone’s frustration. It really feels like we are being mistreated and left in limbo because we can’t fully commit to playing the game without these issues being addressed. At the very least, knowing the issues WON’T be fixed would give me a place to start and commit to a long term save in spite of the glaring issues. Instead, I can’t even commit to a long term save because who knows what SI will decide to fix and leave broken with each patch.

The game’s release was delayed, so here’s to hoping that means we might get lucky and they might have one more patch coming, but without any official word all we can do is speculate and go on being frustrated with our purchase.

The complete lack of updates and action from OFFICIAL SI reps on this forum only furthers to sow the discontent between customers and company. If you want people to not speculate, maybe give us some REAL information.

This is exactly how I feel. I want to begin a long term save but if glaringly bad bugs are still present I’d like to know if there will be a fix or shall I not bother and wait for FM22.

Neil Warnock & Mick McCarthy definitely need a data boost both were gone in my save before February with both Middlesbrough & Cardiff in the bottom half of the championship which isn't realistic. They both look likely to finish in the top 8.

Harry Redknapp should also be on Bournemouth coaching staff as a coach as he is helping Woodgate.

Based on this table, Birmingham City need every player dropped by around 50 CA points as we are more than useless in real life.

I have one other complaint about MLS in FM20. There is an unrealistic amount of fixture congestion. Check out this schedule for my team this season. Two of those games against NYCFC are North American Champions League, the rest are league games! From 3/31 to 4/21, a stretch of 22 days, there are 8 games, all away, and four times with just a single day break between games.

Post this in the league specific issues thread for the USA, will be seen there mate

  7. I find it way too easy to get promoted on FM, so I've often found myself "throwing" games on occasion so that I don't get promoted in a season. For instance, my current save I am managing a side who are down the bottom end in real life, so I wanted to stabilise them over 3/4 seasons before getting promoted to the top division. Halfway through the first season and we are level on points with 2nd place, so for a few games I start experimenting with tactics and youth players in order to drop a few points and leave us mid-table as I just think it is unrealistic to be going up already. Anyone else do this? This is also why I never, ever manage my club Birmingham City. My favourite challenges in England have always been to take a unique side and emulate their tactics, such as Sheff Utd last year and Leeds this year. This year was far too easy though, finished 5th first season of emulating Bielsa's tactics (probably because it's high pressure with every player man marking and the game is so easy when you play a pressing tactic).
