  2. You can get an Under 18 team - I managed Brentford and applied to the board for one, and the next season got one. Sadly, it lead to a "promise" to play more youth players in the first team and the next season (two months after the first intake) I was sacked despite winning the league by a mile and playing a lot of teenagers (bought in) all season - for failing the promise to play youngsters.

  3. Some very strange stuff with GK (and other position) ratings. My goalie made a world class penalty save and his rating went up 0.1. Later in the game, my team scored a free kick (nothing to do with the GK in the build up or anything) and his rating went up 0.6

    Been a problem in every single version of FM. Full backs and defensive midfielders suffer in most (but not all) FMs, goalies really is in every version.

  4. I have noticed this, in particular strikers with much better "winger" type attributes, and the main one - nearly all high quality centre backs with extremely low (compared to current players) heading.

    There are other oddities, full backs with a 1 in footedness on the side they play on, low jumping reach across the board and more.

    I am managing England in the 2030s so regularly scout hundreds of the best players who have come through the newgen system, and it is extremely noticeable.

    Actually yes, I saw the option greyed out for the last few (in-game) weeks, and was surprised as there are lots of things I can ask for. No idea if it's a problem or intentional.

    Ironically, that's basically where VAR is right now. A bit of a fiasco/less good version than not having it at all, but the best way to improve it is to include it and make it better through experience. 

  7. I read all the other new posts first and was underwhelmed/outright disappointed with them overall. Read this one and am actually excited by the potential. Obviously the proof will be in how well it is replicated in game, and especially if the AI uses the options realistically/can cope with user tactics, but this certainly looks a lot more like the sort of tactics module that has been called for some time.

    I use 3 subs around 60 minutes every game. I see far too few times I go to 10 men after that. I've done this every game for about 15 seasons, and I probably average once per season I get an injury after 60 minutes. 

    It's a habit I got into years ago on FM, I always sub the lowest three condition players around 60 minutes, and have a tiny fraction of the injuries I should see each season. It's so effective, it's basically an exploit. 

  9. Just wondering how other people's World Cups have been going. Mine was a very odd one (mostly as England didn't win in a version of FM!) as 16 out of the 31 teams who qualified in my game didn't qualify in real life. I know SI cannot use the real tables, but would this suggest something is off?

    I have all World Cup games simulated on full detail, and wasn't involved with any team. Some very odd teams did well, and the winners were Slovenia. Their run through to the final had them play no teams whatsoever that actually qualified in real life either.

    Obviously one off freak tournaments can happen, hence why this isn't in the bugs forum, but it was certainly extraordinary, so I was wondering if this sort of thing is common. I'm still in shock England didn't even qualify, they virtually always win in my FM experience.

     

  10. This looks excellent, but only if the visible attributes are not always 100% accurate like before.

    If all it takes it to scout the player and see their accurate ratings, an estimate of CA etc and a scout saying he is weak at jumping is irrelevant as you already know.

    But, if the scouting is fallible, and better scouts/data analysts give you a more accurate set of estimated ratings, then that is what would be much more realistic and what I've been after for ages. 

     

    Also, scouts finding out about players who aren't playing needs to be changed, estimates of a player's ability when he is on holiday etc need to be much more vague/wrong than players the scout can actually physically watch. In the longer term, I would also like to see the estimated ratings based on the performance in the match watched, so if a player completes a lot of dribbles, the scout estimates dribbling higher etc. Much like real life scouting, you judge based on what you see primarily.

    Not just epilepsy but also migraines. I have set everything to very low and turned off everything graphically in an attempt to get rid of these flashing hoardings, but they appear to be the only thing that cant be toggled off.

    No, you can't. You cannot do anything with ticket prices at all, and you can only ask your board on the others. Frankly, you shouldn't be able to in FM either, it has nothing to do with the job of GM.

  13. I seem to have a similar problem at the moment.

    I started my save with "no transfers at the start of the season", so the slider was equally locked at max. at my wages, and my transfer budget was 0, which was fine, as that was the plan. (And was the same for all other AI clubs).

    I am now in January, winter transfer window. All other clubs apparently can sign new players, but I still can't seem to change the silder at all.

    You will only be able to if your board consider your finances to be good enough. You would get a message (normally around November IIRC) giving you the funds if the board allow

    My grandfather was a therapist for KR back then and the team would receive emails from CM players saying how good he was in the game, I thought that was very funny. Do you guys still send emails out to teams that have -9 pot. players? :p

    When I was young I would always sign him because he was Icelandic and he was godlike

    His brother, Kolbeinn Sigþórsson is now playing for Ajax. He's probably going to be better than Eidur Gudjohnsen IRL.

    I saw him play once, was on holiday in Akuyeri (sp) and nothing else to do, so watched an Icelandic Premier game. The only interesting thing all game was that Sigþórsson was playing (badly).
