  1. Winning promotion to the Premier League on the last day of the season the year immediately following my promotion to the Championship. I was poor and didn't really do a whole lot to improve the team and were predicted and prepared to come in last. I effectually ended up with a League One team in the Premier League.
  2. So was playing FM19 today and it downed on me I've never messed with my set piece tactics at all, and further more I really didn't have any idea on how to best do so. So I've decided to put it to the community to to give me some advice. I'm fairly new to the game of football altogether so feel free to assume I'm an idiot and know nothing. 😁
  3. Currently playing a save as South Shields a they are the lowest professional team I could find.
  4. The ridiculous complaints in this thread are honestly why I avoid message boards. It comes down to this: if you truly believe there is something wrong with the game provide me with proof. Not your feeling or beliefs but cold hard data that shows you aren't just complaining out of frustration. Because for all the complaints you lack that data. Your whole belief that reloading proves anything is why I ignore complaints without some data backing. It doesn't. I would expect two games to differentiate and would be more worried if two entirely separate instances of something worked out largely the s
  5. I've only been playing since 19 but I have an ongoing save with Sutton United I have. I was new to the sport entirely so I really underestimated the talent jump between the Premier League and Championship so I immediately was relegated but after 3 or 4 seasons in the Championship I got myself back up to the Premier League and managed to eek out a 16th place finish to give me another year. I guess my only advice is also don't worry about tomorrow so much. Your single and only concern should be staying up. Don't worry about your youth team for the first year as much as they probably
  6. It should say which month youth intakes happen in the development center.
  7. I have a 5-4-1 defensive formation for the top 7 - 10 teams, a 4-1-4-1 cautious for everyone else, and a 4-2-3-1 balanced for the teams below me or I think I may have a chance against. I signed a keeper and striker during the off season. My previous keeper was a bit below Premier League standard and I have some good options at forward but they're all really young so I wanted a guy with some experience in the hope he'd find the goal more often and help the young guys develop. The results are mixed early. Only 2 games in and I've lost both, 1-0 and 2-0, but as I opened at
  8. Certainly was. I'm actually rather glad I had sleep and work before I could start playing again so I could savor it a little before getting to work improving the squad.
  9. After several months of FM20 goodness I felt nostalgic for my old save and went back to fm19 for a while. This was my first real save I played long term (fm19 was my first version though I'm a long time OOTP veteran) where I took over Sutton United in 2019 and am still there in 2033. I've worked the team up the pyramid and was competing in the Premier League for the second time after a quick 1 year visit a few years previously. I was better prepared for an increase in quality of play than the first time but even still it was a brutal slog. It finally came down to the last day and I
